Chapter 29

The next morning, Veronica was up early. It was like nothing had changed. Only it had. She got out of bed, taking the note out from under her pillow and placing it on top of the pillow. She looked around her trailer for a final time before saying goodbye and leaving the trailer.

Upon leaving, she saw Karl sitting by himself where they had always sat in the morning with their monsters. Veronica decided to walk over to him, grab a monster, and sit down. She had time for a monster before people started to wake up.

"Morning, Karl." Veronica smiled, sipping on the monster.

"Morning! Did you sleep well?" Karl asked, smiling at the girl.

"I slept alright. You?" Veronica asked.

"Better. Monster is waking me up though." Karl chuckled.

"I probably shouldn't have too much of mine. Lots of caffeine." Veronica chuckled.

"Do I need to cut you off?" Karl asked, sitting up properly.

"No, I will be fine." She paused. "You know I love you, right? You're a good friend."

"I love you too! You are an amazing friend." Karl grinned.

The trailer door behind them opened, revealing Sapnap and Dream. Dream walked over and hugged the girl.

"I love you as well, Dream. Glad you rebelled against Sapnap that one time." Veronica chuckled.

"Me too. I made some great friends because of it." Dream smiled, sitting in his chair.

"That's good. Congrats on your promotion." Veronica told him as she stood up, handing Karl her half drank monster.

"Thank you. It's about time." Dream joked.

"Bye guys." Veronica waved as she began walking away.

Sapnap watched her walk away, looking between his friends and the girl he was in love with. Did he really want to throw everything away for her? He debated the question for a moment. He remembered how broken he felt while she was in the hospital bed. Sapnap hugged both his friends before taking off after her, leaving his friends confused.

"Veronica!" Sapnap called after her as he ran up to her.

"What's up, Sap?" Veronica asked.

"Where are you going?"

"To Wilbur's." Veronica half lied. She was going to make a stop at Wilbur's.

"And after that?"

"Probably just around. Why?"

"I'm coming with you." Sapnap stated.

"No you aren't. You need to be here with them." Veronica motioned at their friends.

"I know what I need. They have each other. You are the one person who I never want to lose again. I am going with you. To hell and back." Sapnap told her.

Alec walked up to them, note in hand.

"V?" Alec said quietly.

"Hi, Alec." Veronica mumbled while Sapnap moved, standing behind her.

"I read the note. You know how stupid this is, right?" Alec asked, wiping his face.

"Alec." Veronica started, he cut her off.
