Alijah POV

"You should keep the area dry for the next 48 hours, but when you clean it, a little cool water and soap should do the job." Dr. Mason answered my umpteenth question as he dropped his gloves in the trash bin. "Clean as close to the stitches as you can, but avoid washing or rubbing them directly. And make sure it's dry before covering it with a new bandage."

I cleared my throat as I nodded. "So what am I supposed to do about this migraine because..."

"Ibuprofen or Tylenol should help,"

I nodded, ignoring the rest of his statement. I'm just ready to get out of here. Pops wouldn't even let me shower before he dragged me up here. When he found out that I was knocked out a few time he ordered that I have all kinds of tests done for diseases.

I didn't even notice the big ass gash that sat on my forehead until he made a scene about it. He forgot about me explaining the events, that occurred last night until this morning, and practically carried me to his car.

"Thank you so much for all your assistance this morning." Pops stood, sticking his hand out towards Dr. Mason. Yeah, he stayed in the room the entire time.

"It's my job." He replied, firmly shaking my dad's hand.

"You ready?"

I scooted off of the table and stood to my feet. After thanking the doctor for everything including answering the hundreds of questions I had, we were on our way.

"Hungry?" Pops asked as we halted at a stoplight.

"Uhh nah."

I really didn't have an appetite, I honestly just wanted to sleep the day away. That's how exhausted I was.

"You sure? We can stop anywhere you want." He spoke as he began to drive again.

"Positive."

The rest of the car ride was fairly quiet seeing as that I was sleep the whole way home.

The house was quiet meaning that everyone was most likely sleep except Mama. I knew she was up from the wondrous smell that hit as soon as I walked through the door.

I went to the kitchen, getting a bottle of water.

"What did the doctor say?" She asked as I closed the refrigerator.

"Nothing really. I just got stitched up and I have to go back on the ninth of January."

"I'm glad you're okay, I nearly had a nervous breakdown but I had to keep it together for your dad's sake. He was going crazy."

I smiled a little looking at Pops as I grabbed the small bottle of Ibuprofen from the medicine cabinet and emptied two of the pills into my hand.

"Justin told me what happened." She said as I threw the pills back, chasing them with water.

"Yeah?"

She nodded. "I'm pressing charges on both him and that Shad boy."

"Not gonna let up on Justin? Let's not forget that he technically saved my life."

"That doesn't kill the matter that he may be buying, selling, and making call girls out of hundreds of other girls out there. What if it wasn't Justin that Shad was gonna sell you to." She said, her last sentence sending chills through my body.

"Yeah. Let's not talk about that." I said becoming uncomfortable.

"Shad? The one you wanted to "have lunch with" a couple of months ago?" Pops spoke up.
