Alijah POV

"Oh my God! Thank you soooo much," I said to Lyric, stuffing a handful of the fries from In&Out in my mouth.

It's been three weeks in this weak ass hospital with weak ass food. It wasn't too bad but it wasn't the best. Lyric and Jade were the only ones that got me food that I actually wanted. Speaking of Jade she's been hanging around a lot lately. She isn't a bad person to be around, she's actually really cool and super nice.

August had told me that she was the only one that had tried to help me that night at the party. From what I'd seen she was a decent person and she could be a potential long-time friend.

The doctor had reported that I had a fractured nose and three fractured ribs. The fractured ribs resulted in me having flail chest and I had to be on some kind of mechanical ventilation so my chest could be stabilized and I could actually breathe. Not being able to breathe as good as I usually could on my own was super scary when they first took me off of the ventilation but it was becoming normal now.

Thursday wasn't coming fast enough even though it was tomorrow. I was more than ready to be out of here. The bruises on my face and my nose had healed. The three fractured ribs I had? Not so much, but they were getting there.

The only reason I had to stay here this long is that they wanted to make sure I could really breathe on my own. I think I was perfectly fine but of course, they just wanted to be on the safe side.

The thing I hated most about my condition was the part where I had to clear the phlegm from my chest. The physiotherapist would see me at least twice a day to do that, once in the morning and again around 7 or 8 every night. The first time I had to do it I cried thug tears.

As for school, a tutor's been coming here every other day to keep me up to date on what I've been missing and bringing me the work I'm missing. It's not as easy as doing it in school, I have to do a lot more reading, something I really dislike. It's not like I'm gonna need some of this stuff in the future anyway.

After I finished the last of my food, I dropped it in the bin and carefully slid out of the bed.

"You're lucky I love you," Lyric said as she stood and helped me.

"Yeah, yeah. Thank you," I smiled.

I went over to the chair that was in the corner of the room. I was tired of being in the bed all of the time. "Hey, can you hand me that," I asked Lyric, pointing to my phone that was on the bed.

She handed it to me and sat on the end of the bed. I checked my Twitter notifications. It was a lot of people basically just telling me to get better and that they hoped I was doing fine.

I didn't even know some of them and they probably didn't notice me until they found out I was in the hospital. I was thankful that they were concerned or at least they pretended to be.

My phone vibrated and I opened a message that I had just received from my daddy.

I'm not gonna be able to make it to the hospital today but your momma and sisters should be there a little later. Hope your feeling better and I Love you, princess.
