Alijah POV
I've been laying in bed since I got home yesterday and I can honestly say that I'm loving every moment of it. It would be so much better though, if I could move around how I want to without hurting myself. Of course I had taken my parents' bed because I couldn't go upstairs and I refused to sleep on the couch.
The house is so quiet during the day when everybody's at school or work. It's kinda weird for me to say, but I missed the commotion. I missed Kk being mean and annoying to everyone and Lena, her just being here. I was overjoyed that there was only an hour left until school was out and mostly because it's Friday, meaning that someone would be here during the weekend. Then I would be back at school Wednesday, next week.
I got out of bed and went into the bathroom. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. When I was done, I let the toilet top down and sat on it, contemplating on if I should shower or take a nice bubble bath.
I decided on the shower because I know I would be in the tub forever if I got in.
After my shower, I walked back into my room, to my dresser and grabbed some underwear to put on. I wrapped my chest and put on some basketball shorts and a t-shirt and grabbed my phone.
Yes, I'm just now waking up and eating breakfast even though it's nearly three o'clock.
I looked in the pantry, trying to find something I could eat. At times like this I really wished I knew how to cook. There's little things that I can whip up when needed but the big meals and all of those other things that parents cook, aren't for me right now.
I grabbed a box of coco puffs, a bowl, and a spoon.
I was sitting at the counter eating when someone decided to ring the doorbell.
I was a little skeptical about answering it because nobody is usually coming over here at this time simply because there's usually no one here. To be honest I was scared as hell in this big ass house. Alone.
I grabbed my phone and quietly walked to the door. I stood on my tippy toes and looked through the peep whole seeing Erica.
"Why is she here," I spoke to myself quietly. I looked at the time on my phone and she knocked again. "Hold on," I said putting the code in the alarm system before unlocking the door.
I swung the door open, revealing a smiling Erica.
"Alijah, hi," she said in a slightly skeptical voice.
"Hey," I greeted shortly.
It wasn't my intention to come off as rude but it came out that way and I sensed her vibe change quickly along with her facial expression.
"Shawn asked me to drop by here and check on you so that's why I'm here. Everything looks fine, I guess, so I'll be going now. Oh, here. I brought you this. There are some bath bombs, candles, and tea. I figured you could take some relaxing."
I glanced down at the gift bag and stepped back a bit.
"Here, come in," I said opening the door wider and stepping to the side so that she could walk through.
I closed the door, locking the bottom lock and went back into the kitchen with her following.
"I hope you understand how blessed you are to have the great parents you have."
"Yeah, they're something," I smiled.
Things seemed awkward but it was probably just me.
"So, how's everything been going? You know with your injury and all."
