Jinnie
Terror coursed through my veins as I ran towards Seungri's lying body, legs bent at awkard angles, blood dripping from the side of his head. His eyes are shut and his skin is pale. I cradle his head and let out a wail. No, this isn't real. This isn't happening.
"Seungri! No!" I took hold of his cold, limp hands then I look at his face. I checked his pulse and his breathing but there's none. He's lifeless.
Lifeless. No. This can't be true.
Yukii is now kneeling on my side. She's crying, hands clasped in her mouth. "Oppa.." She kept on shaking her head out of shock, terror, and disbelief. I couldn't count on her now. She may be a doctor, but this is too much for her to take. He's her friend, her family. My mind is racing. I have to do something.
I look at Seungri's face. This is the man I love, the man that I hold dear. I should do something. Anything. He can't die like this in front of me. I won't allow it. I have to decide.
He will live.
"Jinn!" Yesung was suddenly on my side. I can see his face, but my mind is no longer functioning properly. I have to do it quick.
"Jinnie, Azrael is here." He tells me, eyes reflecting a hint of nervosity. His eyes, it's warning me. Warning me not to do something drastic.
"Jinn, don't--"
I shake my head, tears are about to well up in my eyes. "I'm sorry, Yesung.." Please understand that I have to do this..
"No!"
I didn't let him stop me. I did what I have to.
I placed my hands on top of his chest summing up all the strength that I have, hoping that he'll breathe once I gave him half of my life.
I hear Yukii gasp as my hands released a glow of yellow light. It's not just her who's seeing this, a lot of people are already watching but I don't care. Nothing seems to matter anymore. My only concern is Seungri.
A teardrop fell on my hand and that's when I realized that I'm crying. All I can think of is for him to live, to see the light in his eyes and the brightness of his smile.
All of a sudden Seungri coughs up some blood and his chest started to slowly rise and fall. I let out a low choking laugh in between tears as I hear his heartbeat, and though it's still faint it made me relieved to know that there's life in him now. I couldn't believe I'm still able to do it but I did and suddenly I feel weak. I've released a vast amount of energy and I feel drained. But it doesn't matter as long as he's alive.
"You're alive.. You're alive.." I whisper in his ear and kissed his forehead. I turn to see Yukii, her face reflecting a mix of disbelief and astonishment. She stares at me like she doesn't know me at all. She's confused, but I can feel the relief that washed over her once Seungri started breathing. "Yukii, call for help." I tell her. She blinks a few times and nodded her head. She was about to stand when she froze like a statue, and not just her, but the other people around us as well. The noise is gone and all movements have stopped. My ears are ringing because of the dead silence.
Just then, two winged creatures landed landed from the sky which made me petrified.
"What have you done now, Eshriel?!" Rafael's voice was like thunder and it made me shiver. He's with Jegudiel who's standing just behind him and looking at me with expressionless eyes.
Azrael steps out from the formed, still crowd and joins Rafael and Jegudiel.
Yesung kneeled in front of them and bowed his head. "Rafael, spare her please. I beg you."
"No, Yeshiel. She had been given another chance but she wasted it away. All because she's loved another mortal!" Rafael bellowed. "She has to face the consequences."
"Take me." Yesung tells him, head still bent. "Take me instead." He added.
"That's not how it works Grigori." Azrael butted in. "You know that."
I saw Yesung's hand clenched into fists. "I am willing to give up my life for her. Consider this please."
Rafael who looks impatient, draws out his sword. "I have no time for this." He started to walk towards me. Rafael points his sword on me and I close my eyes, hot tears streamed down my cheeks. He'll now send me to the depths of hell.
"Please make it quick." I tell him.
But before Rafael could strike I hear another landing from the sky.
"Rafael, don't."
I opened my eyes when I heard Cassiel's soothing voice. I can feel her aura, it's making me, all of us, calm. Rafael looks at her with furrowed eyebrows.
"The council sent me. I was ordered to tell you not to proceed in sending Eshriel to the depths of hell, until the council have discussed what happened here now."
Rafael looks disapproved. "What's there to discuss? Didn't they see what happened?" He scoffs.
"Rafael, orders are orders." Cassiel answered him firmly. This is the first time I saw her talk like this. Her face is stiff and not soft.
Rafael let out a heavy breath. "Alright." He walks back towards the other archangels. "We have to erase the memories of the people who saw what she did."
"Agreed." Cassiel answered and nodded her head.
"As for you," Rafael turns to me again. "This will be the last time you'll ever see that human. You've done enough."
"I understand." I tell him and he looks at me sternly. "But please allow me to make sure he'll be taken care of inside the hospital before I leave him." I bowed down my head. "That's all I ask." I know this will really be the last time I'll ever see him.
"Fine." Rafael said to me. "But I'm telling you, this will be the last."
