A small old person, who sat on a pillow and between two others, greeted, "Hello there. I am the chief of this village, Tecchikawahara Tecchin. Very nice to meet you. I may be the smallest in this village, but I'm also the best in my craft. Now, bow your head so low it touches the mat." Tanjiro bows as his head slams on the mat and yells, "Kamado Tanjiro. Very honoured to meet you!" Tecchin grabs a basket and says, "What a good boy. Now come over here and take some dough cakes." Tanjiro politely takes the baskets and eats the food whilst saying, "Thank you so much!" Tecchin explained, "Hotaru has gone missing now. We're doing our best to look for him, so please be patient." While putting a dough cake into his mouth, Tanjiro asks, "Hotaru?" "Yes, Haganezuka Hotaru." Tanjiro says, "What a cute name." Tecchin also says, "I'm the one who gave it to him. But he keeps mad mouthing me since he says it's too cute." Tanjiro chewed a chunk of food and said, "That's pretty sad." Tecchin again says, "He's always like this ever since he was a child. He always throws tantrums right away, then he goes off somewhere. Sorry about that." Tanjiro exclaims, "Oh, no, no! I'm the one who ends up either breaking the sword or chipping it." Tecchin declined, "No. You're wrong. It's his fault for creating a sword that can actually break." Tanjiro was speechless but the person behind Tecchin said, "As soon as we find him, we'll seize him and bring him over. So don't worry about anything." Tanjiro goes, "Please don't be so violent." Tecchin offers, "I heard your body still hasn't recovered enough to be sent out into the field. So if Hotaru doesn't forge your sword by the, we'll have someone else do it. The hotspring does wonders for the body. So please, spend some time there."
Tanjiro was directed to the hotspring as he thought with guilt, "I hope they don't fight each other." The person who directed him tells him, "The spring is at the top of this hill. I will be preparing your meal down here." Tanjiro begins up the stairs to the spring. Up the stairs, Mitsuri ran down while yelling in distress, "Ahhh! It's Tanjiro-kun. Tanjiro-kun!" Tanjiro yells, "Oh! Please be careful! Your breasts are going to spill out!" Mitsuri got on her knees and clung to Tanjiro while saying, "Listen, listen! I got ignored! I greeted him and he ignored me!" Tanjiro asks, "Who did?" Mitsuri continues her yelling, "I don't know! I asked him his name and he ignored me! Isn't that just cruel? I'm a pillar! Now, all that good energy I got from coming out of the spring is completely gone!" Tanjiro informs, "It looks like they'll be done with dinner soon. I heard they used matsutake mushrooms." Mitsuri gleams, "Woah! Are you serious?" She walks off and sang a song. Tanjiro thought to himself, "She eats a lot. Just like me."
He arrived at the spring and thought, "Woah! It's so big!" Something small thing hit his head as he said, "Ow." He caught the thing and revealed it to be a tooth. He thought with fear and slight disgust, "Who'd lose a tooth?" He places Nezuko's home down and looks at where it came from. A person from Final Selection and when he bumped into him during his time in the Butterfly Estate sat there. He thought, "It's mohawk-head! Naho-chan told me his name..." He then called out, "Shinazugawa Genya!" Genya investigated and yelled, "Drop dead!" Tanjiro stood still for a second and ripped all his clothes off. He also jumped into the water and yelled, "It's been so long! How've you been? You have the same name as the Wind Pillar!" Genya responded by dumping his face into the water and yelling, "Don't talk to me!" Tanjiro rose from the water and found he was gone. He said to himself while Nezuko swam beside him, "I thought I could be fringe with him since we were both in the nude. Man relationships are hard."

- Later -
"It's still hard to believe that we both eat so much! That's amazing!" Tanjiro gleams. Mitsuri asks, "You really think so? I often wonder how it is that you eat so much. Are you, perhaps, like me?" Tanjiro replies, "Probably... I do eat a lot to keep strong though. Oh yeah. The boy at the spring was someone from my batch. His name's Shinazugawa Genya." That name caught her attention and says, "Oh! Is that so... That'd mean he's Shinazugawa-san's little brother, right? But he told me he didn't have one. Maybe they don't get along? That's so tragic." Tanjiro asks, "Oh, is that so... Why's that?" Mitsuri played with Nezuko and said, "Well, I have five siblings and I get along with all of them. I don't really know. I guess the Shinazugawa siblings are just scary." Tanjiro observes, "Genya still hasn't come here. I'd love it if we could just chat for a bit." Mitsuri patted Nezuko's head and said, "Looks like he isn't coming. And he told the villagers that he wouldn't eat at all. Maybe he brought something with him." Tanjiro says, "I hope he's okay. I'll bring him some leftovers." Mitsuri and Nezuko embraced in a hug as she yells, "Yeah! Great idea!" The three begin to walk into another room as Mitsuri same another song. While walking, Tanjiro asks, "Kanroji-san. Why did you join the Demon Slayers?" Mitsuri stopped and began to get flustered, "Huh? Me! It's kinda embarrassing... Oh no. Should I? See... I joined so I could find a gentleman who would marry me for life!!" Tanjiro was utterly speechless as she continued with her ramble. Later, Mitsuri opened a door and said, "Genya-kun isn't here." A voice called out, "Kanroji-sama. Your sword will be done very soon. We would like you to come to the workshop so we can make our final touches..." The Kakushi stood there as Mitsuri said, "Awww. Looks like I have to go now." Tanjiro says, "Don't worry about me! I'll see you off." Nezuko kind of clung to Mitsuri as she said, "It's fine. I'll probably have to leave in the dead of night." Tanjiro embarrassingly said, "No, but, well, okay then... Uh." Mitsuri smiled and said, "Tanjiro-kun. I don't really know if we'll be able to see each other alive next time, but let's just do what we can. You survived a battle against an Upper Moon. That's already a great learning experience. Practically speaking, there's nothing more valuable than experiencing something like that. That's equal to five, maybe ten years of intense training. You're definitely a lot stronger now than when I last saw you, Tanjiro-kun. Kanroji Mitsuri fully supports the Kamado siblings!" Tanjiro was shocked and said, "Thank you so much. But I have still a ways to go. I only 'won' because Uzui-san helped me. I will work harder than ever. So I can near Kibutsuji Muzan!" Mitsuri admired the saiyan's words and smiled harder. She got close to him and says, "Tanjiro-kun, you got permission to stay here a little longer, right?" Oh, yes. For now," Tanjiro replies. Mitsuri looked back at the Kakushi and back to Tanjiro. She leans in and whispered, "I heard there's a secret weapon in this village that makes you stronger. Go look for it. Later!" Tanjiro stood in silence before raising the plate into the air and slightly bleeding from his nose.

- The Next Morning -
Tanjiro walked through the forest as he asked himself, "I wonder what this weapon Kanroji-san talked about is. Is it a sword? Is it buried? It's like a treasure hunt. I'm so excited! This is a nice place. But I still smell the hot spring from here. Hmmm. Maybe my nose isn't working well because I haven't fully recovered yet. I really want to find Haganezuka-san, but... Hm?" He felt an immense power down the forest and recognized it as a Pillar. He looked down and thought, "A kid? And one more person... Huh! That's a pillar." Two people stood there one looked as if he was explaining something. He again thought, "Shinobu-san mentioned him before... Oh yeah. The Mist Pillar. Tokito Muichiro."
