--Tessa's POV~
"Mama!" Michael called from the kitchen. I looked up from my emails. "What do you need, love?" I asked. "It's time to go!" My eyes flicked to the clock at the bottom of my computer screen. "You're right, hun, one second." I saved my email as a draft and shut it down. I've got a meeting with Andy today, and somehow I find myself not as heavy-hearted as I was during last week's coffee meeting. I scooped up the car keys and watched as Michael raced towards the car. He reached up and opened the car door, crawling onto his car seat. "You're getting tall." I said with a smile. Michael nodded. I pulled the seatbelt strap across his chest and snapped it into the little thing-a-magig on the other side.
"Bye Michael!" You smiled, waving to Michael as he hopped into the little room, joining his friends in some sort of hide and seek game.
--Andy's POV--
I clutched the paperwork in my hand tensely. Tessa would never accept this. My manager sat in the seat next to me, seemingly relaxed. "It won't be a hard fix, really." He said. I shook my head, saying nothing. "She's become a huge name in the writing and press business, it would do you guys good." I thought. Tessa would never want to do this, but if I knew my manager he would prod at her until she was over the edge. He did that to everyone. I pulled into the lot and stepped out of the car, loosening my grip on the papers as to not rip them. "This girl really drives you crazy, Andy." John said. "First you want her 1000 miles away and then you want to--" I cut him off. "Just leave it, John. She'll never do this." John laughed. "I'll give her so much money she won't be able to reject!"
I signed in at the receptionist counter and headed into the familiar elevator. Floor 2. It was a long, awkward ride in the elevator. I could feel the tension. John and I never got along. A small, high pitched ding sounded and the elevator opened to reveal Tessa's floor. "Where's her room?" John asked. I pointed. "Just down to the left. It's like, room 3 or something." I peeked inside every room, looking for Tessa. Finally, my eyes rested on her, sitting at her desk. Her wavy brown hair was down, bothering her bright hazel eyes. "Ah!" John said loudly. Tessa looked up from her desk in surprise. "So this is the famous Tessa Bluin!" Tessa looked at me questioningly. Seeing her confusion, John introduced himself. "I'm John Mason, the manager of Andy Biersack and his solo work. I also do work with the band." He held out his hand, to which Tessa returned with a shaky, nervous one. John sat down. "So, what are we here for?" She asked, her voice full of anxiety. I tossed the paper down on the desk, pacing slightly. "You see, Tessa, we're going to give you the deal of a lifetime. You won't just be a lyricist, you'll be a full on press writer!" Tessa furrowed her brow, picking up the contract. "Oh, I'm sorry, this must be a misunderstanding. See, I just wanted to help with the writing. I couldn't possibly--" Tessa's shaking voice was cut off by John's booming one. "The lyrics are all done! But darling, you've become a big name in the writing community. We want you to go on tour with Black Veil Brides and tell everyone all about how great they are. It's gotta be you, we'll offer you huge bucks." Tessa smiled at John, looking up at me hatefully. I shrugged. "I can't accept this. I've got a toddler who needs--" Once again, John overwhelmed her. "Sweetie, get a nanny! I'll give you 500 for the full tour, and I'll raise it." Tessa coughed. "5-500?"
--Tessa's POV--
I'm not lying, $500 is a lot of money. But a tour? I can't do that. I just can't. I can't leave Michael, and I can't be with all those bad memories. Not for a whole five months. I looked at Andy for help. He looked angry. "I honestly cannot do this. Thank you for your time and generous offer, but I'm going to have ti decline." I said with a fake smile. John began to speak again. "I'll pay for the nanny, I'll give you $700, and you'll be famous in the writing community. Darling, don't pass it up." I sat in silence. He wasn't going to leave my office, was he? I smiled, but shook my head. "Come on! What's it gonna take?!" He said. "Just leave her alone, John." Andy said in a frustrated voice. "Fine. I will give you 1k. 1k. Accept it, don't make me sorry for it."
1,000 dollars for a five month tour.
1,000 dollars...I couldn't. I couldn't spend so much time with Andy or Ashley or Jake or even innocent CC and Jinxx. I was about to shake my head when I thought of Michael. We could barely afford his baseball lessons. That money would help a lot...I had to do it, for him. But I just can't. Andy, seeing my conflict, moved forward. "John. Leave it. She doesn'--" I cut him off.
"I'll do it."
