--Andy's POV--
"I'll do it."
You'll what? Tessa? "Well that's great! We'll pick you up on the 2nd of next month at around 12:30. If you could just fill out your information on the paper and read the guidlin--" John began. "Tessa," I said in a low, disapproving tone. "Andy...I know what I'm doing." She responded. But I knew she just didn't. Tour was a whole five months, and she'd probably spend it on the bus with us. Tessa could barely handle being around me for five minutes, a whole five months with all of us? Tessa heaved a sigh and slid the paperwork towards her. "Tessa, you don't have to do this." She didn't respond, she just scribbled her pen on the paper. "Tessa, can we talk? Outside or something?" I asked. She didn't look up from her contract, but she quietly said, "When I'm done." I sighed, rubbing my hands together and turning around.
Tessa handed John the contract, her hands shaking a little. "There we go!" John pulled a second set of papers from his bag. "Here's some additional information on the tour, your arrangements, and the guidelines for the article. "We'll see you on the 2nd!" John said with a smile. Tessa nodded, and I gave her a look to tell her let's-go-outside.
--Tessa's POV--
"Tessa!" Andy almost shouted as we reached the outside of the building. "Why would you do that?!" I put my fingers to my temples. Why would I do that? Something inside me made me feel like I needed to prove to Andy, prove something. "Do you know what you're going to have to do on this--" As he moved to put his hand to either side of his head, I flinched and brought my arms to cover my face. Andy stopped talking. "Hey...." He said softly, gently touching my arm. I brought them down, holding back tears. "I-I won't hurt you...I just don't want you to be traumatized on this tour." Andy said. His tone was soft and low, and so...soothing. "I-I just want Michael to be happy and I want you to know I'm not always...afraid." I said quietly, looking up at him for the last few words. "You don't have to prove anything to me." He smiled. I nodded. All I could ever do was nod, I didn't want to speak. I didn't have the energy to shrug. A nod always seemed fitting, even when I knew it wasn't. "Michael really likes you." I said with a shy, awkward smile to break the silence. "Yeah," Andy said proudly. "He's a good kid." I nodded again, and the silence covered us both. "Maybe you could come over for dinner tonight?" I offered. He smiled and nodded. "That sounds nice. Nothing too fancy, you don't have to prepare anything. We can just get pizza if you want." We both spoke in quiet, almost whisper tones. "No, it's okay. How about 6:30?" I offered. "Okay." After that, nobody said a thing. We just thought. I thought about how Andy probably wasn't going to leave any time soon, and I thought about how he really had changed. "Tessa?" Andy finally spoke. "Mm?" I said, my face turning red for reasons unknown. "Don't be afraid of me, okay?" I looked up at him. "Oh-Okay." He smiled. "Good."
