Chapter 24 - The Sand Man

--Andy's POV-

I gave the last fan in the line a friendly hug and a bit of conversation before rounding up the other guys. Ashley, of course, was flirting with some girl. "C'mon guys, I wanna get home and check on Tess." I called. Ashley sighed and slipped one more sentence to the girl before coming to join the rest of us. "That was a good starter show. We can go home, have a little bit to drink, and fall asleep on the floor!" Ashley said excitedly. Jake scoffed a laugh. "Have fun. I'm going straight to bed." We all piled into the car. "If you can. Jinxx and Sammi have some looovvvee time planned out, huh Jinx?" Ashley pushed comically. Jinxx looked at him with a humorously dissapointed face. I grinned at Ashley's playful behavoir.

--Tessa's POV-

The boys walked in at exactly4:47 p.m. I heard Ashley's laughter and the familiar tar-like scent that their warpaint always carried. Sammi got up and went to greet them. "Hey guys! How was the show?" I heard her ask. "It went great. Is Tessa asleep?" Andy asked. "No. I got her to eat some of my burger though." Sammi said. "That's good." Andy's voice said. My hand rested on my stomach, pressing down slightly to avoid the pain. It was feeling a little worse than earlier. "I call the first shower!" Andy called, making me smile to myself a little. "Awww, dammit! I call the second." Jinxx claimed. The rest of them mumbled about a little, and sooner or later I heard the shower running.

--Andy's POV-

I dried my hair the best I could. The floor of the shower was practically stained grey from all the warpaint I'd washed off. "The shower's yours, Jinxx!" I called, hanging up my towel. It was time for Tessa's nighttime medicine, so I headed into the kitchen and got her water and the usual pills. Trying to keep the pills from melting in my hand, I hurried into Tessa's bunk-area. She was on her phone, playing some sort of pixilated game. "How you doing Tess?" I asked her, closing the curtains behind me and handing her her medicine. "Oh, I'm okay." She said sweetly, turning off her phone and taking a sip of the water. "We're not gonna ice your stomach tonight, the swelling is down." I said. She nodded, swallowing her pills with a cringe. "Sorry I missed the concert today...How was it?" She asked, laying back down. "It was great. We had a fun crowd." I said, looking at her flawless face. Even when she was so tired and hurting, she was absolutely beautiful. I pulled my eyes away. "I'm gonna sleep in Sammi's bed, okay? I'll be right here if you need anything." I finally said, getting up. "O-Okay." She said. I layed out my blanket on the bed and sat down. "Andy! Tessa! What do you guys want from Sharky's?" Ashley's voice called from the kitchen. I looked over at Tessa. "I'll split a barbeque chicken pizza with you." I said, hoping she'd eat. She sighed and said, "Fine." I smiled. "Barbeque chicken pizza, no onions." I shouted to Ashley. "Ok." Ash called back. If I was going to hold her down and force it down her throat, so be it. Tessa had to eat something. "What time is it?" Tessa asked. I looked at my phone. "6:30." I replied. She nodded, yawning. "I'm tired." I smiled at her. "Go to sleep, I'll wake you up when the food comes." I said. She nodded, rolling onto her side and closing her eyes.

Ash was back in 30 minutes with the food. I decided not to wake Tessa since she was in such a good sleep. I'd save her some and we could re-heat it later. "Thanks for the food, Ash." I said, digging into the pizza. "Yeah thanks Ashley." CC said.

"Thanks."

"Thanks Ash."

"No problem. Where's Sammi?" Ashley replied.

"At the store, probably getting tampons or some shit." Jinxx said, making the rest of us laugh a little.

"Is Tessa still asleep?"CC asked. I nodded.

"Oh. That's good. Did you see that bruise?!" CC continued. I nodded with a light laugh. "Yeah, it must hurt. She puts up with it well though." I took another bite, finishing off my first piece and moving on to my second. "You guys wanna do something?" Ashley asked. "What the fuck Ash, did you finish your whole burrito already?" Jake asked. "Yep." Ashley laughed. Jake shook his head jokingly. "I should check if Tessa's awake yet. She should eat something." I said, putting what was left of my now third-piece back on the tray. I got up and headed into her bunk. I could hear something...like a whimper? A cry? Was she crying? I didn't want to invade her, so I stayed and listened for a moment. I heard it.
"You're hurting me..." Her small voice said in an almost whisper voice. What the fuck? I shoved aside the curtain, expecting to see someone I was going to have to beat the shit out of, but it was just her. She was laying on her bed, turning and thrashing. She was still asleep.
