Chapter 28

A few days later Dean got a call from Ben saying a couple men broke into the house, killed Lisa's new boyfriend and that they had her. Been told him to jump out the window but it was too late as the guys came into Ben's room and took him.

After hours of searching they finally found Lisa and been and rescue them but the demon that was in Lisa's body stabbed her before they could so they had to rush her to the hospital.

While there, Dean stayed at Lisa's side. Nova stepped to the doorway since Lisa was her friend and noticed Cass was there talking to Dean. All of a sudden Cass put his hand on Lisa's forehead and made it where she wasn't going to die.

Cass started to walk out but Dean stopped him by saying "One more thing you can do for me." Dean walked closer to Cass, "I want to...to clear hers and Ben's memory of me."

Nova stepped up over to Dean, "But Dean-"

"No Nova." He shook his head, "She's here because of me." He said with tears in his eyes, "She's here because those monsters were trying to get to me and guess what? It worked, and I don't want them to go through that again." He looks at Cass, "So please get it over with."

"Then make sure her memory of me gets wiped too. Because since I'm friends with you that might get used to get to you or even me." Nova shrugged.

Dean looked at her and nodded, "That's a good idea."

She smiles and nods then wraps her arm around Dean's waist, "Come on, let's go get some coffee while Cass works his magic."

She kept her arm around his waist as he laid his arm around her shoulders as they walked down to the cafeteria to get some coffee. After they were done Dean started towards where Lisa's room was but Nova stopped him.

"Uhm Dean where you going? The exit is this way." She pointed with her thumb.

"I know." He nodded, "But I just want to see her one last time, need to see her and make sure Cass did what I asked of him."

"Okay, I'll go with since she was my friend."

They then went and stood by her door, watching as Lisa and Ben talked.

Dean then knocked on the door frame, "Hey." He did a small smile.

"Who are you guys?" Ben asked them.

"I'm Dean, this is Nova. I." He cleared his throat, "I'm the guy that hit you."

"Oh." Was all she could say.

"I just uh, I kinda lost control for a minute."

Nova linked her fingers with Deans, "It was partially my fault, I accidentally distracted him."

Dean looked at Nova, down at their hands then back at Lisa and Ben, "I uh we just wanted to come in and say that we're sorry. We're just real happy you're both okay. I'm just uh, I'm glad your life can get back to normal now. " He finished with his eyes glossy.

Nova nodded while giving them a sympathy smile as Lisa smiled at them then looks at Ben.

"We're okay so that's what important right?

Dean gave them a smile as Nova said, "Yeah."

"Anyway, we'll leave you two alone." Dean sighed, "You take care of your mom." Dean squeezed Novas hand slightly as they walked away from the hospital room and he let out a deep breath.

She lifted his hand keeping their fingers linked together and kissed the back of it, "As much as it hurts, this is to protect them isn't it?"

He took a deep breath and let it out and sniffled, "Yes it is."

She looked at him and seen him fighting back tears so she stopped, making him stop with her. Before he could react she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and began hugging him. He just stood there for a minute then wrapped his arms around her waist, hugging her back. As they were standing there hugging he put his face deeper into the crook of her neck.

She rubbed the back of his head as she spoke softly, "I know you loved her so much but it's going to be okay."

He nods gently then after a few minutes he broke the hug and wiped his hands down his face. "Thank you." It came out as a whisper.

"For what?"

"For the hug, I need that."

"Oh that?" She smacks the air, "No need to thank me because you've became such a good friend, pretty much like a big brother and that's what family does for each other."

He smiles and kisses her forehead, "Well then you're like a little sister I never wanted." He joked.

"Hey now." She giggled.

He wrapped his arm her shoulder, "Come on let's go out and join Sam, I'm sure he's getting tired of waiting on us."

"Probably." She nodded and went out to the car.

Sam was waiting with his elbows on top of the car, once Dean and Nova got to the car he asked, "Well?"

"Well nothing." Dean said sternly as he got in.

Sam and Nova looked at each other and she lightly shook her head with a small smile then they got in.

"Dean, you have pulled some shady crap but this has got to be worse." Sam said as Dean looked at the hospital then started his car. "White Washing their memories? Take it from someone who knows-"

Nova smacked Sam on the shoulder, "Sam! It's not the same thing. He did it for their protection. To save them from those monsters coming after them again. And they're just going to keep coming, knowing it'll get to your brother!"

"If you ever mention Lisa and Ben again I will break your nose." Dean said sternly, not looking up from the steering wheel.

"Dean-" Sam started but Dean cut him off.

He looked at his brother with tears in his eyes, "I'm not kidding."

Sam just looked at his facial expression, nodded and looked away. Dean looked at the hospital again then drove off as Nova sighed and gave Dean's shoulder a comforting rub and sat back.

Sam then took the opportunity to look at Nova, she looked at him with no emotion, shook her head slightly then looked out the window.
