"Five years ago, we lost. All of us. We lost friends... We lost family... We lost a part of ourselves. Today, we have a chance to take it all back. You know your teams, you know your missions. Get the stones, get them back. One round trip each. No mistakes. No do-overs. Most of us are going somewhere we know. But it doesn't mean we should know what to expect. Be careful. Look out for each other. This is the fight of our lives. And we're gonna win- I'm sorry y/n am I boring you?!"
You held up your finger as you finished yawning.
"No" you shook your head. "No I'm sorry. I'm ready."
"You sure about that?"
"I'm sure. I am ready. Sorry, go on..."
"I- I think I was done. Just... whatever it takes. Good luck."
"Don't die" you grinned.
"Wow. Great advice" Rocket said sarcastically.
You all looked around each other once more.
"See you in a minute" Nat smiled.
Everyone shrunk and entered the Quantum Realm.
You were with Thor and Rocket, going to Asgard the year 2013.
"Wow I missed this place" you sighed and took in the palace around you.
"Really?" Thor questioned.
"Nah. I still hate it."
"Let's find the stone and get outta here then" Rocket said.
You started sneaking through the palace.
You came to a point where you had to sneak past one room in particular you were dreading.
"Okay be quiet" Thor whispered. "Loki's in there."
He glanced nervously at you, but you didn't notice.
"Y/n? Are you okay?"
"Hm? Yeah sure" you nodded half-heartedly.
You entered the room, facing Loki's cell.
Loki was lying on a bed, throwing something up and down in the air.
You hurried across the room with Thor and Rocket before he could notice you.
But you paused at the door, glancing back at him.
He suddenly stopped throwing the thing in the air.
His head slowly turned towards you, but you were pulled back by the arm before he saw you.
"Y/n! Come on! No one can see us!" Thor hissed and pulled you away.
You carried on through the palace, until you spotted Jane.
"All right. Here's the deal, Tubby: You're gonna charm her and I'm gonna poke her with this thing, and extract the Reality Stone and get gone, lickety-split" Rocket explained.
"Wait I thought we couldn't be seen?" you asked.
"Well, you can't be seen. Everyone thinks you're asleep, and we can't change that."
"Fine. Ugh, what was the point of even coming" you slouched against the wall, sinking down until you were sitting on the floor.
You heard a door open, and Thor and Rocket both crouched down to hide next to you.
You peered round the corner and saw your mother walk towards Jane.
"Mother" you whispered.
"She died today" Thor frowned.
"What?" you turned back to him.
"Sh!" Thor covered your mouth with his hand as you had been a bit too loud.
Luckily, no one noticed.
"She dies today?" you cried quietly. "Why didn't you tell me?!"
"I didn't know how."
"Fuck... I shouldn't have come..." you muttered. "I- I can't be here right now."
You try to stand up, but Thor stops you.
"Y/n no. You can't do this right now."
"I- she- shit" you buried your face behind your knees.
"Hey. Look at me" Rocket said.
You looked up with tears in your eyes, and he slapped you across the face.
"Hey!" you yelled abruptly.
The group of ladies around the corner, including your mother, suddenly stopped talking.
"Shit" Rocket mumbled.
"Look what you did" you hissed.
"Me? This is your fault!"
"How is this my fault?!"
"You're freaking the fuck out! This isn't all about you! We all lost people y/n!"
"Oh fuck you Rocket. We can bring all your family back. Not mine!"
"Okay both of you shut up!" Thor objected. "Run! I'll distract them."
"Fine. Be safe Thor."
"Mhm. Go!"
Footsteps got closer.
Thor sighed and shot up round the corner, while you and Rocket lowered your heads as you hurried away.
"MotheAH!" Thor exclaimed as he almost knocked her over. "Mother! Hi!"
"You're better off leaving the sneaking to your brother" Frigga frowned.
"Yeah. I was simply just going for a walk and uh..."
"What are you wearing?"
"I always wear this. This is one of my favourites."
Frigga raised a hand and stroked Thors cheek gently.
"You're not the Thor I know at all, are you?"
"Yes I am" Thor lied.
"The future hasn't been kind to you, has it?"
"I didn't say I'm from the future."
"I was raised by witches, boy. I see with more than eyes, and you know that."
"I am totally, totally from the future" Thor cried, releasing his tears.
"Yes you are."
"I really need to talk to you."
"We can talk."
Thor hugged his mother tightly.
———
You and Rocket were walking through the palace to find Jane.
"I'm sorry" you mumbled.
"What?"
"I said I'm sorry" you repeated. "You were right. I'm not the only one who lost people. I was being selfish."
"Well thank you for apologising."
You walked on in silence too.
"I'm sorry too. I guess, even if this does work, at the end of the day it doesn't bring back your family. And I'm sorry for slapping you."
"Mhm. I'll get you back for that."
"And hey, your boyfriend comes back. That's good, right?"
"Yeah" you smiled to yourself. "It is."
"If you ever want to prank him by the way, I have the best idea."
"Oh yeah?"
"Ever think about stealing his arm?"
"Now that... that is genius. We definitely have to do that if he comes back."
"When he comes back" Rocket corrected.
You smiled at him, then pointed at a door.
"I think she's in there" you informed.
There were two palace guards waiting outside.
"How do we get past them?" Rocket wondered.
"I... have an idea... hopefully it won't involve anyone dying..."
"What..." Rocket protested, but you had already stepped into the vision of the guards.
"Princess y/n?" one of them asked, and stepped towards you cautiously.
"Oh hey! Bert and Ernie, right?" you laughed.
"Not even close" the other one frowned.
"I thought you were... sleeping."
"Yeah uh, I woke up. Good news, yeah?"
"We're gonna need to take you to see your father..." one of them reached slowly for the weapon at their side.
"Shit yeah. My dad. So... we're not exactly on speaking terms so I think I'll pass for now."
"Lady y/n..."
"Fine. But... you have to catch me first" you smirked and ran off in the opposite direction.
They both instantly ran after you.
The doorway was clear, and Rocket ran in to see Jane asleep.
"Well this should be easy" he grinned.
———
You were gasping for breath, after being chased by several more guards now.
You turned a corner and launched yourself through an open doorway. You listened as all the guards ran past in the hallway.
You sunk back against the wall, giggling slightly.
"Y/n?"
You shot up again at the sound of your name, and you noticed you were back in the room outside Loki's cell.
"No. No, wrong person sorry" you muttered and lowered your head so he couldn't see your face properly.
"H-how did you wake up? And why are you running?"
"Uh, I-"
You debated with yourself for a second, but could barely think straight.
You made a choice you would probably regret.
You let Loki out.
Before he could even step outside his cell, you ran up to him and hugged him.
He hugged you back, but was confused when you didn't let go.
"Okay y/n... y/n you can get off me now."
You shook your head and held onto him.
His posture softened and he held you more comfortingly when he noticed you were upset about something.
"What's wrong?" he asked kindly.
"I don't want to leave you."
"What? Where are you going?"
"I'm sorry Loki" a tear fell as you finally stepped back.
You shot a blast of energy so he was fired back into his cell.
You hurried out and locked the door again.
"Y/n..." Loki looked hurt, and it was killing you.
"I'm sorry. I- I love you Loki" you put your hand on the glass. "But I have to do this. Believe me I don't want to."
Loki smiled weakly.
"Okay. I love you too" he put his hand against the glass on the other side. He always trusted you, no matter what.
"You're not mad?"
"I could never be mad at you."
You opened your mouth to say something, but quickly ran out the room so Loki wouldn't see you cry. You knew it upset him too.
You managed to hold it in regardless, wiping your eyes as you walked through the hallways.
"Hey stop right there!"
The guards had found you again.
You didn't look back before you began to sprint away from them.
———
"Thor I got it!" Rocket ran out towards where Thor was still taking to his mother.
"Great! Where's y/n?" Thor asked.
"Uh... she's not back yet?"
"No, where'd she go?"
"Crap. She was causing a distraction."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"She ran off so the guards would chase her so I could get the stone."
"Well where is she now?"
"I don't know! If I did, we wouldn't just be standing here talking!"
"Do you know how much trouble she could get in if she's caught?"
Someone walked up to the small group, looking for Frigga.
"King Odin wishes to see you" the servant informed.
"Thor, find your sister. Quickly. I can't say she's safe on her own" Frigga ordered.
"Of course mother" Thor nodded.
"Oh and Thor... this was a gift."
"I love you mom."
"I love you. And eat a salad!"
Frigga hurried off with the palace servant, as Rocket and Thor started to search for you.
———
You were breathing heavily as you sprinted down the hallways.
You had to have been running for pretty much 20 minutes straight, not slowing down or turning back once.
You eventually slowed down, when you were sure you had lost the guards.
"Thor, please have found the stone" you muttered as you tried to catch your breath.
You carried on walking.
When you found yourself outside one particularly familiar door, you finally stopped.
You sighed deeply before entering.
It was your room.
Everything was as you remember, except a clone of you lying on the bed.
You frowned at your past self.
Suddenly, you felt a sharp pain in your back. You gasped as someone grabbed the back of your neck.
"Who the hell are you?" they whispered into your ear.
