A Newsies Vacation (Gone Wrong)

The Newsies' Beach House, Emerald Isle, NC, around 1:15 pm

POV: Narrator

"Alright you guys, what the fuck is going on? It seems like everything is crashin' down all at once." Jack said, calling an informal gathering. "I don't know'se, but I'se think it has somethin' to do with Mary and Spot...seems like they are doin' something behind our backs to try and takeover." Skittery suggested. "You'se right. We gotta do something to protect Kelson, Jake, and the others." Jack said. "How are we gonna stop em'?" Crutchy asked. "We'll form a plan at dinner tonight. Time is tickin'." Jack said. "We's got one man kicked out, one down, my girlfriend is sleeping, and our partner is in a state of shock. Someone is tryna sabotage us." Jack said. Suddenly, Racetrack then began crying. "I miss my friend!" "I know ya do, Race. We just gotta go with who we got." Jack said, hugging him.

Around 3:00 pm

Jack received a text from Jake.

Jake:

Hey, Jack. Something's seriously wrong with Kelson. He won't do anything, he won't eat, it's almost like he's lifeless. Would you mind if you sent Sarah and Les over to comfort him? I think it would be beneficial for both of them. =)

Jack:

Sure, man. Whatever helps. You up for dinner tonight at around 7? We are going to discuss the recent events that have been happening recently.

Jake:

Of course, I'll see you then!

Jack went upstairs to go check on Sarah. Surprisingly, Les was also sleeping with her. Jack sat on the edge of the bed and proceeded to wake them both up in a similar manner that he did with Jake. Sarah then woke up and was completely mesmerized "Kelson...?" she said faintly. "Nope, it's just me, you crazy lady!" Jack responded. "Jack!" She immediately sprung up. "I just had the most wonderful dream!" Sarah said. Les was still asleep. "Tell me all about it!" "I was showing Kelson around the house, and we had the most delightful conversation! He was like an angel." She explained. "Well, to be honest, you was livin' real life. He carried ya to bed when you fell asleep in front of him." Sarah was ecstatic. "Now listen, Kelson needs you more than ever right now. So I want you'se to get ready for him and get Les up." Jack explained. "Oh my goodness, what happened?" Sarah became worried. "Nothin', he just wanted to talk to ya."

Within a matter of minutes, Sarah and Les were up and ready to go. They really enjoyed spending time with Kelson, but unfortunately, they were unaware of what he was going through. Davey was still resting and recovering meanwhile, so he wouldn't be able to go. "A'right kids, have fun!" Jack said as Sarah and Les left through the french doors. They walked across the sandy beach, the afternoon sun shining from above. They finally made it to the back of Kelson's beach house and knocked on the french doors. A friendly Jake greeted them, opening the doors for them. "You guys have no idea how thankful I am for you coming. Something's wrong with Kelson if you haven't heard. Long story short, Mary found out about him carrying you [Sarah] to bed and giving him a tour of your place, so she got a little angry and she broke things off." Jake said. Sarah became so enraged at Mary, even though she was nowhere to be found. "Where is that STUPID BITCH?" Sarah said sternly while cornering Jake unintentionally. "Hey, I already got jumped by your brother once for something I didn't do, please don't do the same!" Jake said fearfully. "Kelson's right over there. He has barely said a word after what happened," he said.

Sarah and Les slowly approached Kelson in his reading chair in the other room, gazing into nothingness. His face was so pale and expressionless like he was physically drained out. When Kelson noticed Sarah, he was surprised. "Sarah...? You came to see me?" Kelson immediately sprung up and his face lit up. Sarah was staring into his beady little eyes, and before she knew it, she hugged him! "You are so warm!" she said. "Really, I'm freezing cold. That's funny." It was about 20 seconds before Kelson had to physically detach Sarah from himself gently. "Hey Les, how's it rolling?" Kelson exclaimed while picking him up. "Sarah, you brought the life out of him! No one else has ever done that before!" Jake exclaimed. The future looked obvious from this point. Kelson was happy now.
