Kelson's Beach House, Emerald Isle, NC, around 9:00 pm

POV: Narrator

It was a long and eventful day for everyone and so much had happened. Sarah and Les spent the whole day with Kelson, and over that time Sarah and Kelson got to know each other really well and formed a bond quickly. Les and Kelson make really good playmates, and once in a while, Jake would join in too. Davey was doing better but had a very big weld around his eye from the fight. Sarah decided it was time to come home after a short nap with all four of them on the living room couch after their dinner. "Alright, thank you for coming. I feel so much better, it's almost like Mary is irrelevant!" Kelson said. "No, thank you. Les loves playing with you and I enjoy spending time with you." Sarah responded. "Well, we both enjoy each other's presence. Feel free to stay a night here if you want. I will have Jake escort you both safely home and you don't have to worry about a thing. You know it's a mad world out there, especially at this time of night. I can't have you going out there all by yourself." Kelson said. "Thank you, I am looking forward to spending more time with you in the future," Sarah responded. "Me too." Kelson smiled and hugged Sarah. Sarah gave him a kiss on the cheek and that caused Kelson to blush severely and grin. "Aww, you're so cute! Sweet dreams." Sarah said. "Thank you so much!" he responded. Kelson ran to pick up Les one more time to hug him before setting him down.

Sarah texted Jack to let them know they were coming home.

Sarah:

We will be coming home now!

Jack:

cool, did you guys have fun?

Sarah:

It was amazing, and Kelson is feeling so much better than he was!

Jack:

good, im glad. see you around.

"Alright, now you guys stay safe out there, okay? Jake, text me when you have safely brought them home. I'll see both of you tomorrow, okay? Take care!" Kelson said. "Alright, let's get you home little buddy," Jake said as he picked up Les to carry him on his shoulder. The three of them left through the back of the french doors as Kelson watched through the doors while they walked out on the deck into the night.

around 9:30 pm

It's been over 30 minutes since Jack had heard from Sarah, and there was no sign of the three of them anywhere. The last they ever heard from them was when Kelson said goodbye and when Jack texted Sarah. Jack texted Kelson out of concern.

Jack:

hey, have you heard anything from Jake or Sarah? they havent come back yet.

Kelson:

That's weird. I haven't heard anything from them on my end, but I'll give Jake a call to see what's up.

Jack:

thanks. ill keep you updated

Kelson tried calling Jake. He never picked up. "What the hell?" He thought to himself. Just then, Jack had the thought of venturing out into the dark of the night in search of them. It was raining heavily that night. He decided to let Kelson know.

Jack:

im gonna go out and look for them to make sure they are ok.

Kelson:

Dude! It's pouring out there. You don't wanna go out there by yourself.

Wait, what if it was Spot or Mary that set something up and kidnapped them??

Jack:

oh god. i gotta go out there and find them now. i dont care.

Kelson:

Wait!! That's not good mannn! What if it's a trick to get us into going outside to look for them purposely so they can get ahold of us too?

Jack:

Kelson. you got brains. you just saved my life.

Kelson:

Anytime. Lock your doors and secure everything because they might try and break in. You might want to sleep somewhere safe temporarily. I had to change the password to all my systems so Mary can't break into anything.

Jack:

thanks. lets go to bed now and deal with this in the morning. ill message you first thing.

Kelson:

Sounds good! Stay safe.

The two partners went to bed in a new, safe location out of fright that they were under a sneak attack by Spot AND Mary. The rest of the Newsies were able to sleep safely, and the rest of Kelson's people made sure he was safe through the night.
