What a day.
I've been staying in Iceland since college started. I met five friends too who have Filipino blood, the same with me. An unexpected friendship which really comforted me in a foreign place.
Lately, because of stress and I guess, tiring shifts and other academic stuff, I started getting sick.
"What the hell, Amara?! Are you not taking care of yourself?!" Galit na sambit ni Ellie ng makapasok sa room ko dito sa hospital.
Earlier, I fainted at school when I stood up. It's embarrassing thinking about it now, ugh!
Our prof called me for recitation but when I stood up, my vision suddenly turned black. When I woke up, I'm already at the hospital.
"I am," Mahinahon kong sagot kay Ellie.
Alam kong galit siya, sila. Lahat silang lima ay nandito ngayon sa room ko. Si Agezho ay naka wheel chair at may dextrose na nakakabit, Si Aziel ay nakakunot ang noo, si Drake ay may pag aalala sa mukha habang si Kalen ay malamig lang ang tingin na normal na lang sa amin.
"If you are, you wouldn't be here." Kalen rolled his eyes.
"We eat and sleep at the same time. If I'm not taking care of myself, you aren't, too." Sabi ko sa mga ito and rolled my eyes. Duh!
Natawa naman si Drake at Aziel at napatango sa sinabi ko. They agree! Totoo namang same routine lang kami. Everything between us is the same! The course, the food, the place we stay in. Lahat pareho!
"I guess we have to change our routine, your body can't handle it." Sabi naman ni Ellie.
I pouted before nodding. Yes, we should! Kasi kung hindi ito sa akin nangyari, paniguradong isa sa kanila ang pupuntahan namin dito. Our routine is so unhealthy.
Ofcourse, maliban kay Agezho. He's been living here for hears, escaped, then went back again due to worsened situation.
Baliw kasi, takas takas pa. Hindi pa naman pala magaling!
"Yeah, right. We all need to take care of ourselves. Wala na dapat sumunod kay Agezho dito." Sabi ni Drake at tinignan ng pang asar si Agezho.
"Bro," Sabi ni Agezho and raised both his hands kaya natawa kami.
Nanahimik lang siya pero nadamay pa rin. Kawawa naman.
"We should be here because we're on duty not because we're the patients." Sabi ni Aziel, which we can't believe, made sense.
I almost clapped my hands due to amazement. I rolled my eyes with my thought. I'm being so bad with Aziel!
"Ilang oras mo pinag isipan yan bro?" Asar ni Drake.
"Pakyu!" Sabi nito kay Drake at niraise pa ang middle finger.
Natawa kami at napa iling. Normal ng gawain nila iyan lalo na pag nag aasaran sila. Normal na lahat sa akin, sa tagal ba naman naming magkakasama? Simula start ng college, kami na nagkikita kita eh. Kung hindi man sa school sa apartment naman.
Though hindi naman namin kilala agad isa't isa noon. Let's just say, it was destiny. Ang corny but, amusing nga, eh.
When the doctor came in, sabi nito ay I fainted because of stress and overworking myself.
We already started our internship here in the hospital. And, we have to attend classes in schools too. Mahirap pagsabay sabayin but kinakaya naman.
Sadyang napagod lang talaga ata sa 'kin yung katawan ko ngayon at nag give up.
