"What's wrong with you?" Stacie asked as Emily practically slammed herself into the seat in front of her.

"I asked Beca again- practically begged her to hang out with me and she wanted nothing to do with me, her own sister," Emily sighed as she reached over and took a fry from the older woman's plate. "I mean I guess I understand her not wanting to play volleyball, but I'm her sister. Her only sister."

"I know it's hard, but we can't really push her," Stacie replied as the small breeze blew through her hair. They were sitting at a table on an outside patio of a restaurant, expecting Jesse to come along as well but he hadn't made it. "Last time we tried it ended badly."

"You don't have to remind me," Emily muttered as a waiter walked up to take her order which was just a chocolate milkshake and an order of onion rings. "What happened on the night that-"

"Victoria died?" Stacie cut her off, knowing what the younger woman was getting ready to ask. As Emily tentatively nodded her head, Stacie sat up straight. "How much did Beca tell you?"

"Not much. I was with her when she found out and I drove her to the hospital, but she refused to let me in with her to talk with the doctors."

The taller woman inhaled before she started the story. "From what I understand, Vic and Beca were arguing about Beca not wanting to come to the party so when I went to pick them both up, it was only Victoria that got in my car."

"Hey," Stacie smiled when the brunette got into her red Toyota Camry. "Where's your other half?"

"Complaining about having to work again," she replied. "She's not coming so don't bother trying to wait or call her."

"Yes, ma'am," Stacie replied not wanting to push further. "So how has your day been?"

"It was pretty good. We finally cleaned the house and fixed the yard so we could hang out in the backyard," Victoria explained. "How was your day?"

"Well, I was hanging out with Jesse all day but he can't come tonight. Other than that, not much."

"So we're headed to Luke's house, right?"

"No," Stacie shook her head. "We're going to Jake's. Luke just stays there all the time because he likes to fuck Jake's roommate."

"Caitlin?" Victoria questioned with furrowed eyebrows and when Stacie just nodded her head as she kept her eyes on the road, Victoria hummed in response. "I never would have thought that."

The other woman glanced over at her with a grin. "Are you serious? How can you not notice? Every time they're together, they're practically eye fucking one another."

Victoria shrugged. "I don't know, I guess I'm always occupied watching my own girlfriend to notice what others are doing."

"You two are so cute it makes me sick," Stacie replied with a laugh and the other woman joined in.

"So are you ever going to settle down?" Victoria asked and Stacie just raised an eyebrow as high as it would go before quickly glancing at the woman.

"I'm sorry, it sounded like you just asked when I would settle down." Stacie couldn't help but laugh and honestly, neither could Victoria but she was serious.

Stacie had a promiscuous nature and all their friends welcomed it, but most of them were still very curious as to when someone would steal Stacie's heart. They even placed bets on it.

"What? I'm serious," the other woman replied. "Is it really so crazy to think that one day you might actually fall in love?"

The two of them just stayed quiet and looked at each other before bursting out in laughter.
