Stacie woke up wrapped around a comforter set that she was unfamiliar with. In fact, she noticed three things right off the bat.
The first was that the sun was way too bright and way too hot for her liking. It was shining so bright through the light curtains that she had to squeeze her eyes shut.
Second was that she was naked. Granted, she got undressed due to spilling wine all over herself last night, but she could have at least changed back into her clothing.
The third thing she noticed was that she didn't have a hangover. No, she wasn't even drunk. Usually, when she would wake up naked in someone else's bed, it meant she had partied or happened to drink a little too much. However, Stacie remembered everything. She remembered getting off the plane. She remembered reading the letter. She remembered leaving her house in a hurry, and she remembered kissing Blair. She remembered the touching and hands being everywhere. She remembered everything.
Sometimes she thought the morning sun was a total bitch. Stacie had never been a morning person, not even in her youth. She would much rather sleep in and stay up all night. Right now, she was hating every second of the morning and wished the sun had an off switch.
Stacie muffled a groan, stretched her arms out in front of her, and arched her bare back like a cat. It had been a long but fun night, and as soon as she grabbed her phone to look at the time, she collapsed back down to allow a few seconds to regain composure before getting out of the large king-sized bed. She looked around the room and noticed how nice it was. She couldn't really tell last night, but it also wasn't on her mind.
The room was surrounded with four white walls, a lovely white dresser against one wall where a few white chairs sat on the opposite wall. It was a rather large room so the bed was sat in the middle of the back wall with a bedside table on each side. Sunlight poured in through the large windows, which warmed the room.
As she looked around the room, her eyes landed on her clothes that had been washed and neatly folded on the edge of the bed. That seemed to remind her that she shouldn't be here. She was usually gone by now with her one-night stands, but for some reason, she was still lying in Blair's bed.
Stacie quickly stood up and threw her clothes back on, noticing the nice smell of the blonde's laundry detergent.
Get out.
The tall brunette shoved her phone into her back pocket and headed downstairs, where she saw Blair painting on a canvas.
"Well, there she is," Blair chuckled, not looking up from her task. "Sleep well?"
"Uh yeah," Stacie muttered as she looked around the room. What was she supposed to say? She wasn't used to this, and even though Blair was a friend of her friends, she was just as much of a stranger to her. "What are you doing?"
"Babysitting a goldfish." Blair raised an eyebrow and glanced over at the woman. "I'm painting, Stacie. What does it look like?"
"I don't know," Stacie replied and watched as Blair sat the paintbrush down and laughed.
"You don't do this much, do you?"
"Do what?" Stacie questioned. "One night stands?"
Blair stood up and replied, "No. A woman like you being as good at sex as you are doesn't get that good without some well rounded practice." Stacie's cheeks burned as the other woman continued talking. "I meant still being here when the other person wakes up."
"Oh," Stacie looked down, feeling embarrassing she had been caught as if it was some big secret. "Yeah. I'm usually quick to leave."
"But you slept in, and now you're faced with saying bye to me," the blonde lightly replied with a smile. "I'll make it easy on you, Stacie. Last night was just sex with a couple of people who have a group of mutual friends. I would offer you some coffee, but you know."
