The ride from her house to Beca's was all a blur for Chloe. The redhead curled up into Beca's side for comfort. In some ways, it felt like a retreat. She was running away from the house she had bought for her and her sister because she had lost control of things. But at the same time, this was a chance for her to finally get away from Jamie and get a new start.
Beca didn't say anything as Amy drove the van. She just held the redhead as if to tell her it was all going to be okay now. It was all the redhead needed right now.
"You wanna take Chloe to your room while we unload all this stuff?" Beca asked Cora. The younger Beale nodded yes as she led her sister into the house.
"Your room?" Chloe asked her sister.
"Well, it's technically Beca's. She has just been letting me steal her bed," Cora corrected as she led her sister into the house. "Now, let's see if we can find you something else to wear."
To Chloe, Beca's place seemed almost unrecognizable, with the blow-up mattress still on the floor and much of Aubrey's stuff still in the living room. Chloe had longed to be here for so long, but now that she was, she was feeling overwhelmed.
"Hey, are you okay?" Cora asked, sitting on the bed next to her sister. Tears began to roll down Chloe's face as she tried to come up with a response. But The older redhead couldn't find the words. All she could do was sink into her sister's arms as the younger woman hugged her.
"Hey, It's okay. You're safe now. He can't hurt you anymore," Cora said, trying to comfort her sister.
Something felt off as Chloe held her sister, and then suddenly, it hit her, sending a chill down her spine.
"Cora, why are you so skinny?" Chloe asked, mortified. "Did something happen?"
"Chlo, I lost the baby about a month ago," Cora shrugged, and Chloe felt her heartbreak at the news.
How could this have happened? And how could she have not known?
"No," Chloe cried out.
"Hey, it's not your fault. It's no one's fault."
"No, I'm your sister. I should've been there. I.. I..." Chloe stuttered out before.
"Chloe, look at me," Cora said, getting her sister's attention. "It's not your fault."
"But I wasn't there for you when you needed me. You tried to warn me, but I wouldn't listen."
"And that's not your fault, Chlo. That's Jamie's fault," Cora said sternly. "Beca and the girls were here to take care of me. And I don't want you ever to think that you are responsible for what he did to you. You are the victim. Got it?"
Chloe nodded yes. She wasn't sure if she believed it, but she needed to hear her sister's words.

"Oh my god, guys, that was the worst thing ever," Emily said, bursting into Beca's living room. She was still wearing the black party dress, but her hair and make-up were now all messed up.
"What happened?" Blair asked in concern.
"He took me to his car and started kissing me and talking about sex, and the next thing I knew, he had whipped his dick out and was wanting me to give him head," The younger woman moaned, plopping down on Beca's couch. "Like I would ever."
