It was around 10:30 at night when Chloe found herself unwillingly on her way to Cynthia-Rose's house party. The redhead was uncomfortably seated in the back of Aubrey's car smack dab in the middle of Fat Amy and Cora. The three were so tightly packed to gather that Chloe was struggling to breathe on the drive over. It didn't help that she didn't want to even be there in the first place. Chloe had planned on having a nice quiet night at home now that Jamie was back on the road again. But her friends had other plans for her. They had practically dragged her out of her house and forced her into the back of Aubrey's car.
"I don't know why I had to come. You're all going to ditch me the second we get there," Chloe whined as the group got to the pulled up to Cynthia-Rose's house.
"For the thousandth time, Chlo, we are not going to ditch you," Aubrey replied back.
"Unless we meet a naughty hottie," Fat Amy added.
"No, tonight is about building team unity," Aubrey said with determination in her voice.
"Oh, we all know who you want to be united with," Fat Amy smirked.
"Can we just park already? I'm dying back here," Cora moaned as she shifted uncomfortably, which caused her left elbow to dig into Chloe's rib-cage.
"Ow! You're uncomfortable?" Chloe said as she tried to pry her sister's elbow out of her rib cage.
"Why did we let Legolas sit in the front again?" Fat Amy piped. The bigger woman shifted, pushing Chloe and Cora up against one another.
"Hey, you told me too!" Stacie replied.
"It doesn't matter. We're here!" Aubrey said. Chloe was surprised by the tone in her best friend's voice. The blonde had become somewhat defensive over the past few weeks. At first, Chloe thought it was because she had relapsed and started purging again, but now she got the feeling that there was something else going on with her best friend.
"Let's Party!" Fat Amy shouted as the five women all made got out of the car.
Even though they were supposed to be at this party to build team unity, they didn't look anything like a team. Aubrey was wearing a nice black dress that cut off just about her knees with matching heals while Stacie was wearing short shorts and a flannel T-shirt. Cora, on the other hand, was wearing a black leather jack over a gray shirt wither signature ripped jeans and red beany. And Fat Amy was just wearing a black shirt with matching black pants.
Chloe couldn't help but laugh to herself, as the four women together looked like they were about to drop one of the hottest album of the 90s.
But then Chloe remembered how she was dressed in her Jeans and a green button-up shirt. She hadn't put anything fancy on because she wasn't planning on going. But now that she was here, a part of her wished that she had put on a dress or at least a nicer shirt. But then she remembered she was engaged and realized it didn't really matter what it she looked like.
As the group made their way to the back-yard, Chloe was greeted with a familiar voice.
"Hey, Chloe!"
"Hey, CR!" the redhead responded as she was greeted with a hug from Cynthia-Rose.
Chloe and Aubrey had met Cynthia-Rose when they were in college. After college, she had made it big as a D.J. but still hosted house parties for the college crowd. And tonight there had to be over 200 people at her house.
"Let me show you some of my new mixes," Cynthia-Rose said to Chloe.
Seeing that Chloe was busy, Cora made her way through the party to a small shed in the back of Cynthia-Rose's yard. There she found Emily waiting in their usual spot for her.
