"What the hell was that?!" Aubrey practically screamed at her teammates following their third consecutive loss. The blonde was pacing up and down the rec center parking lot, still fuming much to her teams' irritation.

"It was a volleyball game," Fat Amy responded sarcastically. "I mean, I think you of all people would know what it is called at this point."

"Is it too much to ask that we play descent and actually win a game?" The blonde said to her roommate but loud enough for the others to hear as well.

"I had fun," Benji interjected.

Once Aubrey found out that Cora and Benji were dating, she decided to take matters into her own hands and asked him to join the team. However, she was disappointed to find out that Benji wasn't very good at sports.

"Yeah, all that really matters is that you have the right teammate," Stacie said as she placed her hand on Aubrey's back.

"Maybe that's the problem," Jesse said just loud enough for Stacie to hear.

"Has anyone heard from Beca, lately?" Chloe asked, not caring about the current conversation. Now that the game was over, Chloe's mind started to wander to more important things, like where Beca had disappeared to.

The redhead was engrossed in her phone, trying to find signs of the smaller woman on social media. But there was nothing, and it was driving Chloe crazy. It had been two weeks since she had heard from Beca. Without warning, they went from talking and texting every day to not talking at all. Chloe had tried to reach out several times but got nothing back. It was like Beca dropped off the face of the Earth.

"She's going through a lot right now," Stacie said.

Chloe couldn't help but get a sick feeling in her stomach. Was Beca texting Stacie and not her? Chloe wondered.

"Chloe, don't try to change the subject," Aubrey said. "You played like shit."

"How about we finish talking about this over our traditional ice cream celebration?" Fat Amy interrupted.

"Celebrating is for winners," Aubrey pouted as she leaned back into Stacie's touch.

"Then ice cream can be your comfort food, which makes it taste even better," the larger blonde said.

"All right, let's go," Aubrey sighed as each member of the team went to their respective cars.

"I think I'm going to call it a night," Chloe announced. "Benji, can you give Cora a ride home when you're done?"

The younger Beale glared at her older sister.

What was that for? Chloe thought.

"Sure," Benji said as he wrapped his arms around Cora's waist.

"But not in a sexual way. She is way too young to be a mother," Chloe added.

"Thanks, mom," Cora said as she pulled away from Benji's touch.

"Can I get a ride with you?" Emily asked.

Chloe agreed, and Emily followed the redhead to her car.

"How's the writing coming?" Chloe asked once the two were alone in her car.

"Eh, I've been a little distracted lately," Emily said as she stared blankly out the passenger window.

"Well, I hope you find your motivation because the stuff I read the other day was great," Chloe said, hoping to cheer up the younger woman.

"Thanks," Emily said disinterestedly. The brunette hadn't said much all night. It was like she was in her own world.

"Em, why don't you and Beca live together? I mean, it must get lonely there all by herself," Chloe said, hoping she could get the younger woman talking.
