Beca was walking down the street with a bag of records in her hand after having nothing else to do that day. She had a few days off work due to renovations on her floor, so she decided to finally head to the music store to pick up a few records she's been wanting to get. It was a warm day out, so there were more people than usual who were going for walks or runs, and it annoyed Beca because she had to go out of her way to sidestep, but she had her headphones on as she listed to some mix she had finished the other day, so it didn't bother her as much.
She turned a corner on a much less busy street but was still a few blocks from her apartment when something caught her eye. To her left and up three stories of an apartment building was a large sliding glass door with no curtains that she could see in. It wasn't the fact there were no curtains that caught her eye, though; it had been the two people who seemed to be having sex in front of said door. Or more actuarily, they were having sex on the door. There directly in front of her, was a naked woman who propped up against the glass door. She was young, beautiful, and looked like she was having the time of her life. Behind her was a man who looked exactly like Jamie. Chloe's Jamie.
"Holy Shit," Beca said, the words slipping out of her mouth. She felt sick to her stomach as she watched the pair fuck.
Beca was no stranger to catching people in the act. If being friends with Stacie Conrad had taught her anything, it was that you never know when two people might decide to get it on. She had even walked in on her sister in a few compromising positions over the years. But she had never caught someone cheating before.
That can't be him, Beca kept thinking as she watched the man screw someone who was defiantly not Chloe.
When Beca moved to turn her head, the man looked up, making direct eye contact with her. There was no doubt about it. It was him. Both their eyes widened, and Beca couldn't seem to look away, not believing what she was seeing. Only a few seconds passed (but what felt like an eternity), and the brunette finally found the strength to move. As she booked it all the way back to her apartment, she began to feel angry, but more importantly, her heart was hurting for Chloe.
Did Chloe know?
"What an asshole," she mumbled to herself as she shut the door and pulled off her shoes and jacket.
"Who's an asshole?" Beca heard and whipped her head around to see her sister walking through with a slice of pizza.
"Dude!" Beca exclaimed as she moved her hand away from her chest. "Do you always come in here when I'm not home?"
"Sometimes," Emily nodded with a smile as she grabbed the tv remote and plopped down on the couch. Beca sat the bag she had been holding Dow on a table by the door. "However, your car was here and you weren't answering so I though you might have died or something."
"You never called me," Beca responded as she quickly grabbed Emily's pizza before taking a bite of it despite her sister smacking her. "And if you thought I was dead somewhere, why are you just eating my pizza instead of looking for my body?"
The younger woman shrugged. "I figured I'd find you sooner or later. I haven't eaten anything and saw the pizza in you fridge so I decided, why not?"
Beca just looked down at her phone as she sat down beside her sister. "I'm glad you care so very much about me."
"Maybe next time don't have leftover pizza and I'll try looking for you harder," Emily smirked and Beca just glared at her. "So, who is an asshole?"
Immediately, Beca's mind went to Jamie, but should she tell Emily? She is friends with Cora and maybe Cora knows about Jamie? She had doubted this was his first time cheating; he did come across as an arrogant ass hole when she met him. She got a bad feeling from the start and she didn't like it. However, this was none of her business.
