A few days later, they had a team meeting at Denny's. Jamie, of course said he would accompany Chloe to which the woman said it was just for the team. However, he said he wanted to hang out with everyone so she reluctantly let him go.
"So first thing is first. I think we need to work on our footwork," Emily started as she glanced over at Jamie who had his arm wrapped around Chloe who looked down. She was sitting between him and Stacie with Benji to Stacie's right followed by Jesse which left Beca across Jesse, Aubrey to her right followed by Emily and then Cora and lastly, Amy sitting in front of Jamie staring him down.
"My footwork is great, thank you," Stacie smiled as she crossed her arms and leaned back.
"Sure, but we can't all be dancers," Beca laughed which caused Chloe to smile over at her. She then felt Jamie looking down at her and her smile slowly disappeared. To say there was tension between all of them was an understatement. You had Jamie, Chloe and Beca- the latter not understanding why anything was happening, Cora and Benji, and some weird argumentative tension between Cora and Aubrey. The last two haven't been getting along recently and neither of them really knew why other than they were getting annoyed at each other.
When Jamie came home with Chloe's new phone, she immediately went to text Beca back, but Jamie wouldn't let her. They got into a small argument, Chloe saying that if she didn't text Beca back, she would think something was up to which Jamie reluctantly agreed to let her text the brunette back.
"I agree with Emily," Aubrey cleared her throat to ease the tension that everyone knew was because Jamie was there. "I think we need to start taking the first half of practice to work on our footwork because we all suck."
"Speak for yourself, blondie," Cora leaned forward to look at Aubrey. "You look like a baby deer that's trying to stand up for the first time."
Aubrey gasped and the two engaged in a short lived argument that was immediately shut down by Amy.
"Guys, we're here to built unity and see where we're all at as a team and individually. This will all be pointless if you two wankers don't shut up for two minutes."
"Amy is right guys," Jamie spoke up and they all looked at one another, him meeting Amy's eyes.
"Oh, get stuffed," she replied dismissing him. "You're not even a part of this team therefore you have no say and whatever you do say is absolutely meaningless."
"I agree with Fat Amy," Cora quickly added, her attention now going to Jamie. "Why are you even here?"
"Chloe invited me," he smiled and the older redhead went to say something but felt his arm slightly squeeze her shoulder so she stopped.
"What, so you just take a few days off work and want to attend more meetings than you already do?" Cora rebutted. "Because that seems a little weird to me."
Everyone kept quiet as the two got into it, wishing that the meeting would conclude so they didn't have to sit in tension any longer.
"I wanted to hang out with you guys. What's wrong with that?" He questioned looking around at the group.
"Other than the fact that no one wants you here?" Cora tilted her head. "You never want to do anything that inconveniences you and your plans. For fuck's sake even when you're home you still go out and party with your friends."
"I don't see my friends very often so therefore I go and hang out with them. They might need help with something," Jamie tried but Cora just narrowed her eyes. She was getting more mad by the second and not just because of Jamie, but because Benji still wasn't talking to her; he wouldn't even look at her.
