"Oh come on, dude!" Beca whined as Max misplaced his paw and it landed on the side of his water bowl, knocking the whole thing over.
When she went to go clean up the mess that was her kitchen floor, there was a knock on the door. She groaned as she made a quick U-turn and opened the door.
"Oh, hi, Chloe," she immediately smiled. "Come in."
"Thank you," the redhead smiled as she stepped in, taking a look around the place.
"Just make yourself at home," Beca motioned to the living room. "Would you like a drink? Max just spilled his water all over the floor."
Chloe couldn't help but laugh at the woman's joke at her expense. When she didn't stop, Beca looked at her weird.
"It wasn't that funny, Chlo," she said but ended up laughing just as much.
"Come here boy," the redhead said, her voice going two octaves higher when the older dog came into view. Beca watched as she immediately crouched down to her knees and held her arms out for Max to just run into, nearly knocking her over. "How are you doing, buddy?"
Beca couldn't resist the urge to pull her phone out and take a quick photo, tossing her phone on the couch afterwards.
"Just give me a minute to clean up his mess and then I can get you a drink or something to eat if you want," Beca said and Chloe looked up at her. God, those beautiful baby blue eyes, she thought to herself.
"Take your time," Chloe smiled. She was so beautiful Beca got weak in the knees and nearly fell backwards. "Do you need any help?"
"No, I'm good. Just occupy him before he makes another mess." The two women laughed before Beca left, grabbing a towel to clean up all the water.
The whole she was cleaning up, she listened to Chloe talk and play with her dog."You were right, by the way," Beca said as she threw the towel into a hamper that was in her laundry room off to the side.
"About what?" Chloe asked looking up at Beca from her spot on the floor when she came back into the living room.
"About Max. I don't want to give him up and Emily loves taking him on walks." Beca leaned against the wall with her hands in the pockets of her jeans which caused Chloe to get up out of the floor.
Chloe's smile only grew. "I told you so," the redhead sang.
"Yeah yeah," Beca playfully rolled her eyes as she grabbed Chloe's hand and pulled her into the kitchen. It was a small gesture, but it sent tingles throughout her hand that radiated throughout her body. "Do you want water, milk, tea.. Emily and Cora made me buy juice boxes for them so they're in the fridge if you want those. A couple of fucking 12 year olds, I swear."
The redhead's heart melted for no reason at all other than the fact she found Beca incredibly adorable.
"Water is fine. Thank you," she answered softly.
Beca quickly did a 180 and opened a cabinet to reach for a glass only she couldn't. "I'm gonna kill her," she groaned before tossing her leg up on the counter and hoisting herself up to grab two cups.
"Who?" Chloe laughed and Beca jumped down.
"Emily. She likes to randomly come over here, eat all my food and put all the cups and bowls on the highest shelf possible," Beca explained as she filled the glasses up with the cold liquid.
"That's just what sisters do. Cora likes to take all my stuff and move it around at her convenience."
"I think Emily is just trying to test my patience. One day I'm gonna kill her. Or maybe I'll go over to her place and take all of her clothes out of her closet and put them in.." she stopped herself as a large, mischievous smile appeared and she looked at Chloe.
