The ten residents gathered around in a room as Sangyeon had ordered. They spoke among themselves until he cleared his throat and fixed their attentions towards him.

“I know that it's unusual for us to gather here at a time like this but...I just got a message from the officials and I think it's important for you all to know as well,” he paused to examine their expressions.

“Some of you might have already heard of this but the month of bedlam is just around the corner,” he stated, causing Jaehyun and Juyeon to glance at each other.

“It might be a new thing for you all since it only comes once every hundred years and I only took you in after the last bedlam ended, so, I believed it would be the best if I tell you all about it before it's too late.”

Younghoon raised a question, “What exactly is the month of bedlam?”

“Good question. It all started when a powerful wizard lost a fight against us and cursed us with this so-called bedlam. It really wasn't much of a problem until we started making contracts with humans and everything and everyone became frantic.”

“Frantic?” Chanhee tilted his head.

“Yeah, it's popularly known for the wrath everyone goes through along with the purple moon in the night to commemorate the fight that took place thousands of years ago. Greaters like me have gotten used to it but the problems are the lessers.”

“Does that mean we're going to be a problem when the time comes?” Jacob asked anxiously.

“Not really but...it depends on how you all handle it,” Sangyeon nodded.

Kevin looked at him, “What exactly is going to happen to us?”

Sangyeon hesitated, “The best example I can give you all is Eric. I believe he's having an early reaction, besides his high intake of Blanc. The desire to hurt someone can be strong, so I suggest you all distance yourselves from each other.”

“What about you?” Sunwoo asked, folding his arms.

“I've gone through this a lot of times. I'm pretty sure I can maintain myself around you guys. Chanhee, you be careful too. I think it'll be best if you stick with me since you're an easy target,” Sangyeon turned to Chanhee and the latter merely nodded.

“If humans like Chanhee are easy targets, should we tell Sinae and the others to stay away from here?” Haknyeon queried.

“Watanabe might've already told them about it. Their reactions from yesterday make a lot of sense,” Sangyeon stated and they all nodded in agreement.

“Let's hope he has,” Jaehyun mumbled.

The room fell silent until Sangyeon spoke up, “Alright, I suppose we're done with this now. Remember to come to me if you feel a bit off with yourself, we'll try to figure it out before things get out of hand.”

They started taking their leave one by one when Sangyeon noticed Changmin, “Uh, Changmin? Don't you have any questions?”

“No, why?” Changmin turned to him with an innocent look.

“Well, you always have a question in mind. Are you sure you don't have one?”

“Yeah, not right now. I'll let you know when I do,” Changmin smiled and walked away.

Jacob and Haknyeon sat in silence inside Eric's room while Eric was still deep in slumber. Haknyeon stared at his asleep figure, wondering how long he had been asleep.

“Isn't it time for him to wake up by now?” He turned to Jacob.

Jacob looked at him before focusing on Eric, “Now that you've mentioned it, yeah. He's supposed to be awake by now. I gave him a shot in the morning that would wear off just after dinner.”

“Unless you gave him another shot in the afternoon and you forgot about it? He's not even moving an inch,” Haknyeon stated.

“No, I'm sure I only gave— hold on...” Jacob paused as he recalled browsing through his shelves.

“What is it?” Haknyeon tilted his head.

“I think I was one syringe short when I was organising my room earlier today,” Jacob looked at Haknyeon, flustered.

The latter returned a panicked look, “Are you saying that someone took it without you knowing?”

“This is bad,” Jacob mumbled, his eyes trembling, “Who would even think about doing this among us?”

“No one has ever laid their hands on your stuff without your permission. Will his condition get worse because of it?”

“No, we can just wake him up now. I'm surprised that someone would give him another shot without telling me first,” Jacob uttered in disbelief.

Haknyeon looked around, “Maybe they accidentally woke him up and forgot to tell you about it, since Sangyeon suddenly called for us.”

Jacob nodded, “Makes sense, Jaehyun and Juyeon were the last ones to be here so I'll ask them about it later.”

Haknyeon turned to Eric and shook him, “It's time to wake up, Eric. It's not good for you to go a whole day without your meal.”

Eric instantly winced upon waking up and shook his head vigorously, “I'm not hungry. Where is Sinae?”

“She's not here. You need to get up or else you won't get a chance to see her again,” Jacob spoke and was ready to help Eric sit up.

Eric tiredly looked over at Jacob, “What is happening to me? I came here for eternal life. Why am I on the verge of dying again?”

“You're not dying, Eric,” Jacob reassured.

“But you just said—”

“He meant that you need to take care of yourself so that you can see Sinae again and enjoy your eternal life to the fullest,” Haknyeon spoke in behalf of Jacob.

Eric remained silent as he sat up before asking once again, “What exactly is wrong with me?”

Haknyeon sighed, “You know it. You took Blanc for years without any Rouge after it. We warned you about it and you're just facing the consequences right now.”

“Or maybe I like Sinae,” Eric mumbled.

Jacob raised his brows, “Excuse me?”

Eric looked up at them, his eyes glistening, “Maybe I am in love with Sinae.”

i got a lot to say but i'll only say this.
i'm leaving again for another year or
less because of school. i didn't write
anything for this because i was busy
editing my other work TDD the past
two months during my vacation (;-;)
this is already a lot so goodbye~ </3
