Chapter 90: Epilogue

"Mommy, dad's not waking up again," an energetic, kid's voice tore through the kitchen.
"Again?" you grinned. You knelt down and gestured for the little girl to come close. "I have a secret, can you keep it?"

(G/N) nodded eagerly. You leaned towards her ear. "Dad can't handle pillow fights. He'll always let you win. Use it against him." You nudged her as her eyes went wide with mischief. "Got it," she squeaked and scrambled towards the bedroom.

5, 4, 3, 2, and.... you counted down mentally, ... 1. As soon as you finished the countdown, you heard a scream from down the hallway, unmistakably Bender's. He staggered down the hallway, holding a pillow to his chest panel dramatically. "I've been killed! Brutally, brutally murdered." He poked his head around to see if (G/N) was watching. "And with this, I perish."

He crumbled to the ground in an over-the-top manner, exaggerating his "death." (G/N) rushed to his side, giggling. She tried to reach for the pillow but he immediately stopped playing dead and grabbed her, tossing her lightly into the air. "I got you! There's no escaping, muahahaha!"

A small robot walked up towards you from the parent's bedroom, his metallic eyes wide. He quickly procured a pillow from behind himself (how was it not noticeable? he was tiny!) and tossed it at Bender.
"(B/N)!! How dare you! I declare war!!! War, I say!!" he pretended to stomp his feet harshly and snatched up (B/N) in his other hand.

You couldn't help but smile at the three of them, all laughing and playing. What a life you'd chosen for yourself. Bender proposed to you about 10 years ago now. You could remember that day so clearly. You walked into work for the day only to find that he had put on a surprise for you. He ended on one knee, his eyes somewhat tears as he asked you to be his wife. You remember crying... a lot. It was such an notional moment and you could hardly remember a time you felt happier.

The ceremony was simple and with close friends. Everyone at Planet Express was there, of course, all incredibly happy for you. Even Calcutron showed up! Everyone hugged you (not Bender, who despises most hugs) and made special note to mention how much nicer Bender had become generally speaking. Granted, he was still brash and had a massive potty mouth (the poor kids... not a fantastic influence, you admit). But he was more honest with his feelings, was definitely kinder as the whole, and was probably the most unlikely best father ever.

The two of you decided to adopt a human child, and help create a robotic one. It felt as though it suited both of your wants, and Bender cried the day the adoption papers came in.

You still worked at Planet Express, but only part-time. Missions became more safe, since it felt as though much more was on the line. You both now had a family, kids to look after. This was the push the professor needed to get started with more safety measures. Hermès helped out tremendously.

You flashed back to reality, staring at your two kids. "I love you all, you know that?" you sighed happily, wiping off pancake mix from your fingers onto your apron. Bender gently let the two of them down, walked up towards you, and kissed you.
"Ewwww!!" both kids screamed and ran away. Bender could only help but laugh.

"I love you. I love this. I love... all of it." Bender pressed his head against yours.
"You have no idea what you mean to me. You're more than the world itself."
"Thank you," he hugged you, something he often didn't initiate.
"For what? And... thank you too."
"For what?"
"For loving me too."

With that, the two rascals ran back to you.
"So what are we doing next, mom?" (G/N) asked, her (H/C) hair bouncing as the girl hopped from foot to foot.
"Whatever you'd like."

As you walked back into their bedrooms, you felt a wave of gratitude wash over you again. You held Bender in. tight embrace, and relished everything.

Oh how beautiful your life had become.

I can't believe we're here. Seriously!

In full disclosure, I feel as though this ending is abrupt... however, I am planning on rewriting this book entirely, keeping the plot, and developing scenes such as the neko planet one, the wedding, the proposal, etc. So if you like this, please stay tuned and check out the first published chapter of the remake on my profile!
