_______________You were speechless, as were the other girls.
Calculon looked so embarrassed. And...awkward. It was funny, but you were still in awe that:
1) someone had saved you
2) you were not going to die and
3) OMG IT'S CALCULON YOUR IDOL *fangirls and dies*."C-calculon?" One of the other robo-girls said incredulously.
"Hi." Calculon said in his familiar regal voice. He coughed quietly before continuing. "I was hoping to spend some quality time with you," he addressed the ladies. You could tell that Calculon was more than uncomfortable with this prospect, but you honestly had no idea what was going on.
The robo-women ran towards Calculon because WHO ISN'T GOING TO SPEND TIME WITH CALCULON I MEAN SERIOUSLY PEOPLE PLEASE. Calculon backed away from the doorway slowly, out of awkwardness, but it seemed planned...?
Calculon nodded at you before running, the robo-women on his heels.
You tried to form words but all that came out was gibberish. Whose idea was this anyway? Calculon didn't go to these places - he hated them, and he publicly said so. What in heck made him come here? And rescue you? What even?
Before you could continue, you felt a pounding sensation in your head and the corners of your vision went white. You felt your eyes roll to the back of your head as you collapsed to the floor.
You woke up a moment later back in... YOUR OWN BODY!
You were so overjoyed you wanted to- collapse to the floor? No, that wasn't it. You still did it anyway. But it wasn't out of happiness.
You realized that you had pushed yourself too hard. Your lungs hurt when you took a breath - you must've tired yourself out with all the sprinting-away-from-robo-chicks you had been doing. You trembled at how close you had gotten to being hurt. Just one more second and they would've had their hands on Bender's main control panel.
You felt alone. And scared. It had been too close. There were too many question swirling in your mind. You were glad to have your body back, sure, but you still felt like a hollowed cask. Too close. the two words resonated in your mind like a broken record. You felt tears swarm into your eyes again. Why had you been so helpless? Why did you depend on Bender? Why hadn't he showed up? Why were you so weak?
You couldn't keep the tears from spilling out- they came.
"(Y/N)? Oh I hope I'm not too late!" You heard a voice outside. You then saw the familiar outline of the person you had just been thinking about.
"(Y/N)? Are you okay?!" Bender said, running towards you. He had switched bodies too - he was back in his original body as well. You gave him a pained smile.
"They better not have touched you. I swear, if they did I'll give them a lesson they'll never forget!" Bender growled, rolling up his metal-sleeves.
You touched him gently. Your body ached with every movement. "I-I'm o-okay, r-r-really..." You managed, before more tears spilled out.
"No, you're not. You're crying again, and that makes me sad." Bender said, angry at himself. Which was odd, considering he always said that he didn't have emotions, let alone announcing them in public.
He knelt right in front of you. "What did they do to you?" He said in his familiar slurred voice.
"N-nothing. Really, honestly and t-truly. I just got... s-scared. I'm a huge wimp." You admitted, a waterfall spouting out of your eyes.
"You may be a wimp, but you're still strong. I'm surprised you managed it this far. For someone with an innocent mind...long story short I get it and..." Bender looked away. "I'm sorry."
You looked at him with an expression like someone had just smacked you with a pan.
"S-sorry? For what?" You sniffled, looking into his optics which were inches away from your face.
He looked you in the eye this time. "I put it off. I was right there, and saving you would've been a breeze, but no. I didn't. And you almost got hurt because of it."
You looked up at him gratefully.
"Let's go home, shall we?" He said, standing up and holding out a hand. You slowly took it. He pulled you to your feet abruptly, causing you to yelp in pain.
"What did I do?" Bender said worriedly.
"Nothing." You grit your teeth. The tears had stopped but they threatened to come again. "I- I am hurt, but from running away from them I think." You confessed, before collapsing to the floor again, your knees giving way from underneath you.
"And I'm guessing you can't morph?" Bender said, piecing it all together.
"Nope." You said sadly, your head hung.
Before you knew it, you felt strong arms under your shoulders and knees. Bender was carrying you bridal style. You knew you were probably blushing, but you curled your head next to Bender's metallic chest. It felt comforting, as always. You couldn't even move to protest, not that you were going to anyway.
Bender walked all the way home with you in his arms.
