I don't even have words to describe how bad I feel about not updating...

I just started high school, so I'll try to make a better effort to update.

I could sit here all day making excuses, but I've...
been going through a lot lately and I'm trying to get through it.

"That was surprisingly fun!" You said cheerfully once the whole gang had gotten back from Planet Express.
"Yeah!" Fry agreed.

"Now that you guys are together," Leela began and you felt your cheeks flush. "You should play the game Bender loves to play."
Bender frowned. "I don't love to play games!" He crossed his arms.

"Uh-huh, yeah, sure. Just mention the whole captain role playing game and he goes nuts." Leela said to you.
"Except for that. I do play that!" Bender said, getting oddly excited.

"The what?" You asked while Bender shot you an excited look.
"WE ARE PLAYING THIS GAME RIGHT NOW BYE LOSERS." Bender grabbed your metal wrist and dragged you to the inside of the ship.
"Have fun!" Leela called out.
"FRY COME OVER HERE AND PLAY WITH US." Bender yelled from the ship.
"Alright, alright, I'm coming." Fry jogged up the ramp and into the ship. 

"I'm really confused as to how this game works..." You admitted, sitting in one of the chairs.
"It's super simple! I'm the captain," Bender said in a strangely energetic voice. "And you would probably be the first mate."
"I thought I was always the first mate!" Fry pouted.
"Times change!" Bender said and grabbed a captain's hat from his chest compartment and put it on his head. You wondered if he always had it in his panel in case such moment would arise, but that seemed inconvenient.

"Well, I'll be second mate then. So if (Y/N) dies, I'll be first mate!"
Bender stopped. "She is NOT going to die." He said angrily. Then he became cheerful again. Before he could say anything again, Leela ran into the ship and dragged you out. "Look, if you want to play this game, you're going to need a costume. Fry has his hat, and Bender... has the full getup, but that's not important. The point is, you can use this." She held out a costume that looked like a long suit dress. It had a very sailorly feel to it.

You felt your cheeks grow warm as you grabbed it.
"Just slip it on top of your clothes," Leela nodded as you pulled it over your head. You looked down at yourself. "I look ridiculous." You giggled.
"Bender is going to love you for the rest of his life." Leela grinned. "Now go in there and kick his shiny metal ass."
You nodded. "Thanks Leela!" You said before running into the ship.

"Alright we mu-" He said then saw you and stopped. Fry stared at you too. You felt your cheeks turn red.
"Uh, Leela lent it to me..." You mumbled.
You heard Bender mutter, "Wow" before coughing awkwardly and slipping back into his character.

"All right, we must steer the ship into space!" He said gallantly.

"But sir," you said, attempting to get into character, "if we do, the great pirate captain Leela will kill us!"
Bender let out a girlish squeal and shot you a look of pride. Then he got back into his character.

"Nevertheless, we must continue! We have an important mission!" Bender said.
"I shall navigate the controls, Captain. I've been paying close attention to Lee- to the helmsman, and she's not here." You said.
"I order you to navigate the ship!" Bender pointed while you sprinted over and grabbed the controls.

"Close the door!" You said quickly. Fry jumped out of his seat and sprinted over to the door and closed it.

"Buckle in!" Fry said while you, Bender and Fry hopped into the seats.

"Captains don't need buckles!" Bender retorted. You stood up and sighed. "Permission to defy the Captain?"
"Permission denied," Bender said flatly.

You swallowed, pretending to look defeated, then, quick as a flash, you shoved him into his chair and buckled him in.
"My apologies, but I'd rather have my Captain alive," you said apologetically, then marched into your seat and buckled up.

Fry gave an impressed look to Bender who was grinning from ear to ear.

You turned the ignition on, causing a look of surprise to appear on both of their faces.
"Wait, we are actually going t-" Fry frowned.
"Who cares lets go!" Bender interrupted.

You felt your breath grow slightly shaky. You had never flown before, but you hadn't been lying when you said you had seen Leela drive it. How hard could it be?

You turned on the engines and placed one hand on the throttle. You flipped the switch that turned on the engines. The ship shook a little as they ignited.
"You ready?" You said, talking more to yourself.

"Hell yeah!" Fry and Bender answered in unison.

You turned the switch that opened up the Planet Express building's sunroof so the ship could leave the building. You slowly pulled up on the vertical throttle until the ship steadily made its way up and out of the building. You heard angry and confused yelling from Planet Express, but you didn't care. You were flying! You had navigated the ship! Feeling a surge of confidence, you stepped on the gas and the ship zoomed around.

Bender and Fry had a lot of fun in the ship. You did flips and dodged between buildings. They laughed and had smiled plastered to their faces the whole time.

And you?

You were just happy that you could be a part of it.

Chapter 78

You arrived back at Planet Express after you guys had spent an exhilarating period of time flying around and putting the ship into orbit a few times. Your head spun. Everything had gone so fast.

"Time flies when you're having fun, right?" Fry said, crawling out of the ship behind you.
"You bet," you said breathlessly, laughing.

Bender walked out and stared at you. Oh right, the dress, you thought, turning slightly red. It was over your clothes, so you quickly took it off and ran off to find Leela. You found her quickly enough and gave her back the dress.

"And?" Leela asked, hinting about the result of the dress.
"He loved it..." you mumbled shyly.
"Didn't I tell ya? Anyway, you're welcome."
"Thanks again."
"No problem."

After you had thanked her, you ran out of the kitchen. You sprinted quickly all the way back to the ship. The scenery around you became a desolate blur as your feet pounded against the floor.

"(Y/N) watch out!" You heard a voice cried out too late as you smashed into a metal grey figure.

You collapsed and everything went black.
