Chapter 24

One month later twins are two months old

Erin POV

My spider sense has been going overboard for days, something is going to happen. There's been walkers like you wouldn't believe lots more like something is herding them towards us. Daryl thought I was crazy I packed two go bags with everything I thought that the babies would need that I grab quickly if the shit hits the fan.

Maggie is developing quite the cute baby bump she's lucky that it's just a single baby, Glenn is very protective of her.

"These babies are so cute Erin you're so lucky you got one of each your family is complete."

"Oh I wouldn't say that I would love more Dixon's the world needs more men like him."

"So no stopping you two rabbits huh?"

"Maybe I mean we do all the time when the babies aren't awake or needing us so there's always a chance."

"You mean you still have sex now?"

"Why wouldn't I? My hubby is sexy."

The next thing we see is Eric running into the house.

"Raiders there's raiders in amongst the dead they've disguised themselves as the dead the walkers aren't noticing them."

"Oh god Daryl."

"Oh god Glenn."

"Girls settle they are okay Aaron told me to make sure you were okay.

"Okay I've planned for this do you think they know about the back exit to this place? Not many know about it." I run into the babies rooms start getting their go bags ready. I then head to my room and get changed into my camouflage gear and grab my knifes, pistols, rifle and ammo.

"What are you doing?"

"I'm getting what I need we will be leaving here today this isn't going to end well they have the numbers including the walkers to hurt us."

"We have to stay here. That's what Aaron said so we are staying."

"Well I'm not brother are you coming with me cause I need you to carry Hunter. I can only carry one and I'm not leaving one of my babies behind. Maggie it's your choice if you stay or go but I'm not staying."

"Erin you need to stay it might be okay."

"I'm not staying on a maybe. I need to protect my kids."

"Fine sis I'm going with you only cause this is crazy. Daryl is going to kill me for letting you go."

"I'm staying I can't leave Glenn but if it goes down I will. Stay safe okay. Look after these two and yourselves. Come here sister." She hugged me.

"You too look after yourself. I'll be back in a one day to see what happened.

And with that I walked out the door. All I can see is black smoke and the smell of burnt meat which causes Shelley to start crying.

"Come on Eric we have to go. It's all gone."

"We don't know that it might not be."

"I'm not willing to risk my kids on a maybe. We will come back I promise in a day to see what happened."

It didn't take long to get to the back end of the town, and I picked the lock and walked outside. We climbed a hill all we could see was fire and smoke and moans from the dead. I turned and started walking.

Daryl POV

I give these guys an A for inventiveness disguising themselves with the dead and herding them towards us, there must have been a couple of hundred dead and God only knows how many humans.

"I have a wild idea." Said Abraham.

"What is it?"

"How much fuel do we have?

"A fair lot. Why?"

"We can burn the bastards. Yeah it mightn't kill the dead but it will make it harder to move and might kill most of them."

"I like your thinking Abe. Let's get to it." We ran to the tanker we had yeah this probably gonna drain our fuel supplies but there's too many to fight. I can hear Sasha and Spencer doing a good job hitting as many as possible. But they'll run outta bullets before they kill them all.

"What we do is snake the hose under the gate turn it on and let it drain and light it up."

"I love walker BBQ." We got the tanker to the gate and set it up. Then Aaron and Eric ran toward the gate.

"What can we do? What needs to be done?"

"Aaron you just do your medic thing, Eric you need to keep an eye on Erin you know how she is, she'll wanna help and I don't want her to one of us has to stay alive and they need her more then me."

"Okay I'll look after her.

"And stay safe I love you Eric."

"I don't intend to be reckless do I?

And with that I see Eric run towards my house and my family he will keep them safe.

When we thought we'd used enough fuel I gave Abraham my lighter and told him this was his pony show. He bent and lit it. The next thing the fuel and the walkers started burning.

"Awesome idea man."

"Burn baby burn. Motherdicks." We high fived each other and watched them burn and then the screaming started I think the walkers started noticing the humans and they were taking care of them. It was a thing of weird beauty watching these walkers at the gate burning still trying to get in.

Three hours later...

It was done a majority of the dead were finished and those that weren't were easy enough to dispose of, the next thing I see is Maggie come racing up to us, Glenn is trying to hold her back.

"Daryl she's gone!"

"Who Erin? Gone where?"

"She freaked out grabbed her bags and Eric and left with the babies I couldn't stop her she thought this place was gone."

"Where'd she go? How long and why didn't you say something earlier?"

"Hey don't talk to Maggie like that."

"She left as soon as Eric turned up so three or so hours ago. She went running with the babies toward the back gate."

"Dammit woman! Rick I gotta go find my family."

"Want anyone with you?"

"Do we have any injured? If not I'm taking Aaron seeming his partners has gone as well."

I run toward the clinic and find Aaron there I explained what happened and he said lets meet up after we grab our things, I can only hope Erin has forgotten how to be sleathy as I'll never find her unless she wants to be found.
