Erin POV
"Okay mrs Dixon you are all set up the anaesthesiologist will be here shortly to prep you for your operation."
"Thanks okay."
"Ma'am you will be fine you have two of the best doctors looking after you. And one of them has the same surname as you."
"Yeah dr Dixon is my son."
"You must be proud of him?"
"I'm very proud of all my kids.
"You've done a good job with dr Dixon he's very popular the nurses all love him. I'll leave you two he shouldn't be too long."
"Thanks."
"So Erin I know you are scared but there is no need you will be fine I'll be there as soon as you get out of recovery. Then everything will be okay. Your heart will be okay. You'll probably outlive me."
"I love you Daryl. Always have always will."
"Same here babe. Always babe."
"Hi mom."
"Erica you came."
"Yeah George and Billy are outside, Jennifer said she will try and be here soon."
"I'm glad you came ask the boys to come in."
Erica walk to the door and tells the boys to come in.
"Hello boys."
"Hi mom. You okay?"
"Yeah boys just nervous."
"You'll be fine mom." George said.
"I'm sure Hunter knows what he is doing mom."
"Thank you boys for being here for your dad he's gonna need you."
"We will be mom don't you worry about think just think of getting better so you will be able to play with the grand kids."
"Mom you just rest and everything is going to be alright."
"Okay everyone you'll need to leave we need to have the patient ready for surgery."
"Babe we will be outside."
The anaesthesiologist came in and inserted the needle into my hand and the nurses helped me onto the gurney and I was rolled out of the room. Daryl was walking beside the gurney holding my hand.
"Erin baby everything will be fine, you will be okay. I'm not going anywhere honey. I love you. You are my everything darling."
"I know baby you're my everything too. You are the other reason my heart skips it's beat."
Daryl leaned down and kissed me, I kissed him back.
"Okay mom you ready?"
"As I'll ever be Hunter." As I'm rolled into the operating room.
"Daryl babe. I'll catch you on the flip side darling."
"Yeah babe."
I was placed on the table and set me up.
"Okay Erin I need you to count backwards from ten
10 9 8 7 6......"
I fell asleep dreaming of my family.
In the operating theatre...
