"Kami damn it. We shouldn't have ran. We should have taken on those monsters." Tiehshinhan growled as he made his way to the Crane School.

"But Tien, we should follow his orders like Master Shen said." Chiaotzu said, fearful of what their new employer would do. He had an unusual and intimidating way about him that made the little mime shake in his shoes.

"Don't worry Chiaotzu, Master Shen brought him in for a reason. I don't think he would bother you, but if he does remember that I am always here for you buddy." Tien said, giving a reassuring smile.

"I still have a bad feeling about it." Chiaotzu commented.

"We will get through this. If he has a long term plan to defeat Master Roshi and the Turtle Hermit School, then I'm game. Besides, all he is asking us is to win the Tournament and get rid of some hero in a devil's costume, that's a small price to pay for what the Crane School needs." Tien said as he and Chiaotzu finally made their way to the entrance of the infamous Crane School. There, standing outside and looking anxious was Master Shen, the leader of said Crane School.

"You're late." Master Shen said, grimacing at his two most prized students.

"Sorry master, I thought you didn't mind us playing a con on some villagers." Tien apologized.

"I don't mind you two beating or even slaughtering Roshi's students either, it's what my brother Tao would have wanted after all. Unfortunately, now we have to answer to him now." Shen stated.

"I don't see how sparing Roshi's students now will help our situation when we have to face them again on even ground." Tien commented, agreeing with his master. He could tell that over these past few months that Master Shen had been losing faith in their benefactor's grand plan, but if that's the case he didn't know why Shen hadn't gotten rid of him by now. It was true the Crane School's benefactor had connections unlike no other, but if Chiaotzu was right about him then...

"Come, he's inside and doesn't seem to be in the most joyful of moods." Master Shen said as he ventured inside.

"When is he ever in a truly happy mood?" Tien asked as he and Chiaotzu followed Shen inside. There, standing with his back towards them and with a cell phone up to his ear, was a seemingly obese bald man in a white business suit. Although he wasn't sitting on any throne, Tien didn't like the man felt like he was the sole proprietor the Crane School....his home.

"Has our new candidates been successful in the bank robbery Wesley?" The man asked.

"Unfortunately there was a complication of the superhero kind." Wesley responded.

"Tell me, was it the Devil of Hell's Kitchen?" The man asked.

"No, it seems that there is a new hero calling herself Rescue." Wesley answered.

"If that is the case, then it's probably some upstart looking for some fun and publicity, unaware of our operations. Nevertheless, see to it that our new recruits are taken care of...permanently." The man ordered.

"Very well, should I look for new hires in the bank robbing profession?" Wesley asked.

"Launch, the former Colonel Violet, Hasky, and Black Cat are the best in the business, so we have to start interviews after the close of the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament. Especially with Baron Zemo employing Hasky, Launch and Violet being our new adversaries, and Black Cat in the wind. Let's just be patient. See you when I make my return to West City." The man responded. Tien twitched a bit when Launch's name was mentioned, which Shen was able to pick up on. Could Tien have mixed feelings about her?

"My apologies for keeping you on hold, such is the life of a busy man. Running several businesses based on unsavory means can at times leave you with a full schedule." The man said as he turned around to the three martial artists, revealing himself to be Wilson Fisk, better known as the Kingpin.
