"Alright everyone! Are you ready to begin?!" The Tournament Announcer shouted as Norman Osborn went to join him on stage with Harry close enough off stage where his father could keep an eye on him. The crowd erupted with cheers as Wolverine, Krillin, Violet, and Yamcha made their way over to where Goku/Venom, Launch/Pistole, and Rescue were. Tien looked over with Chiaotzu, gazing at the group of fighters who had mostly trained under Master Roshi. He hadn't noticed Daredevil yet of course, not knowing he was blind.
"So those are the guys Master Shen instructed me to defeat." Bullseye said out loud.
"They look strong Tien, especially the symbiotes we encountered yesterday morning." Chiaotzu said.
"Yeah, your probably right. Though it's not going to end up the same way as last morning. I will beat them." Tien said as he continued his gaze at Launch, his heart quickening it's pace.
"Alright. Time to have fun." Yamcha said.
"What in Kami's name possessed you to hook up with this guy?" Jarvis asked Bulma.
"Don't ask." Rescue mumbled under her breath with those few who could hear her not really paying any mind.
"This is how it's going to go. Some of you may already know, but for those who are newcomers let me explain." The Tournament Announcer said into the mic. "There are eight rings all around which you will all gather to when I call your name. Your name will be chosen from this bowl containing all your names. The winner of each ring will be allowed to advance to the quarterfinals. Is that clear?"
Of course, nearly everyone responded with a yes or an equivalent of that, signifying that the Tournament Announcer was allowed to move on to the next part of his speech.
"Oh, just to make it clear, there has been a change in the tournament rules that are only exclusive to the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament and no other future tournaments. The fighter is allowed to use nonlethal weapons in combat. Still any killing or killing intent is strictly probited." The Announcer said as half the people booed while the other half cheered. Rescue looked down slightly embarrassed as Norman shook his head, knowing there would be a decisive audience concerning this topic.
"Okay, I know I am more carefree than Master Roshi about this rule change, but why make it in the first place?" Yamcha asked.
"Beats me. Maybe Bulma knows something." Krillin said as Rescue refrained from saying a word.
"And the guilty party doesn't say anything." Jarvis commented.
"Shut up." Rescue said under her breath.
"Okay, next up are the participants for Block A." The Tournament Announcer said as he reached into the bowl. "And the first fighter is....I need Amanda Hugginkiss?"
With that, the whole crowd erupted in laughter with Violet being the loudest. Only Tien and Goku/Venom where the only ones not laughing since the joke passed over their heads.
"Amanda Huggingkiss! That is so funny! I hope it was that it was the wheelchair clerk from earlier, he should be recognized for his great effort." Violet said in between laughs.
"We don't get it." Venom said as he tilted his head with curiosity.
"Oh come you big lug, you should be able to get it by now. A man to hug and kiss? It was a prank like last time." Launch pointed out as she spelled out the joke once she had calmed down laughing.
"How is that?" Venom asked as Launch saw from the corner of her eye that Tien wasn't laughing either.
"It's just....never mind." Launch said as she rolled her eyes.
