Alright, let's do this one last time. My name is Y/N Parker. I'm... well, still working on the "friendly neighbourhood" part, but I'm your local Spider-Vigilante.

I was born with a quirk, a gift I inherited from my dad. The power of a spider. Wall-crawling? Check. Web-shooting? Check. Actually, uncheck that. I don't shoot webs out of me; that'd be disgusting. Punch that'll send a thug through drywall? Double check. And my ace in the hole? Spider-Sense. That slight tingle that says: duck now or regret it later.

When I was younger, I dreamed of being a pro hero. Like, billboard-famous, part of the big three. I got that from Uncle Ben, yeah, that Uncle Ben. He was a pro, and not just any pro, the coolest one around. My hero, my role model. But here's the thing about pros: you don't exactly get to stay anonymous. And when bad people come knocking... well, I learned the hard way. I watched him die right in front of me.

That was the day I realised the spotlight wasn't for me. If being a pro meant putting everyone I love in danger? Then no thanks.

So I put on a mask. I don't want fame, sponsors, or some merch line with my face on it. I want to protect. And for the past two years, that's exactly what I've done. No end-of-the-world villains yet, no battles with the League of Villains, just keeping the little guy safe. Pickpockets, muggers, the occasional guy with a knife and too much sake.

Would it be cool to face off against a big-time villain? Yeah, sure. But I don't need that to know who I am.

My favourite pro? Captain America, America's number two hero. The guy's got no ego, no gimmick, no cheap merch. Just a shield, a will of steel, and a heart that won't quit. That's the type of hero I want to be.

And don't get me wrong, it hasn't been easy. I've got thugs gunning for me, cops chasing me, pros hunting me down for breaking the "no vigilantism" law. Half the city thinks I'm a menace, the other half thinks I'm an urban legend. But none of that matters.

Because saving people? That's in my blood. And nothing, and I mean nothing, is gonna change that.

Doing a quick backflip, I zipped through an open office window, sprinting across desks, papers flying in my wake. One more leap, one more window, and suddenly, air. The city opened up beneath me, the wind rushing past as I swung forward, weightless.

That's the thing about swinging. Even if I wasn't saving people, I couldn't give this up. It's freedom. It's flight. It's... everything.

I launched myself past a water tower, rolling onto a rooftop and tugging my mask halfway up to gulp fresh air.

"Okay... what's that, like, twenty thousand steps worth of swinging? At least I worked off that burrito."

Pulling out my phone, I flicked through today's checklist.
Saved three people from a falling bus.
Stopped a robbery.
Saved a woman's cat, got paid in churros.
Aunt May's eggs ...still pending.

Not bad for a Tuesday.

I plopped down on the ledge, scrolling aimlessly through my feed. The city buzzed below, alive and loud, but for once I felt... still. I wasn't ready to head home yet. Not while the night still had tricks up its sleeve.

Then, like clockwork, the world reminded me who I was. A police siren wailed, sharp and close.

"Hey! Spider guy! Yeah, you!"

I peered over the edge to see an officer waving me down; his uniform looked odd, not the usual ones from around here. Hesitant, I pointed at myself. Me? A shrug later, I hopped down, landing with a soft thud.
