Issue 18 - Something about Responsibility

"We need to hurry, May; Tony has already told us we're running out of time."

Crouched down, I stared through the crack of my bedroom door, seeing Uncle Ben and Aunt May rushing around packing. May held a photo frame fondly breaking down. "Why is this happening? She won't take Y/N."

"Don't worry; we won't let her," Ben states as I slowly open the door, confused. "Hey sport, did we wake you?"

Shaking my head, I looked around, confused. "What's going on, Uncle Ben?"

Crouched down, he placed a hand on my shoulder, smiling. "We're... We're going on holiday, a very long holiday. To Japan, how does that sound?"

Smiling, I began striking a pose laughing. "That's where the number one hero, All Might, is!"

"Yes, yes. We can meet All Might; how about you go and pack your stuff? Only take what's important ok?"

Nodding, I ran back into my room, tearing down the Captain America and All Might posters. Gripping my Hulk teddy tightly, I looked out over the view of New York with a fond smile. Making sure to pack all of my toys, I felt a tingle. Turning around, I saw something fly past the window. Running out, I saw Iron Man come in through the balcony. "Tony, how is it looking?"

"We're holding her back the best we can. We know she'll stop at nothing to get to Y/N with Peter gone. I've got a commercial flight booked for you three. If you took the private jet, she'd know."

Ben nodded. "Thank you, Tony; we're sorry we left this to you."

Iron Man shook his head. "Don't even mention it, Ben. You've done plenty for us in the past. Falcon will escort you to the airport. This isn't goodbye, old friend."

Iron Man turned to me, taking off his mask and kneeling down. "How are you doing, kid? You excited for Japan?"

Nodding, I put my backpack on. "Sure am! I haven't been on holiday before, though..."

"Well, kid, you'll love it, trust me." Iron Man stated, kneeling and taking off one of his gauntlets. "Here, I want you to have this. You take good care of it, alright? Only use it when you're in trouble, alright?"

Taking the gift, I was awestruck, spinning around. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!"

Aunt May kept tugging me, whimpering. "We need to go Y/N."

"Ben, May. I promise you, I'll do everything in my power to stop Wanda. We will save her, all of us."

My eyes flickered open as I found myself lying in a bed. Slowly sitting up, I noticed I was somehow in the nurse's room. Moving, I winced in pain, seeing bandages wrapped around me. Looking at my trembling hand, I whispered to myself. "I haven't thought of that day in a long time... Why now?"

"Y/N?!" I turned my head to see Peni sitting in the chair next to me. "You're awake!"

"Oh, hey Peni... What are you doing here?"

"Checking in on you, dummy!" She snapped, wiping her eyes. "We were all so worried. You've been out cold for three days."

"Three days... Last I remember." My eyes widened as I tried moving, holding my waist. "The villain attack! Is everyone alright?!"

Peni tried to calm me down by replying. "Everyone is fine. Nothing but minor injuries, all thanks to the Pros, the teachers and you."

Sitting back down, I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank God for that. And Electro?"

"They've sent him off to Ryker's Island; they made sure of it this time around."

"At least that's one loose end tied up. Man Electro was tough... Probably the most powerful villain I've ever fought. But I prevailed alright!"
