I run as fast as I can. The black wolf's hot breath hits the back of my heels. I run faster, and kick out. I hear it snarl, and I scream out when it burys its fangs in my ankle. I look back and see its ice blue eyes glaring back at me in anger. 'Till we meet again its voice rings in my mind. I slam the door shut, leaning against it. I look down at my feet. On my left foot, was a tattoo of a wolf with its head titled back in a howl. "Kane!" I call, hoping my brother comes. I wait and I don't hear his feet pounding down the stairs. I carefully walk up the stairs, turning to go to his room. What I find makes me scream again. Laying on his bed, is a dark charcoal wolf with mismatched eyes. A midnight blue, and a chocolate brown eye. There is only one person with those eyes, my brother Kane.
I take a step back and it raises its head. It stares into my dark brown almost black eyes. It growls and I take another step back. A cloud of navy blue smoke envelops it, and the sound of bones snapping echoes throughout the room. I open my eyes to see my brother staring at me. "What happened to you, Alexa?" He asks me. I breath rapidly then answer him, "A black wolf chased me here." Kane's head snaps up. "I think it's time you knew the family secret." He says, making me look up.
