Chapter 12: Ace's Pack

We walk through the forest for a while and I start to worry. "Alexa, relax. If I can smell your worry then others can too." I shake my head and his head snaps up. He turns around and his green eyes meet mine. The longer I hold his gaze, the more breathless I become. He smirks, "Knew you couldn't resist my amazingly good looks." I scoff and point forward, "Are we gonna go or what?" "So impatient." He mumbles, shaking his head. I resist the urge to hit him. We keep walking and my wolf perks up. Not again. I say in my mind. I shut my eyes against the pain. The feeling of needles hooking and pulling my skin attacks me. I grind my teeth together and stop. "What now?" He asks annoyed. He turns and his eyes widen. I touch my mouth, and feel my teeth sharpening and my jaws extending. "Turn away." I try to say. He comes forward slowly, "Alexa, are you okay?" I reach out and see my hand turning into a black paw. Confused whines escape me and I look at myself. I curl into a ball and wait it out. "Shit." He says, making me look up. His eyes are wide and fear holds my heart. "I wouldn't have thought you looked like Stefan Sinclair up close. Those eyes..." He says whilst looking into my eyes, searching for something. "Well c'mon. The house is past this woodland." I stand up shakily, my head spinning. I take unsure steps then fall. "Alexa!" I lift my head, seeing Kane. He stands over me, growling at Ace. I push Kane and stand up. Ace shifts and growls back. I move out of their way and turn when a branch snaps. Three very large, and very angry wolves step out behind Ace growling. I hear another branch and out comes Jason, Kyle, Liam, and Luke. They stand behind Kane but Kyle, Liam, and Luke turn their heads to me. Fear glimmers in their eyes and they look forward. One of the adult wolves start to speak to all of us, Who are all of you? I'm Kane Sinclair, Alpha Male of the RedHill Pack. This is my Beta Jason Blair, my Enforcerd Kyle and Liam Matthews, and my Gamma Lucas Andrews. I came for my sister Alexa Sinclair, the Alpha Female. Kane explains, and Ace and his pack mates turn to me. Alexa? He asks, slowly making his way towards me. Before he even reaches me, he is stopped by Jason and Kyle, who growl. The wolf once again speaks, I am Rylan Volkov, Beta of the AshPeak Pack. This is Gamma Malachi DeLune, our Delta Aaron Rylie. This is Ace Farkas, our current Alpha. Kane dips his head respectfully. Now that I've found Alexa, may we leave? Ace looks at me then Kane, I don't know. She doesn't look all that pleased. I rise and the AshPeaks move back a step, and the RedHills move half a step. I stand beside my brother, I'll go home with my pack. As is right. I say in a formal tone, not noticing Ace's saddened look. The AshPeaks nod, As Beta, I'll walk you to our border. From there, find your way back. Kane dips his head but then Ace interrupts, Matter of fact, I'll take them Rylan. Go to the pack and tell them I'll return shortly. Rylan gives him a look but dips his head. He gives a short bark and races off with the other two. Ace gives me a look but turns away. He motions for us to follow and Kane barks, making the boys move in formation. I stand right beside Kane and we run after Ace back to the ridge.

Ace stops, Here's the border. Keep going straight and you'll be in your territory. Kane nods, Thank you, Ace. He turns to us, Alexa, lead them back. I'd like to speak with Ace. Kane keeps his eyes from meeting mine but I nod. I bark and run off, leaving the two Alphas to speak.

Kane's P.O.V
I send Alexa and the boys off to be able to ask Ace questions. I shift, and he slowly follows suit. I look at Ace then break into a grin. "Ace! Haven't seen you since school!" I pull him into a hug and he laughs. "Been too long Sinclair. Too long." He pauses, "Alexa's changed a lot." I raise an eyebrow, "What do you mean by that?" He looks at everything but my face, "Oh, nothing." I narrow my eyes, "You better keep away from Alexa. I know someone who's got his eye on her. I'm not going to ruin my relationship with him." He growls, and my eyes glow. "Leave." He growls, and I don't move. "Kane, I'm warning you. Leave. Now." He grits out. I raise an eyebrow and stay still. The calmness before I go aggressive takes over. My eyes return to normal, and I clock Ace in the jaw. He moves sideways, and I jump on him. I hit him repeatedly and soon blood is sprayed on my knuckles, and I wasn't sure if it was mine or Ace's. I rise and look down at Ace, who had blood staining his clothes and his face bleeding. "WHAT THE FUCK KANE!" He yells, getting up. I shrug, "That's not the worse I've done. That's just a warning. Stay away from Alexa. She's going to be mated to another, and they will be a bonded pair." I say before I shift and follow the pack's trail. I push myself to move faster and find them already at the pack's new territory. The boys were all seated around the girls, protecting them. I bark and Alexa jumps up. Kane! She yips excitedly. I nuzzle her and she freezes. Kane, why do you smell like blood? And Ace? She asks. I go still, No reason. She gives me a look and the pack looks at me fearfully. Looks like Ace wants Alexa. And I had to beat the sense that Alexa's to be mated to another. As soon as I say it, Alexa shifts back. "What do you mean I am to be mated to another? KANE EXPLAIN. NOW." She says, the same calm way I do when angered beyond return.
