Chapter 16: The Day Before

I wake and look around. Ghost is asleep at the foot of the bed like how I last saw him. I look up, and see the Enforcer I've fallen in love with. I rest my hand on his jaw, and his eyes open. He kisses my palm without breaking the gaze. I smile, but the pain of not being near Kyle for a week, starts again. I shut my eyes, "You okay, baby?" I barely open my eye, "Since when did you start calling me baby?" "Since I got back last night." I nod, "Alexa, do you still want to go through with the ceremony, or..." I shake my head, "I'm too weak to go into town." He nods, pecks my temple, "How are we gonna complete our bonding?" I blush, "You're going to have to mate me, Kyle. And mark me." He chuckles, "I can mark you right now, but only if you mark me." I nod and he pulls back the collar of his shirt. Don't worry Lex, I'll help you. Not this time, Echo. I want to do it myself. Okay, but I'll help when needed. Okay. I scoot closer to Kyle, and I nuzzle my head into the crook of his neck. I press a kiss to his neck and I nip the area. He shivers, and I lick the area tentatively. I touch the tips of my sharpened fangs and then place my mouth over the area. I close my eyes and bite down. His blood touches my tongue, and the taste it had was not the metallic taste I had expected. It had a spicy sweet taste to it. I pull my mouth back and run my tongue over the already healing mark. "Did it hurt?" I ask shyly. He rests his head on mine, "Not at all. Felt good actually." I bare my throat to him and he slides my shirt a little more. "Won't Kane come looking?" "No, he told everyone to stay away from us. Said that you would need me." I look at Ghost, "And my guard dog came with?" I ask, and Ghost turns to look at me. I pat the area next to my legs and he jumps up. He fits perfectly between Kyle and I. He lays his head on his paws and starts falling asleep again. Kyle nuzzles my neck and I feel the sensation down to my toes. My toes curl and he kisses the area, like I did. He nips it a couple of times, and I lower my lashes. He licks it and my eyes flutter shut. His deep chuckle vibrates and I bite his earlobe. I pull on his piercing slightly and he bites down. I gasp, letting go. He pulls back right away, "Are you okay?" I nod, "I'm okay. Just got me off guard." He leans back and licks away the blood with the tip of his tongue and kisses the new mark. I kiss his, and pulls my face gently towards his. I lean my head on his and our noses brush. He kisses me and I bite his lower lip. You like biting now? Maybe. What if I do? I don't get to respond because his bites my lower lip and his eyes flash with challenge. He raises his eyebrow and smirks. I don't move. Echo, got a way for him to let go? Always have a way to get attention. Good. She tells me the plan and I start on it. Kyle, let go. Nope. Babe, please. Since when am I Babe? Since you marked me. You marked me too. So Babe, please let go. Not gonna happen. Kyle. I let out a whine with my words. I'm not budging, love. When did I become Love, Kyle? Since I have your lip between my teeth. And I'm thinking of letting my fangs sharpen. You wouldn't dare. Oh, but I would. Kyle. Don't. Please. I'll do whatever you want. Whatever I want? Whatever you want. Fine then. He lets go and I roll away. I let myself roll off the bed. I hit the wood floor with a thud and he jumps up. "Lex." He says and Ghost gets up. I slide under the bed, having used my shoe to make the thud. I see his foot and he looks for me. "Lex." He says, his voice growing desperate. Don't Lex. Don't move. I'm trying not to Echo. Ghost sees me but I hold a finger to my lips. He walks past as if he didn't. Kyle sits on the floor, but with his back to me. I crawl forward silently and I see why he sat with his back to me. He took his shirt off thinking I'll break, which I am close to doing. Alexa, don't you dare. Stick to the plan. I'm really trying Echo, but have you seen him? She doesn't reply and I freeze when Kyle shifts around. I stay perfectly still and hide behind the pairs of shoes put under, and I smell Kaye on them. Only she would. I think to myself. Babe, come on out. Nope. Alexa, if I find you... What? You'll spank me? You just gave me an idea. I mentally face palm myself. So come out now, and no punishment. Make me look for you, it won't be pretty. I'm not coming out, Kyle. Fine. 4 minute head start. Thanks. He moves and I move towards the side. He actually turns his back to me and starts counting. I open the door and run down the hall, with Ghost at my heels. I go into a room and then look out the window. I open it and crawl out. I hide on the roof and plaster myself against the wall between that window and the next. Better pray, I don't find you, Alexa. I'm not scared, Kyle. Sure your not. That's why I can smell your fear right? That's not mine. That's Ghost's. Funny thing is, Ghost is sitting in front of a room. Should I check? Go ahead. I hear a door open, and I let out the breath I was holding. It was across the hall. I look at the drop. One story. I start to move towards the edge when I see Kyle going out. My eyes practically come out my head and I quietly go back into the room. "I'm going to find you, Alexa! I always do!" Kyle yells. I follow Kane's trail to a room. I open the door, and my brother is sharpening a throwing knife. I hold a finger to my lips. He nods. Kyle's trying to find me I mouth. I'll hide you. He mouths back. He shuts the door next to him and covers my trail into his room. Why is your scent mixed with Kyle's? He mouth, crossing his arms across his chest. I move my hair and show him the mark. His eyes go blue then go back to normal. His eyes flick to the door and he pushes me into his closet. He steps over my trail, hiding my scent. Thank you. I mouth. He nods and leaves the door open a crack. I hide under the mountain of clean shirts on the floor. I throw his old letterman jacket over me, and keep my eye to where I can see. "Ghost, find Mom." Kyle says, and I hear Ghost bark. I shake my head, knowing Ghost won't listen to anyone other than me. Ghost passes the room but Kyle doesn't. He opens the door, "Sorry to disturb you Alpha, but have you seen your sister?" Kane rises, "You lost my sister?" Kyle shakes his head, "Playing a game. Just asking if you've seen her. And by your scent, seems as if she came through here." "Kyle, I haven't changed this shirt since three days ago. I carried Alexa through the house. Of course I smell like her." Kyle looks around then right at the closet door. "I'm going to check in here really quick." Kane nods, but shoots me a glance over Kyle's shoulder. Before Kyle even comes towards the door, I pull a shirt on and cover my head with his beanie. I pull my legs to me, and leave the rest of the clothes. I sit against the corner of the closet, and make myself seem more realistic. I hear the door open, and Kyle moves clothes. "Come out Alexa. You've got nowhere to go." Kyle, I'm outside. I'm going. And when I catch you... If you can. He growls, and he runs out. Kane shuts the door and turns the lock. I emerge after I hear Kyle leave. Can you help me back to my room? I mouth. He nods. He lifts me up, and opens the door. He checks for Kyle and runs to my room. He opens that door and let's me in. He follows, I'm going to stay in here. Go hide. He mouths. I nod and go inside the bathroom. I look at my mark, and I feel an ache low in my belly. I've got you now. How? I can smell you. Your scent is screaming sex. Great. Kane appears in the doorway. Why do you smell like sex now? He mouths, and anger shows in his eyes. I shrug and jump into the closet. I hide in Kyle's clothes and mine. I silently curse myself, Alexa, calm down. Echo I can't. Kyle said my scent screamed sex! What if everyone can smell it? If they did, they know you really like Kyle. Echo! It's true. I don't get to respond because I hear Ghost's tags clanking. I hear Kyle again, "Ghost, find your mom." I stiffen. He opens the door and I hear him stop, "So Kyle. Why are you really after Alexa?" "Does it matter?" Kane scoffs, "It does if it involves Alexa." I take a deep breath and walk out. I wave, "Hi." Kane turns, smiling. He hugs me, "you're too damn lucky, brat." He says in my ear then laughs. Kyle grits his teeth then smiles when Kane turns. I lay my head on Kyle's chest, and he wraps his arm around me. You're so lucky Kane's here. Am I? Don't do that. Do what? That. That cluelessness. Kyle, don't do it. I have to go with the girls into town anyways. Why? You're going too, but with the guys. Again, why? For our ceremony tomorrow. Already? Yeah. Kane said since I'm a lot better, we shouldn't postpone it any longer. I guess he's right. Okay, so I need to get ready. "Kane, you should go get ready." He nods, "Okay, see you in half an hour tops." I roll my eyes, "Yeah, yeah." He shakes his head and closes the door. Once we hear Kane gone, Kyle has me against the door. He nuzzles his face on my neck and I try to push him off. "No, no, no, no, stop Kyle. Kane's only a couple doors down." "He won't mind." I bite his ear and he jumps back, and I open the door. "Go, so I can get ready." He raises an eyebrow but doesn't move, "Kyle, go. I have to get ready." He huffs but goes. Ghost stays at my side, "C'mon Ghost." Kyle says patting his thigh, trying to get Ghost to follow. "He won't go unless I say." I tell Kyle. He growls, and I snicker. "Ghost, go with Dad." Ghost obediently goes to Kyle. I close the door before Kyle tries to get back in and lock it. I go into the closet and look for something to where. I grab my red Alabama state pullover and a pair of grey jeans paired with my black combat boots and grey slouch beanie. I take a quick shower and blow dry my long hair. I look at the strands of brown in my black hair. I straighten all of it, then put on my bra and panties. I pull on my jeans then slip on my pullover. I secure my beanie with bobby pins and I pull on my black ankle socks. I lace up my boots and I head downstairs. Before I even reach the bottom step, someone pulls me back. I smell Kyle and I laugh. He rests his chin on my shoulder and presses a kiss to my ear. I turn and wrap my arms around his neck. I lean forward and notice he hasn't changed his earrings. "When are you gonna change them?" I ask, pulling gently on his earring. "Never. I like these. Don't you?" "But don't you want variety?" He shakes his head and I sigh, "Well, I think Kane was supposed to take me to get my piercings done." Kyle straightens up, "What piercings?" "I was going to get my belly button pierced and maybe a nose ring." He shakes his head, "Nope. Not happening." I growl, "What are you? My dad?" He growls back, "No. I'm your mate, Alexa." I turn my back on him and he leans forward, "Don't make me spank you. In front of everyone." I turn, "You wouldn't." He smirks, "But I would." I huff and I hug him, I can't stay mad at you. I know. I can't either. Good. Are they almost done? I think so. "Kane!" Kyle yells. "In the living room." I follow Kyle and we take a left and go straight down. We go another left and we're in the living room. Kaye gets up and holds me at arms length away, "Are you okay?" I nod and she hugs me. Briar and Elle get up and hug us. Kyle moves but I keep our index fingers intertwined. The girls move back and dip their heads to Kyle. He nods and envelops me into a hug. Kane rises and looks at everyone, "We can go if you're ready." He says, giving me a pointed look. I nod, and I turn to Kyle. Kane starts walking out and the pack follows right after. Kyle and I follow after, and I bounce on my feet. Ghost looks at us sadly and I grab his leash. He runs to me and sits again for me to connect his leash. He walks at my side and looks at Kyle. Kane looks at Ghost, "You're bringing it?" I nod, "It's not an it anymore. It's a he now." He rolls his eyes but still let's me bring him along. I see three brand new all black Land Rovers. "Uh Kane?" I say pointing to the cars. "Our inheritance. What we had was from Mom's side of the family. And Dad's family is very rich." I smile and walk up to a car. "That's Alexa's car." Kane says. I look at him and he throws me the keys. I hand them to Kyle and I sit in the passenger side. Ghost once again puts his paws on the door and looks out the window. Kyle puts the key in the ignition and starts up the car. Kane, Dec, Jason, and Luke get into the second one. Briar, Kaye, Elle, Liam, and Bren get into the third car. I freeze when I see everyone get into the other cars. Kane leads everyone one out onto the road, and towards town. Kyle doesn't once touch me or look at me, or even talk to me during the entire drive, and it drives me crazy. Echo starts to worry that he wasn't pleased with us. I play with Ghost, and he bites at my fingers. Kyle looks at Ghost and messes with his ears. Kane drives through the town until he pulls into the 93 highway. My phone rings and I answer it, "Alexa, we have to go into Hamilton. Tell Kyle to keep following me." I hang up and turn to Kyle, "Kane says to keep following him." He nods and I barely hold back my growl of annoyance. I bite down on my lip and I let my teeth sharpen. I taste the blood and my fangs retract. I keep my teeth on the wound, making it worse. Kyle uses a finger to make me let go. I bite his finger and he raises an eyebrow. "If you bite down and your fangs are sharp, I will pull over saying Ghost had to pee and I'll spank you. The back has tinted windows." He threatens. You love me too much to do it. I do love you. But I'll still do it, so let go. Fine, Alpha. I snap. I'm not an Alpha. I know that, Enforcer. Finally get it right, Alpha. I turn away from him, Alexa, stop fighting with him. He's the one threatening to spank me! He doesn't mean it. Unless you keep pushing his buttons, then maybe it will happen. Echo, I'm scared. Of what? To be mated. I'm scared, that like some pairs, that the male turns abusive. Lex, honey. That's only when they aren't compatible. Like she's a submissive and he's a dominant wolf. You match Kyle perfectly. I do? Yes. You both are very dominant wolves. Yeah, that's what scares me. Stop being scared. He's our mate. Our? Well, his wolf is my mate. And he is your mate. Okay then. But you don't know his wolf. Oh, I do. How? Well um, when you were really close to dying, I sort of took over and made you shift. After Kane left after  Kyle, I went after. How did you like his wolf? Oh, he was magnificent. I snicker and she growls at me. Kyle slides an eye over to me, and his eyes grow soft. "I won't hurt you. I can't do it." He says. I look up at him, "Is that good?" I ask breathless. Ghost curls up on my lap and looks at me. He licks my chin and I giggle. Kyle laughs and ruffles his ears, making Ghost stare at him. Kane turns off and then calls me again, "Hey Lex, tell Kyle that the drive is going to be 4 hours." He hangs up and I look forward. "Kane says the drive is 4 hours." "Got it." Kyle says, and throws me a one sided grin. I smile back and he reaches across the console, and grabs my hand. I smile and he kisses our joined hands. I look in front of us and see Kaye and Briar doing heart shapes with their hands. When Kyle looks at them, they stop and turn around. He chuckles and I squeeze my thighs closer. Why is his chuckle so sexy? He growls, and looks at me. Remember what I said back at the house? N-no. I can smell your lust. Your scent screams sex whenever I'm near you. T-that's n-not true. But your stuttering says otherwise. I have to stay pure. I know. I know. I release the breath I was holding and he shakes his head. All you do is tease, my love. Why, what ever do you mean? I ask, trying my best to sound like a southern belle. You scream sex. Then say you have to stay pure. You take our kissing to a higher level then stop. Why is that? Because I remember I shouldn't. I have to wait until we are seen to the pack as a bonded pair. "That's not fair to me or my wolf. He can't wait. His natural instinct is to mark you and mate you, making you his. But you want to have a ceremony, for what?" "Kyle, I was raised being told that to be a true pair, the pack has to acknowledge that. And doing the ceremony tells your pack you're already spoken for and belong to them." He shakes his head, and narrows his eyes. "You already belong to me if you bear my mark. And I belong to you, as I bear your mark. We already are halfway done. Just need to mate." I look at him, "It's not 'just need to mate'. It means a lot to girls, especially those who've never been with anyone." He turns to me, "You've never been with anyone? You're still a virgin." I nod, the blush creeping up my neck. He smiles gently, "I won't hurt you." I shake my head, "It's just that... I've heard that it's painful." I reply, looking away. He turns my face to his, "Then the guy must have not been gentle." I hold Ghost, "He was an Enforcer." Kyle moves back and turns away, his hands turning white from how tight he's holding the steering wheel. I place my hand on his arm and I feel the muscle flex. I put Ghost in the back and he curls up. Soon enough, he is snoring. "Kyle..." I say looking at his face, trying to read his emotions but he has his wall up. "What Alexa?" "You only ever call me Alexa when your mad at me." "I'm not mad at you. I can't ever be mad at you." "Then what's wrong?" "It's what you told me. That Enforcer didn't take care of his mate if it hurt her. And I'm scared that will happen to us." He confesses, and looks at me. That's when I notice it, "We've stopped." "Yeah. Kane mind linked me, said that there was a construction accident." I nod, move to the back, "Where you going?" I don't respond, and I hear him coming too. I squeal and move. He sits towards the door, so he can still see towards the front. He pulls me onto him and I gasp. He rests his hand on my ass and he pulls me forward. I grip onto his shoulders. "Kyle, no." I giggle and he leans closer. He licks a trail from the base of my throat to my ear. I shut my eyes, and bite my lip. Ghost jumps into the front, and I see him lay down. Kyle starts to lift my hoodie off, and I stop his hands. "I don't have a shirt on under." I say, and I feel the heat climbing up my neck. He nods and I slip my hands under his shirt, running them over his abs. His eyes glow and I move hands to move onto his back. He squeezes his eyes shut and a groan escapes his lips. I lay my head in the crook of his neck, but keep my hands on his back. He squeezes my ass and I scoot forward. He chuckles and the sound vibrates from his chest. I kiss his neck, and he groans again. "Alexa," he says, biting my earlobe. I tug slightly on his earring and he growls. I place my lips over his ear, "Only one more day. Then I'm all yours." I whisper. Hunger shines in his eyes and he grabs my face. He kisses me roughly and my moan is silenced by his tongue. He pulls back and I have my eyes shut, left breathless. "Can't wait for tomorrow." He says, wrapping his arms around me. I run my hands down his abs and then move them again to his back. I wrap my legs around his waist, and lay my head against his shoulder. I unwrap myself from him and gently wake Ghost. He looks up at me, and stretches. I pick him up and place him in the back on top of the blanket I grabbed from the trunk. He circles once then lays down. I sit in the seat and Kyle comes back. Kaye's eyes are huge and I look at Kyle. He had that smirk and was looking at me. The cars start again and Kyle turns it back on. He follows close and once again we go on the drive.

I feel someone shaking my shoulder. I groan and move my shoulder away. "Alexa, get your ass up." I hear Kyle say. I look at him, raising my eyebrow and I know I looked pissed. "Kane says we're here." I nod and look at Ghost, who was already looking at me. I look out the window, spotting Kane parking a little way up. I point and Kyle parks next to Liam. He jumps out and comes to open the door for me. I go around to get Ghost and he wraps his arms around my waist. I laugh and lean back against him, "Dude, gross." Liam says. "Hey! Hands off my sister." Kane snaps. I glare at Kane but move from Kyle. I get Ghost and he happily jumps out. He goes to Elle and she scoops him up. He licks at her face and she laughs, pushing his face away gently. I look at Kyle and he wraps his arm around me. Kane glares but doesn't say a word. "Guys, we're going to the tux shop. Girls, go look at dresses. Then meet back here, got it?" We all nod, and separate. Kyle pulls me against him, and I wrap my arms around his neck. He leans down and leaves a feather soft kiss on my lips, and pulls away. I go to Kaye and Briar, and go after Elle. Ghost is sitting and she tries to pull him. "I've got it." I say, taking the leash. Ghost gets up and we walk to the dress store. The lady looks at Ghost but smiles, "How may I help you ladies?" "Well, I'm having a small private wedding, and we need some dresses." I answer plainly, but smile kindly. She nods, "Follow me." Ghost stays at my side, and the girls look at all the dresses. "Wait here while I get the fitter." She says, leaving us in a room. I sit down, and Ghost sits between Kaye and I. "So Lex, how's your love life?" Briar asks, looking at me. I blush, "It's fine." "By your blush, it seems a lot more than fine." Elle comments. Kaye laughs, "Have you gone far with Kyle yet?" I look at Briar in shock, "You know I have to remain pure for tomorrow." She shakes her head, "You with your purity." I give her a look but turn to Ghost. He sits like a statue, the only thing that moves is the occasional twitch of an ear is the only sign he's alive. The lady returns with another woman who has a measuring tape around her neck. I stand up, handing Kaye Ghost's leash. "Okay, lift your arms." I do so, and she measures me. After a few minutes, I'm finished with that and I sit back down. "I'll get some dresses with your measurements and then you'll get to try them on." She says with a smile. I smile back and nod. I pull out my phone, and look for Kyle's number.
A: Hey babe.
K: Hey, baby.
A: Have you chosen your "best man" yet?
K: I was thinking all of the guys can be my best men, since they are. How bout you? You chosen your "maid of honor" yet?
A: I wasn't thinking of one. Our pack is small.
K: Kane didn't tell you? He invited the AshPeaks.
A: Without telling me?
K: Said it was your surprise. Ace volunteered some of his pack that are good architects to build the arch and all that.
A: Really? That was nice of him.
K: Yeah. Now, what color dress you getting?
A: Now, why would I tell you?
K: Well, I wanted to match my tie or something with your dress color.
A: Not happening. Just go with what matches with you, and we'll go from there.
K: Fine. But I can't wait to see you in a white dress walking to me. And then you say 'I do'.
A: Kyle... Don't make me cry.
I barely send the text when the woman returns. She has various dresses in her arms and puts them all on a hook. "So ready to try on your dream dress?" She asks. I get up and the girls outside. The lady goes too, "Call me if you need any help." I nod and when the door closes, I start undressing. I grab the first dress and start pulling it on. I tie my hair up in a ponytail and see it needs to be laced up. I open the door, "Can I get some help tying it up?" I ask, and she comes. I turn around, and she starts to lace me up. I stand straight up when she tugs the string. "Okay, done." I step to the small round platform in front of my girls. They look at each other then back at me. Kaye gets up and takes my hair out of the ponytail and fixes it. She sits back down next to Briar and they look at me, "Any thoughts?" I ask them. "It looks nice, but not on your hips." Elle says and they nod, agreeing. I step down and the woman unlaces me. I close the door, and put it back on the hook. I look at the next one and see they are the same style. I shake my head and put it with the other. I grab the strapless one and I open the door again. She comes and again laces me up. I step to the platform and the girls nod, grinning. "Barely the second, and already they like this one." The woman laughs. I laugh along, "This is the one." I say, smiling. The woman smiles back, "It fits you well." Kaye sniffles, and wipes at her eyes. I go to her, "Kaye, are you crying?" She nods, "Why, Kaye?" I ask, hugging her but don't step on the dress. "It's just that tomorrow we're giving you to Kyle. And I'm happy for you." I smile, and hold her. She sniffs, then playfully pushes me away, "Now go get dressed so we can pay." I laugh, and the lady smiles slightly. She unlaces me again, and I put it on its hanger. I get dressed again and step out, holding the dress in my arms. The lady takes it, "Follow me." She takes us back to the front, "So do you want to take it today, or come back?" "Today. The wedding's tomorrow." She nods, smiling. "The total is $2,200." She says, and I swipe the card. She smiles, "Congratulations and have a great day tomorrow." I smile, "Thank you. Have a good evening." I say. Ghost follows at my heels, and Kaye looks at him. I look for Elle, "Where's Elle?" I ask. "Said she went to get our present." Briar says. I nod, "Well she better be quick." Briar and Kaye nod, and I go back to the car. I stop, "I didn't get your dresses." I say, turning back. Briar laughs, "We got ours when you were trying on the dress." I smack my forehead, feeling stupid. I keep walking to the car, and open the back door. I hang the dress on the hook and shut the door. I turn around and Kyle grabs me. "How did you beat us?" He whispers. "It was a second dress." I whisper back. He nods, and leans his forehead on mine. I then pull back. "Kyle, your hair." I say, using my phone to see it. He had changed his hair from brown to blonde. "You like?" He asks, shoving his hand in his front pocket while holding his tux over his shoulder with the other. I run my hand through his hair, "Did you get this done when you were supposed to get a tux?" He chuckles, "The guy said that my tux was easy. And I had free time." "Kyle, we took 4 hours of looking at different dresses then trying them on. You took a few minutes for a tux and got your hair done." I hug him, "I still love your hair." I mumble. "Where are the rest of the guys?" I ask, not seeing one of them. "Still getting fitted and whatnot. I got treated first since I'm the lucky guy." He says, leaning towards me. Kaye clears her throat, amusement shining in her eyes. I blush and hide my face in Kyle's chest. He laughs and wraps his arms around me. "Wait, I bought you something." Kyle says. He pulls out a necklace from his back pocket. I cover my mouth, and he turns me around. He claps it together and I hold it in my hand. I peck his lips, "Thank you. I love you so much." I say, and he closes his eyes. I turn on my phone and use the camera to look at it. I look at the locket and decide to finally give Kyle the gift I had for him. "I've got you something too. A while ago." I say, with a small laugh. He smiles, and I hand him the black ring with a Celtic dragon inlayed. He kisses me, "Thanks babe." He says, and puts it on his ring finger and hand. I lay my head on his chest, "I'm nervous about tomorrow." "I am too, but I have you to look forward to." Right then, the guys start to come towards us. I move from Kyle, but keep our hands intertwined. Kane just looks away, "Ready to go?" I nod, then remember what shoes I'm wearing. "Girls, you don't need anything?" I ask. They shake their heads, "Looks like we're good." I answer Kane. He nods, "Let's head back home then." We all go to our cars then Elle looks for Kane, "Alpha, I need to go get something. Kyle, Alexa, you know the way back right?" Kyle nods. Kane and Elle look at each other and get the faraway look when they mind link. "Kyle, Alexa, you two can head on. Elle needs to get something." "But..." I try to say but Kyle is pushing me to the car. I huff and Ghost sits down. "Put him in the back." I tell Kyle. He nods and scoops him up. Ghost goes to the blanket and lays down. Kyle waves and gets in. He starts the car, and we pull out. He turns onto the road, and we start the 4 hour drive back home.
