Ryder's P.O.V
"Clay, you're going to be fine out here?" I ask for the millionth time. "Ryder, I'll be fine. Duke and Duchess will be fine. I know just how much to feed them and when to take them to the bathroom outside. I know when to put them to sleep." Clay says, bored. "Better know." I grumble under my breath and he gets me in a headlock. "You haven't been thinking right for the past two days. So what you get to see Alexa?" Clay says, letting me go. "I haven't seen her in months. What if she hates me or something." I say, and he gives me a look. "Why would she hate you? You're her Prince, for crying out loud." Clay says, throwing his hands up. I shake my head at him, "Whatever. My dad's calling me home. Said I need to get dressed or some sh*t like that." I say, running my hand through my hair. I hear tags clicking and I see Duke and Duchess playing at our feet. "I'll miss you two." I say, rubbing their heads. Duchess nips my hand and Duke bites my jean leg. "Duke." I say warningly and he lets go. "Ryder, they'll be fine with me. I won't let them go, eat them, give them away, or hurt them at all during your leave." He says, bowing mockingly. "You are so luckily Clay." I say, kicking his hand. "Leave then." Clay says, pushing me out the door. I look at him over my shoulder and he shuts the door in my face. I look at the door, my arms crossed. "Open it, Clay." I growl. "Nope. Don't deserve to be in here." He says through the window. "I'll break down this door." I growl. "You wouldn't, Ryder. You're too good." He says and I feel my wolf rising. "Open the door." I say, my voice feral. He inches open the door and I stalk forward. I walk in and pet Duchess. She rubs her head on my leg and Duke bites her tail. They take off chasing each other and look for Clay. I find his scent and I follow it to his room. "Imma get you, cuz." I call. He doesn't reply and I step into the room. The door slams shut and locks. I whirl around and come face to face with Jake. "Hey baby brother. What are you doing attacking Clay?" He asks, and I growl. "Chill out brother. No need for aggression." He says, holding his hands up in peace. "Where. Is. He?" I bite out. "In the other room with Duke and Duchess." Jake says, and grabs my chin roughly in his hand. His wolf comes out and my wolf reacts. His eyes glow and I growl. "Submit." He snaps, and I feel my wolf slowly starting to. "No." I growl and he bares sharp fangs at me.

I hop into my truck and start the drive down to the pack house. I park next to Jake's Land Rover and step out. I open the door and hear my father, "Jake! Ryder!" He yells and I quickly head to his office. I knock and open the door. He points to the right chair and I sit. Jake comes and sits in the left one. "Hey, baby brother." He says, ruffling my hair. "Jake, you're only a year older than me." I snap. He chuckles, "Sure..." He says and my dad looks up. "Can you both quit it?" He growls at us, and I nod. "I have to tell you both something about our trip to the RedHill pack." He starts. "There will be a set of rules to follow and you will not bypass them." "First one is do not argue with anyone. It isn't our home. Second, no clashing heads with their Enforcers or any high ranking wolves. Third, no trying to flirt with any of the girls. It is wrong. And lastly, don't have too much fun." He ends with a wicked grin. Jake shares the same smile with him, but my eyes stay glued to the wall behind my father. "But I have one condition for both of you..." He starts, his eyes dark. Jake leans forward eagerly but I sit back.
This won't end well. I tell my wolf, Fury.
No, but you have to listen to Dad. He'll get pissed at you again.
Yeah, but I don't want to do what he says.
Neither do I. But pack bond, Ryder.
I hate it, but I guess you're right.
I'm always right. Even when it doesn't seem like it.
Yeah, yeah.
I am always right. And you know it.
Lies, Fury. The lies you speak.
I have never lied to you. You've been lying but to yourself, Ryder.
In what way?
Trying to tell yourself you don't love Alexa Sinclair.
I don't. I never will.
Keep telling yourself that.
F*cker.
Assh*ole.
F*ck you.
F*ck you.
"Ryder!" Jake yells, snapping his fingers in my face. "What Jake!" I yell back. "Dad's been saying your name for the last f*cking thirty minutes retard." He snaps and I growl. "Would you idiots quit it!" Dad barks and Jake glares at me. I return the glare, and Dad growls. "Stop it!" I sit away from the idiot and look at Dad. "I've been trying to tell you the plan I have for the RedHills." He starts, and Jake and I sit straighter. "What is it?" Jake asks eagerly and I look at him with a confused look. I look back at Dad and he has a wicked look in his eyes, and I know it won't be a good thing. "You both know Alexa Sinclair, correct?" He asks, and I nod slowly while Jake nods with enthusiasm. Fury perks up when Dad says her name and a sense of dread starts low in my stomach.
"One of you has to bed Alexa Sinclair." Dad says, and Jake's eyes gleam.
