Chapter 4: The Meeting

After walking about ten minutes we come to a clearing with a waterfall pounding into a small lake. "Wow, it's so beautiful and peaceful." I say, looking around. I hear Kane chuckle. I turn around and smile. He smiles back and stands next to me, "You need to say close to me. They might try something." He growls after saying that. I nod and lay my head on his shoulder. Soon, two wolves trot into the clearing. They shift back and I see the two star baseball players, Liam and Kyle. "Hey Alexa." They say then dip their heads to Kane, "Alpha." He nods and they sit down on the one of many logs. Another three come. When they shift I almost cry. My Best Friends Elle, Briar, and Kaye. I hug them and they dip their heads to Kane, "Alpha." they say and sit down across from Liam and Kyle. Then two very familiar wolves walk in together. They shift and standing in front of us is Declan and Luke. "Alpha." they say, dipping their heads. And sit down next to Kyle and Liam. A wolf walks in alone. It shifts and a sweet girl named Angel dips her head, "Alpha." She sits on a log away from everyone. "He's still not here yet." Kane growls. I motion to the log left and he pulls me there. He sits and pulls me tightly against his side. "Since my Beta is late, we will start." Kane says and they all nod. The navy blue smoke envelops them all and different wolves of color and size look at me. Except Dec and Luke. Kyle stayed staring at me while everyone else went with someone. Kane snarls, noticing and tackles Kyle down and snaps at his face. Kyle struggles and tries to bite Kane. Soon Kyle gives up and Kane nips his cheek. The others watched intently but Dec had come to me. He sat down against my leg, laying his head in my lap. I gently pet his head and he nuzzles into my hand. Kane growls at Dec and he moves away from me. Luke pushes Dec down and they start play fighting until Dec yelps. Luke had bit down too hard on his scruff. As I was laughing, a black wolf with ice blue eyes walks in. Kane shifts back, "Finally Jason decides to show up." The wolf grunts and sits down at the edge and watches the pack. Kane shifts back and sits beside me, watching the guys with a growl rumbling deep in his throat. Jason doesn't look at me, but pays very close attention to Kyle and Liam. Kyle and Liam stay with each other and move away to the very edge of the clearing, near the lake. They kept glancing my way but Kane's glare kept them away. Jason comes over to Kane and stays beside him. I watch the girls playing, chasing each other and hiding. I start laughing when Elle and Kaye tackle down Briar. She yelps in shock and rolls over. She nips at Elle's ear and knocks her over. Elle growls and Kaye chases Briar around the clearing. When they bump into Kyle and Liam, they both snarl and bite them. Kane growls and rushes over to them. With Jason right behind. They both push them down and growl at Kyle and Liam. Liam immediately submits but Kyle gets up. His tail lifts high, and his ears perk forward. He snarls in Jason's face. Jason snarls back and shoves Kyle back with his left shoulder. Kyle barely moves and pushes him back with his shoulder. Jason does move back and Kyle launches himself at Jason. I watch and the rest of the pack moves out of the way and form a circle around Kyle and Jason. Dec and Luke came near me, shielding me from the two. Angel had moved away and laid at the shore of the lake. I got up and walked over to her. I sit down on a rock next to her, and gently pet her from her head down her back. She moves her back against my hand, and I smile. "Angel, you are so kind and sweet. You are quiet, but loud in your own way. I will promise you that I when I become Alpha, I will change things." I say, hearing her whine in approval.
