Chapter 6: The Silver White

The name Ryder stayed in my head since last night. Prince of the Pack made me wonder, how is he the Prince? I know that Kane and I are born of supposed legendary werewolves, but why is Ryder the Prince? I guess I have all day of school to find out. I look out my window and see a wolf sitting and staring up at me. I quickly shower and choose to wear my sky blue flower blouse with a pair of white shorts and my white high top Converse. I straighten my hair then grab my white and grey Jansport backpack. "Kane! I'm going to school!" I yell as I walk out the door. The wolf is waiting at my doorstep but I start walking so I can get some coffee. With the wolf at my heels. It starts moving at my pace, making sure its fur is brushing my leg. I reach down and run my hand along the wolf's back. And to my surprise, it turns and snaps at my hand. It growls and bounds off into the woodlands.
I start speed walking to not be late. I grab my morning coffee and look at my phone. I have 15 minutes till school even began. I walk over to Angel, who was sitting by herself on a bench. "Hey Angel." I say as I sit down beside here. "Hi Alexa." she replies, looking down at her feet. "Be careful. He's keeping an eye on you now," She says, taking a swift glance to the right. I start to turn and she slaps my hand, "Don't look over there. He's staring right at you." She says, with fear shining in her eyes. I nod and ignore the urge to look. "Angel, it feels as if a force is trying to make me look." I say. "He's trying to force you to look over at him." She says, looking down. When the bell finally goes off, we go to our classes. Angel goes to AP History, and I go to P.E. One of the classes I have with the Matthews twins, and Bren. I go to the locker room to get ready for class. I hurry and quickly pull on my tank top and shorts. I tie my black and silver Nikes, then tie my hair up and go outside. I start walking around until Coach comes out when I hear a conversation going on. "Why are we still going? It sucks." One voice says. "We have to go. He said we have to go. Until She comes of age, then we're good." The other replies. Who is He? And when She comes of age? Gotta ask Kane about this. I quickly leave when I hear the two moving. I walk away but I hear them right behind me. I act as if I don't realize they are behind me. The low hum of whispering comes from behind me. Then they stop and a grunt and groan comes. I turn and see Liam and Kyle Matthews laid on the floor with a tall guy with brown hair and grayish green blue eyes is staring down at them with a smirk plastered on his handsome face. "Now, what have I said about following the Alpha?" He asks with a hint of a growl in his voice. Kyle and Liam whine and lower their eyes. "We weren't. We were just going the same way." Liam whines in pain. "Yeah. She just happens to be going the same way we are." Kyle says, pain lacing his voice as well. Pain is flashing in both of their eyes and I speak up, "Stop. You're hurting them." The guy turns to me and the Matthews twins smile gratefully. The guy smiles wickedly, "Oh. I'll stop." The twins fall, screaming. But it goes unnoticed as this school is a werewolf school as I realized how everyone acts. I kneel and help them. Kane, I need your help I say in my mind. Why? What's wrong? He asks. The Matthews twins are in pain, like bad. Can't you feel it? I ask. Yeah. I can. I'm on my way he says. I carefully lift their heads and lay them on my lap. I stroke their hair, wishing I could help them. The guy snarls and tries to pull me away. I slap his hands away and he moves back. They whine in pain and I run my fingers through Liam's light brown hair and Kyle's dark hair, trying to soothe them. They stop whining and I hear a small harsh laugh. The guy is sitting on the concrete steps laughing. "What's so funny?" I ask angrily. "You actually care about them?" He asks, laughing in disbelief. "Yes. Yes I do, they're my pack." I respond with a hint of protectiveness in my voice. He smirks, "Oh yeah. Well I'm their Prince." I look up, "You're Prince Ryder?" he just nods and smirks. I look behind me and see Kane running towards us. He ignores Ryder and comes straight to me. "Alexa, tell me exactly what happened." Kane says, anger evident in his voice. "Well, I heard them speaking and then I went away, knowing it wasn't place to listen. So as I was leaving, they were walking the same direction I was. Then Prince Ryder had to do Alpha power on them and they fell from the pain. I laid their heads on my lap, and Prince here snarled at me. So now he's sitting, and laughing." I reply. Ryder chuckles and Kane grabs Liam. "Take Kyle to my truck. I'll bring Liam. Ryder help Alexa with Kyle. I'm going to take them home." We pick up Kyle, Ryder holding his feet and me holding his upper body. Kane has the door open for the back and I squeeze in after we put in Kyle. The twins groan in pain and Kane looks back. "Ryder, what exactly did you do to my pack mates?" He snarls. "Just a little Alpha punishment for following Alexa." he answers with a growl. I nod and Kane growls but keeps driving. We stop at this huge mansion, "Ryder get out." Kane says dangerously calm. Ryder looks at him, "What?" Ryder asks. "Get out." Again in the calm tone. Ryder's eyes glow in anger but he gets out. Kane continues on to the house. He opens the door and carries Liam into the house. He comes back and helps me carry Kyle in and lay him down in the guest bedroom. Kane brings in Liam and lays him beside his brother. "I'm going to call their dad. I'll be right back." I nod and sit on the chair in the corner to watch the boys. Kyle is sweating and moaning in pain while Liam is whining and curled up on his side. I wait for Kane. "Their dad's coming to check on them. He'll be here in ten." Kane tells me. He walks over to them and rests a hand on their heads, and mumbles something. They stop moaning and whining and fall silent.
"What did you do?"
"Put them in a calm state. Stop the pain."
"Oh. Let's hope their dad comes soon."
Just then the doorbell rings. "I've got it." I say and go open the door. "Where are my sons?" The tall brown haired silver eyed man standing in front of me asks. I move, "Follow me." We go to the guest room and I open the door. He goes to his sons and tilts their heads, "No injuries?"
"No, Sir. They didn't hit or break anything. Thanks to Alexa." Kane says.
"Thank you, Alexa Sinclair. You saved my boys." He smiles and shakes my hand.
"Kane, take Kyle to my truck. I'll take Liam." Mr. Matthews says.
"Yes, sir." Kane answers. Mr. Matthews carries Liam and I follow. I open the back doors and wait for them to come. Kane puts in Kyle then Mr. Matthews puts Liam in. "I'll be taking them home. I'll get Paul to check on them." We nod, "I'll go to visit them after school." I say and Mr. Matthews shakes our hands and leaves. The cloud of dust causes us to sneeze. I go inside and Kane runs in. "Hide. Ryder's coming with his dad, and I don't want you getting caught. They think you don't know about our family and being wolves. Go to your room and act as if you aren't here. Hide your scent." Kane tells me while pushing me to the stairs. I go straight into my room. I hide in my closet. Alexa, hide in my closet. They won't smell you. Kane mind links me. I hide in his closet under his old school jersey jacket. I hear the door open and a man's voice, "Kane, you better explain why my son, your Prince, entered my house fuming?" I hear the door close. "Well Mr. Chase, Prince Ryder used his power to injure two of my pack, The twin sons of Ricky Matthews." He says respectfully but it sounded forced. I hear Ryder chuckle and I groan lowly. "Aye Kane, the bathroom's upstairs right?" He asks. "Yes, my prince." Kane growls out. I hear Ryder coming upstairs. Instead of going to the bathroom, I hear him going into my room. He snoops around and I groan. He stops and I curse myself. "I can hear you." he whispers. I don't move and he opens the door, "Gotcha my dear." I turn my head and he strokes my cheek gently, and I nip his finger. "Feisty. I like that about you." I scoff and scoot back. He grabs my arm and I smack his hand. "Stop touching me." I say, feeling off. I fall sideways and curl up, in fetal position. I can feel power radiating through the house. I try not to scream but Ryder easily gets up and leaves. I hear Kane scream in pain and I try to speak to him. Kane, it hurts. It hurts so much. Why, does it hurt so much? I ask. Alexa, ignore it. Just ignore it, please. Please ignore it, it will keep hurting. He says as I hear another scream from Kane. I think of what he said and I repeat it, Ignore it. Alexa, ignore it. I repeat it over and over, and slowly the pain goes away. I hear Kane scream again. Kane, please. Ignore the pain. Please, for me. I say to my older brother. I'm trying, but Alpha Chase is pushing more on me. He says as another scream echoes through the house. I cringe and I feel the pain again, but I fight it. I push and use my own power to fight it. "Who, is fighting my power?" I hear a man roar. I keep fighting him, then I hear a deep growl echo and I stop fighting. I hear them walking up the stairs. "Dad, calm down. This isn't our home." Ryder tries to reason. I hear Kane, "Alpha Chase, please calm down. I have my younger sister asleep upstairs." I quickly and silently lay in Kane's bed as if I'm asleep. I hear the door be pushed open and a low growl. A wet nose pushes my face and then goes away. I hear the man again, "Kane, this is a warning. I want you to gather your pack and get out of my territory. If you or any are seen again I will not hesitate to kill any of your pack. Tomorrow, bring them to your normal pack gathering place. I will bring my pack and we will tell them the rules." He snarls as they leave. I hear the front door slam shut and Kane growls. "Alexa, I can't handle this. I need you to try and call on your wolf now. So tomorrow we are prepared."
"Kane, I can't. What if something goes wrong." I say, scared. "I can force it, and bring her to the surface. So it's easier for you." I nod and he has a faraway look. "I've called the pack. I'm going to draw on their energy, to call your wolf." I look down and soon the door opens and I hear the pack coming up the stairs. I see the Matthews twins walking slower but look fine. "I called all of you because we have to speed up Alexa's wolf calling. Tomorrow we might have trouble, and we need as many wolves as possible." Kane says and they all nod in unison. "Shift all of you." They all do and wolves sit, waiting. Kane places a hand over my heart. He mutters some Latin words and everyone howls. His eyes have the glow of his wolf. I feel my lungs constricting when I try to scream as a burning pain envelops my body. Everyone is whining and growling as Kane transfers the energy of the entire pack. I scream out but I feel the burning again. Kane is staring deep into my eyes and I feel myself responding to his power. I feel a stronger energy, that of an Alpha. And I pass out from the pain.

Declan's P.O.V
Seeing Alexa so still like that almost made me snap. I really hope she doesn't die from the pain. We all stayed in wolf form and waited until Alexa woke. Kane sat in the chair next to her, holding her hand. Alpha, she will make it we all heard Kyle say. Liam nodded and Kane just stared down at Alexa. Lucas and I go to sit on either side of our Alpha, supporting him. "What if she doesn't make it through the change, and I lose the only family I have left?" Kane asks us. I hear the girls whine at the thought. The twins growl and we do too, we cannot lose our Alpha Female. Not to the calling. I hear everyone say. I watch Alexa, wishing I could take the pain away. "Everyone can find a spot to sleep around the house, except Alexa's room." Kane says without looking up. Lucas and I curl up on the floor in the corner of the room. Kane stayed seated. We fall asleep hoping for Alexa.
