"What do you mean by that Alexa?" Briar asks, getting up. "He's not a fox cub. He's a wolf. Maybe our kind. Not really sure." "But it looks like a fox." Elle says, backing away. Kaye pets him, and looks into his eyes. "It's a wolf. A natural wolf. Not like us." I release the breath I was holding, but look at Scout. "Well, looks like we have a wolf, not a fox." I say. When the words leave my mouth, something changes in Scout. He jumps off of me and goes behind the log, away from us. I hear his small cry of pain, but Kaye holds me still. Instead of the little reddish cub with golden green eyes walking out, out comes an all white wolf pup with silver eyes. He sits down, and looks at all of us. "Scout." I say, but he doesn't move. "He needs a new name, Lex." Elle says. I think for a moment, "Ghost." I say. And he comes. I pet him, and he leans into my hand. I smile, and hold him close. I wait for the boys to return, and my worry starts to get worse. Kaye rubs my shoulder and smiles. I smile back then turn back to look at the direction they left. Ghost licks my chin, but I don't look at him. Echo starts to act up too, as we both look for our chosen mate. My heart races when I catch Kyle's scent, but I don't see him. Echo howls and I make sure not to make a sound. She howls longer, in hope that he'll hear her. I hear a branch snap, and I look at the direction it came from. Bren emerges and his eyes search for something. "Where's Kane?" I look at him in confusion, "None of you guys came back, just you." He grabs his hair, and Elle goes to him. She rests her head on his shoulder and he calms down. Bren turns to me, "What were you doing with Kyle so far?" He asks. I can feel the heat creeping up my neck and I look down. "They were making out." Briar says, and I shoot her a death glare. "That's normal, Lex. You two are going to be mates! If you run off though, Kane will think other things are happening." I blush even darker, and she chuckles. I hear another branch snap, then a groan. I get up slowly and walk to the sound. Kyle is laid on top of Kane. I help him lift Kyle, and he stretches out his legs. He gently takes Kyle from me, and helps him to the log. He sits him down, and the firelight makes his face visible. I cover my mouth when I see Kyle's face. The left side of his face is bruised and has small cuts, but his cheek is the worse. It's purple and has a large cut. "I'm fine." He says. I sit next to him, and Ghost follows. "Where's Scout?" Kane asks, looking at Ghost. "That is Scout. He changed. Ask the girls." He looks at them and they nod. Ghost lays in between Kyle and I and licks his hand. Kyle scratches him behind the ears, and I look at Kane. His eyes get a blue ring around them. "What were you two doing so far?" He asks, his arms crossed. "I was talking to her." Kane raises an eyebrow, "Yeah, that's why you had her scent all over you, right?" I look down and Kane lift my chin up, "Don't hide your eyes." I bite my lip, and look at Kyle. "Did you kiss her?" He growls at Kyle. Bren and the girls all stare. Kyle doesn't break his gaze, even when Dec, Luke, and Jason come back. Kyle tries to get up, but I hold his arm and shake my head. He sits back down, and I keep my hand wrapped around his arm. Kane and Kyle keep looking at each other, but I can tell Kane's going to lose it. "I'm your head Enforcer, Kane. Liam's your other Enforcer. We have more power than you." Kyle says, and Kane growls. "Fine, Kyle. But not because of what you are. But for my sister." He turns away and checks with Jason and the boys. "What did you do Kyle?" I ask, looking at his face. "It was Ace. He shifted back, and came at me. Said something about you being his, and well this happened." He says, pointing at his face. I check the other side, and find minor bruising. "Oh, Kyle. Tomorrow we go into town. I'm going to have to fix your face." He chuckles, "I'll heal. I'll have bruising, but it won't be as bad." I rest my head on his shoulder, and he leans his head against mine but avoids putting his cut. I start nodding off, but no one comes to separate us.

When I wake up, everyone is still asleep. I look up, and Kyle is playing with Ghost. I smile, and don't move. Morning. Morning Kyle. How'd you sleep? Perfectly. He chuckles through the link, and I laugh. Ghost bites Kyle's finger, and playfully pulls back. Kyle grins and I rub Ghost's side. He turns to me and rolls onto his back. I run his belly and his tail moves faster. Don't we have to take him into town? Yeah. I want to get him what he needs. Gotcha. Well, I'll ask Kane. I groan and he shakes his head. He slowly gets up, and goes to Kane. He gently shakes his shoulder, and Kane leaps up and looks around. He snaps something, and Kyle whispers something that I can't hear. Kane looks at me, then at Kyle. He finally nods. Kyle nods and comes back to me. "C'mon. Kane said we've got an hour and a half." He whispers. "Are we going to have to walk?" I ask. "Kane has a friend out here who's letting us borrow a car." "Who's the friend?" "Ace. He's waiting at the road." I shift, and Kyle follows. I pick up Ghost by the scruff and he goes stiff. We run towards the road, and Kyle leads the way.

I see Ace, and I slow. I put Ghost down and shift back. Kyle does too, and he picks up Ghost. Ace turns to us when we emerge. "Here's the keys. Be careful with it." He growls and runs back up the road, then shifts. Kyle hands me Ghost and opens the door for me. I get in and he sits down. "Such a beautiful car." He says, and runs his hands on the leather wheel. "Let's go." I laugh. He chuckles and starts the car. Ghost places his paws on the door to look outside. He keeps his tail wagging and I laugh. He looks at me with those silver eyes, and I smile. He lets out a puppy bark, and I pet his back. Kyle looks at me then turns back to the road. I look outside the window with Ghost, and keep my hand on his back. I pet him, and he yips. "We're in town." Kyle says. I look at the town, and see few people out. Some older folk smile, and I smile back. "The people seem nice." He nods, and keeps going. I point at the building that says veterinarian. He pulls into the parking space and gets out. He opens the door for me and I get out. Ghost squirms around, and I hold him close. Kyle shoots me that one sided smile, and we walk up to the building. He opens the door and I walk in. The receptionist greets us, "You have an appointment?" "Oh no. We just moved here a few days ago, and we were packing up. We found Ghost on our property and I couldn't leave him out in the cold." She nods and smiles. "We're clear right now. Follow me." Kyle rests his hand on my lower back and I move closer to him. She opens a door to a small room and I sit on the bench with Kyle. "You can put him on here." She says pointing to the metal table. I place Ghost on the table and he looks at us. "And what breed of dog is he?" She asks. "He's an um..." I trail off. "He's a wolf." Kyle says, pulling me to him. "Oh ok. Well the doctor will be here in a moment." I nod and she leaves. Kyle turns to me and presses a kiss to my forehead. I kiss his neck and he lets out a deep low growl. "Not in public." I say, pulling away. He pulls me back and grins cockily, showing me sharp fangs. "Kyle." I say warningly. He chuckles, and the sound makes me feel bubbly. He kisses my ear and I move away when I hear someone walking past the door. I sit straight up, and Kyle put his arm securely and a little possessively around my shoulders. I raise an eyebrow and he does too. Ghost shakes slightly and I pet his head. He stops and stares at Kyle. "If he was like us, he'd make a great Enforcer." I shake my head at him, "If only you were an Enforcer." He growls softly and nuzzles my neck. I giggle and move away. I hear the door handle turn and I sit straight. A man in his 50's opens the door. "Good morning, I'm Dr. McKinley." I shake his hand, "I'm Alexa." Kyle rises and shakes his hand, "I'm Kyle." He nods and looks at Kyle's face but ignores it, "And who is this?" He asks, scratching Ghost behind the ears. "That's Ghost." "Okay, so I'll go through a normal checkup for puppies. Then I'll give him his shots." I nod, and keep my eye on Ghost. Ghost cooperates and soon we're done with the checkup. "Okay, so Ghost is perfectly healthy. I'll give him the vaccines." He turns to me, "Do you know how old he is?" I shake my head, "I found him on our property. I couldn't really guess his age." He nods, "He's already three months." I blink then laugh, "Never thought he'd be that old." The doc laughs and heads out the door. Kyle takes advantage and pulls me into his lap. "Kyle." I laugh quietly and he tightens his arms around me. He flicks his tongue on my earlobe and I shiver. Lex, you're going to be mated to an Enforcer! Echo squeals excitedly. I know, Echo. And I love it. I knew you would. He'd give you a thrill. Echo! You conversing with your wolf? Yeah. She's excited that I'm going to be mated to you. I'm an Enforcer. Why wouldn't she be? Shut up, Kyle. Why? I'm going to be with you cause I want to. Not cause you're an Enforcer. But it's a bonus. I guess it is. I'd give you what a Beta like Luke can't. I press a kiss to his lips and sit beside him when once again the door handle moves. Doc opens the door and Ghost moves back a little. Doc places the bin on the table. "I'm going to give some that he's missed, and the ones he needs." I nod. "How much will it cost?" Kyle asks. "About $50." Doc responds. Kyle bites his lip and I place my hand on his thigh. Calm down. I am. Liar. Okay, not completely calm. Ghost shies away and I get up. I hold him gently, and I see sadness in his silver eyes. "Okay, he's done." Doc says. "Thanks Doc." I say and shake his hand. "Thank you Dr. McKinley." Kyle says, and shakes his hand. "You got a discount because you were new patients." I nod and smile. "Good day to you two." He says, leaving. I open the door and go back to the receptionist. "Hey again." I say. She smiles, "So you have gotten the first time discount. So your total with tax is $50.25." Kyle takes out his card and pays. "Okay. See you guys in a couple weeks." I wave and go outside. "Okay, now let's find the pet store." Kyle says. I spot one across the street and I start to walk. Kyle follows after and opens the door. The man at the register nods and I go to the back. I grab two bowls and put them in the basket. Kyle wanders off when I look for treats. He comes back with a black collar and I raise an eyebrow. He huffs and goes back. I grab the training treats and move to grab him food. I grab the bag of BLUE Buffalo Wilderness puppy food and I look at the price. I still put it in the basket, and look for Kyle. I don't see him I start to walk towards the wall with collars when I feel someone wound their arms around my waist. I catch Kyle's scent and he kisses my ear. Off limits, Kyle. Do I have to wait? Yes! He groans and I walk away. I found a collar. What color? Red. I turn and he holds up the collar and leash. I nod, and hold out the basket. He looks at the food, but doesn't say anything. I hand Ghost to Kyle, and I place the basket on the counter. "Is this all?" The man asks, and I nod. I take Ghost back and move back when Kyle goes to pay. He looks at me when the man hands him the bag and bids him goodbye. I push the door with my hip and I hold it for Kyle. He shakes his head, chuckling. Ghost looks at him, his silver eyes bright. Kyle ruffles his ears and Ghost keeps staring at him. Kyle keeps his hand on my lower back and he jogs towards the car. He opens the door for me and closes it after. Ghost returns to his post on the door. Kyle puts the bag in the back, and he looks at me. He wraps his hand around the nape of my neck and pulls me to him. My lips part and he takes advantage. He pulls back, leaving me breathless. He smirks and starts the car. My hand flies to my lips, and they're bruised and swollen. Ghost keeps his eyes glued outside and I feel Kyle rest his hand on my thigh. I shut my eyes and he grins. Now I've got you, don't I? I only nod, not trusting myself to answer because knowing Echo... Kyle keeps looking over at me, and Echo purrs when I meet his gaze. He pulls up back to where Ace gave us the car and jumps out. I hop out and keep my hold on Ghost. Kyle holds the bag, and I shift. I take Ghost by the scruff again and race off, leaving Kyle. Is that anyway to leave your mate? If you were my mate, you would shut up and follow. What if I'm already on you. Before I reply, I get tackled down. Kyle has the bag in his jaws and is looking down at me. I try to push him off, but he doesn't budge. Alexa, what if my wolf mated you right now? Kane would kill you for it. Then let's go. He says, jumping away. Ghost crawls out from under the bush and looks between us. Looks like we already have our first pup. Already? Yep. Ghost is our pup. I pick up Ghost and start to run. Kyle follows close after, and I keep my tail close. Kane is sitting and barks when we arrive. The three of us shift back, and he pulls me into a hug. "Alexa, you've got a lot of explaining to do." "What now?" I groan. "It's about your future with Kyle."
