Reluctantly Daisy agreed to take the day off work, she was exhausted to tell the truth.
She just wanted to be in her bed, Lee being there with her would have been a bonus.

"Daisy where the hell you been?!" George shouted as he came flying out of the house. This is where the real acting started "Sorry pa I was.." Daisy began to explain but she was cut off by her Pa "Wait, why are you with that bastard?" He questioned narrowing his eyes.

He was far too alert for the hang over he most likely had. Usually he slept till noon, why he was suddenly wide awake was a mystery.  "It's my fault Mr. Belle, ya see I called Daisy to help me with some paper work. It was late so I took her to mine" lee chimed in with his charming smile.

"I didn't wanna wake ya pa" Daisy smiled innocently hoping he wouldn't notice the dress. It was to be a surprise for a weekend away he was planning. The emerald green cotton complimented her hair and eyes. She was surprised that it fitted seen as lee's ma had made it for her.

George grumbled looking at the pair, he didn't trust Lee as far as he could throw him. "Thanks for looking after me lee, I'll see you in the morning" she smiled fighting the urge to kiss his cheek, that would make george even more angry than he was now.

"No problem sugar!" He replied with out thinking, george's eyes went wide. Lee didn't want to leave, he had a bad feeling. George was hungover and angry, not a good combination.

Daisy stood in the doorway and softly nodded to Lee. He knew it was time to go, watching her disappear into the house. Reluctantly he got in to his cruiser and left, he didn't want to anger george anymore.

"I told ya to quit that job. That son of a bitch is no good" george shouted as he slammed the door behind him. "But he's good to me daddy" Daisy argued, she never understood what her fathers problem was with the sheriff.

George staggered over to her, he definitely had hangover but something was off. "He's a bastard!" He yelled pushing Daisy back against the wall. She froze like dear in headlights. She couldn't fight back against her Pa, lee was defiantly long gone to hear her scream.

"I tell ya over and over again, stay away from him" he rambled "why couldn't ya just marry Tommy huh?" A stray tear rolled down his cheek. This was normal for george when he was drunk or hung over he would be aggressive with a few crocodile tears throw in.

Daisy would normally just stand and take his abuse, but not today. "Well if You didn't gamble I wouldn't have to!, is that the life you want for me huh?" She asked, venom lacing every word she spoke. George's eyes went wide.

She never spoke back to him, this was all the sheriffs fault. He had tainted his perfect little girl. Suddenly his hand was around daisy's throat, she clung on to his wrist. Digging in her nails trying to get him to let go.

"Don't you dare speak to me like that!" Shouted george, his grip getting tighter. Daisy gasped for breath as she felt his grip tighten. "This is all his fault. you've changed daisy, no mans gonna wanna a woman who can't keep her mouth shut" he went off on a rant

"Your just like your mother, you like it when I hurt you huh?" He shouted, Shoving her head against the wall. Her skull meeting the wall with a smack. As much as she wanted to be him to stop she couldn't.

The need for air growing stronger, her vision getting more blurred.

It was like someone had flicked a switch in George's head as he suddenly realised what he was doing. Releasing his grip on her, Daisy slid down the wall as she gasped for air. "I'm sorry" george whispered before bolting from the house.

What the fuck just happened?!

Daisy had never seen her Pa like this, so full of rage. Was this really all triggered by her not being home or the fact she was with Lee all night? She would never know. She coughed as she fought the sensation of wanting to throw up.

She crawled across the floor, using a chair at the dining table to help her stand. That was what she saw it, the reason why her pa was acting so strange. Remnants of a white powder sat on the table.

He was hung over and high.

Blinking a few times and taking a deep breath to compose herself, she went to the kitchen to get a damp cloth, Wiping away the residue. As she walked down the hall she glanced in the mirror, she was lucky she wasn't bruised.

She couldn't tell Lee about this, the drugs and the abuse. George would go to jail, Daisy couldn't live with herself if she did that.

Only thing was lee already knew. He'd seen the bruises, blood and saw through ever lie she told. It killed him to know what was going on behind closed doors, but he also knew she'd never forgive him if he got involved.
