Daisy fidgeted on the doorstep waiting for an answer. She didn't know where else to go. Maggie would just rub it in her face that she was right. Daisy didn't have any family left, well there was lee but she wasn't ready to face him yet.
The door opened as deputy Collins looked at her confused, she looked like she hadn't slept a wink, plus the bag at her feet. "Daisy are you okay?" He asked placing a hand on her shoulder. She busy into tears at the contact.
"Peggy! Get the kettle on, were gonna need coffee and lots of it!" The deputy shouted to his wife.
Daisy sat on the sofa staring into space, how could lee do this to her?! No wonder people were against them being together. Her hands shook as she reached out to take the steaming cup of coffee from Peggy.
Peggy sat next to her, "what's got you so upset hunnie?" She asked, her voice soft and gentle. Like a mother would be with her daughter. Mr an Mrs Collins were so kind and caring towards Daisy ever since she did some baby sitting.
" I guess everyone was right, George ain't my father" daisy sighed as she placed the cup down on the coffee table. "Well he didn't treat you too good" expressed Peggy, she was never shy of saying he opinions out loud.
She would often say how it was none of other peoples business who lee happened to be dating. "Neither did my biological dad" she mumbled "You know who it is?" Peggy asked in suprise, she didn't like gossip.shed rather get the scoop from th source.
Daisy looked over to Peggy, once again her eyes full of tears "It's lee"she squeaked
"What?!" Peggy exclamed louder than she ment to. "And I think I might be pregnant" Daisy once again burst into tears.
Deputy Collins, knocked on the sheriff's door. He knew what was going on, having a quick read of the letter he held in his hand.
"Sheriff, Daisy asked me to give this to you" Collins stated placing a letter on his desk. Lee shot out of his seat "You've seen her? Is she ok? Where is she?" He quizzed, desperate to know each answer
"She's safe" Collins confirmed before leaving the office
