Another day, another shift.

Daisy loved her job, the boys at the station learnt very quickly to respect her or face the consiquences.

Lee on the other hand loved the power and to abuse it. But the real work, well he'd rather be bending daisy over his desk. Making her scream so the whole station could hear her. Seeing Daisy in the office everyday made it easier for him. Her smile brightening up his day and he could finally find something in his office.

It had been a relatively slow day. Daisy was sat with the boys, listening to stories about their weddings. Lee couldn't help but smile. She was the best thing to happen to him and the station. The smile on her face as she consentrated on every word they spoke.

Lee tore his gaze away to open a letter that as sat waiting for him on his desk. He studied the fancy hand written words, just his name no address.

Ripping the white envelope open he wasn't prepared for what was waiting for him inside.
Multiple Polaroid photos fell on to his desk. His heart tightened at the sight. Daisy, his beautiful daisy.

Various photos of her undressing, just in a towel, even one of her bare back. The compromising photos had been taken from outside and at a distance. They could have been taken by anyone.

Lee heard her giggling being brought back to reality. He stuffed the photos in a draw before collapsing in his chair.

His breathing became short and laboured. His chest tightened. He couldn't even call out for help. One hand holding his chest then other holding his desk to stop him falling from his chair.

All he could think of was Daisy till the room went black.

Daisy sat by lee's bed side holding his hand. She couldn't stop the tears from flowing, she wasn't quite sure how she had any left. Her throat stinging from the blood curdling scream she released earlier. Seeing the man she was courting on the floor unresponsive broke her.

"Oh lee, please wake up. I need ya honey. I don't feel safe without my man protecting me. We got our whole future ahead of us. Kinda need you to be able to have all those kids ya want" she giggled at the last part "that's right honey I hear ya talking to ya folks"

As usual she tried to see the bright side of life, maybe this was a sign from god in some twisted way. "Daisy?" A soft voice asked from the door way. Immediately she let go of his hand, pushing the chair backwards.

She looked up to see a familiar smiling face "Oh Maggie, please don't tell pa. he would kill me" she begged, more tears threatening to fall. She wasn't sure what was worse the thought of loosing Lee or what her father would do if he ever found out.

"Don't worry sweetie, I won't" she smiled taking the seat next to her. Maggie was on her rounds making sure everyone was comfortable. That was until, she heard Daisy talking to someone. "Thank you" Daisy pulled her into a hug.

She once again held his hand tight, rubbing her thumb over his knuckles. Her eyes fixed on his, not wanting to miss the second they flicker open. "So this is the mystery man you went on the date with?" She asked, her voice laced with venom.

Ok so George wasn't the only one to dislike the sherif but he had his reasons. Maggie, well no one really knew why she didn't like him. "I love him Maggie" Daisy confessed with a sad smile. She was shocked at those words, Daisy was still only young. What did she know about love?

"You do? Look Daisy I ain't trying to tell you what to do but" she began before she was cut off
"But nothing Maggie he looks after me" Daisy fired back, looking over her shoulder at the older woman.

Lee was a changed man he was no longer in parking lots with a different woman every time and he'd promised to stay off the drugs. "He's a lot older that you sweetie, just look at him. He ain't exactly healthy" she pointed out trying to choose her words delicately.

"I don't care about his size, I love him for who he is. And I'll be right here supporting him" Daisy defended him, why couldn't anyone else see this side of him? This kind hearted soul who had so much love to give to her.

He attention was quickly back on him when she felt his hand twitch in hers and a groan left his lips. "Oh thank god your awake" Daisy exclaimed placing a kiss on his cheek, his steel blue eyes meeting hers. "Where am I sugar?" He asked, his voice groggy and eyes stinging from the bright lights.

Maggie stood up and attempted to be professional "Your in the hospital sheriff, I'll go get the doctor" she spoke taking this opportunity to leave. She knew Daisy wasn't going to listen to what anyone had to say, she was too naive. "Who was she?" Lee questioned, looking confused and concerned at the same time.

The pair decided to keep their relationship a secret for the moment. They both knew george would flip if he knew. Daisy giggled at his expression "That's Maggie she's a nurse and my neighbour" she explained.

"She know about us?" He asked again, full of questioned he wanted answering. "Yeah, she won't tell pa" Daisy whispered running her fingers through his hair, placing another kiss on his forehead.

As soon as the door started to open she tore herself away from him, as much as it pained them both to do so. "Sheriff good to see your awake" the doctor spoke, he seemed cheerful. Maybe this isn't bad news after all hun?

WRONG!

Lee chuckled "Thanks, now what the hell happened?" Again another question he wanted answering. "You had a heart attack" the doctor stated as a matter of fact, flicking papers over the clip board he was holding.

" I had a what?" Lee shouted in disbelief, "Oh my god" Daisy shrieked, collapsing back into the chair. Neither of them could believe what they just heard. Lee was concerned about Daisy, she looked like she was about to faint.

"Lucky this young lady got you the medical attention you needed so the damage is minimum" the doctor explained, "But you are on bed rest till further notice and I mean this in the nicest way possible sheriff. You need to get a healthier life style" he signed the discharge papers on the board.

Great bed rest, nothing worse then sitting in bed all day, well unless Daisy was sat on top of him. Shit lee focus this is serious! "This was a warning Lee, you need to listen to it" those last words from the doctor weren't gonna leave him anytime soon.
