Chapter 102: Stepping Up
________________________________________________

"Bee, you sure you know how to fly this thing?"

The Camaro made shushing noises at me as he pulled the aircraft to a higher altitude. :: Watch a master at work!::

I gripped onto his leg as I fell back into him. "I'm pretty sure a master wouldn't almost fly into an 80-foot building."

He shot me a brief glare. :: You wanna drive, genius?::

"Well maybe if you didn't weigh thousands of pounds I would've been able to fly you both to-"

"Shut it down you two!" Sam cut me off as he used Bee's arm to climb up towards the hatch. "You can argue when I leave. Open up, Bee!"

Bumblebee opened the hatch, allowing his charge to slip through as he leveled the ship with the balcony on a tall building. "Careful, Sammy!" I called, anxiety coursing through me as I watched the human carefully crawl to the front of the ship before jumping onto the balcony.

"Is he gonna be okay?" I began to fidget once he vaulted over the bar and disappeared into the building.

:: Trust and believe.:: The radio played as Bee pulled gently on the controls, causing the ship to lower slightly.

"But what if he needs help?" I climbed onto his shoulder and reached out towards the hatch. "Maybe I can-"

Bee reached up and pulled me from his shoulder before setting me on his lap. :: Absolutely not, missy! Are you...out of your mind?::

"But Beeeee," I whined. "He needs help! I can help!"

:: Sit down!::

"But I can help!"

:: No!::

"But-SAM!"

I watched in horror as a screaming Sam was dragged out of the building and thrown over the balcony. "Bee! Let me out!" I shouted, forcing the hatch open before nosediving after Sam.

:: Hey!::

I quickly transformed into my Cybertronian form and stretched my fingers out towards the thrashing human.

"Sam!"

I collected him in my servo before righting myself and flying back towards the ship. I glanced down at the shaking human that was pressed against my chest as I hovered over the ship.

"You okay?"

He nodded shakily before sliding down my arm onto the ship. "Y-Yea...C-Carly...we have to...Carly!" I followed his gaze as Bee leveled with the balcony again.

"Hey! Let her go or I'll step on you!" I threatened, spotting the blonde woman struggling in a guard's grip. She elbowed the man in his side, causing him to release her and kneel over in pain.

The woman ran onto the balcony and jumped over into Sam's waiting arms. "Carly," He breathed, caressing her hair before urging her inside the cockpit with Bee. Gently, I dropped onto the back of the ship and made sure she was safe inside once I heard the low hum of powering guns.

"Sam!" The human quickly scrambled out the way as Bee released heavy fire upon the building, causing the humans to scatter across the floor for cover.

Serves you guys right for taking Carly!

A sudden screech brought my attention to a...small metal bird-ish creature? The creature released a metallic sound before it flew around and attacked Sam.
