Chapter 76: Little Hope

"WHY WON'T YOU ANSWER ME?!" Large metals hands slammed down on either side of me and irritated red optics glowered into mine.

"Lord Megatron."

The Deception snapped his head over to the being behind me. "What?!"

"Perhaps we could use a different method to get the girl to talk."

"A different method?" The mech eased back and crossed his arms with a look of interest. "What method are you suggesting Soundwave?"

A loud crack sounded over the ringing in my ears as Megatron eyed the product with a growing smirk.

"Maybe this will do."

"Yes." He reached forward and pulled it into his grasp, inspecting the unused object closely.

"This will do nicely."

I gave a weak pull on the restraints, forcing a cry from my aching body as I struggled to focus on my capture.

"P-Please."

He turned back and straightened the long whip between his fingers with a dangerous grin.

"Every disobedient child deserves punishment."

Autobot Base

"What are we gonna do, Optimus?" Sideswipe asked with growing worry as he kneeled down to cuddle the whining Cyberdog at his side.

"How are we gonna get her back?"

"They know we coming so they probably could be settin' something up." Jazz pointed out. "The real question is how are we gonna find em'? Those Cons could be anywhere."

"We're doing what we can, Optimus." Lennox stood to his feet on the Autobot table. "We got men loading up and ready to put birds in the sky to search the area and possibly catch Megatron if he's still up in the air."

Ratchet crossed his arms and sighed in irritation. "What if the Decepticons happen to be underground? Your human technology would not be able to detect them."

Even though it was unlikely to find such construction that was large enough for a mech of Megatron's size, there was a chance that he went over careful planning to make daring risks. He probably risked the life of his captive to hide somewhere in the ocean.

"Then what are we gonna do?"

Multiple ramblings began to spread across the group, voices grew increasingly loud as one questioned the other of their theories and thoughts of how to save Liza. Many grew irritated with the lack of ideas and hopelessness seemed to settle on a few 'bots.

"Enough!"

Immediately, arguments came to a halt and all Autobots and humans present turned their attention to the Autobot Leader in the room. A tense silence took hold of the large room as the Prime took a step forward towards the anxious group.

"I know you all are worried, myself included, but please settle down. We will achieve nothing if we sit here and simply fuss at each other."

"Dang."

The mechs within the room visibly deflated and held their heads down in shame.

Mudflap spoke up from below. "He's right. If we want to get Liza back then we gotta do something about it."

"Man shut up!" Skids pulled back and knocked his brother in his head causing the other to stumble backwards. "Talkin' like you a hero or something."
