Chapter 67: First Snow Day
_____________________________________________

"Oh, good Primus!"

I was awoken by the weak sun-rays peaking through my curtains and shining on my face, rousing me from my deep slumber.

I wiped the sleep from my eyes and immediately noticed something...was completely off.

Like off.

Like really off.

Well for one, the usually bright Sun wasn't as bright or hot, but it seemed somewhat dimmed and produced less warmth. And who could miss the big drop in the temperature? My room felt like it was covered in ice.

Not that it bothered me.

Curious, I slid out of bed and changed out of my pajamas and into casual clothing then proceeded out the door.

In the hallways, it was unbelievably quiet. The drill sergeants could still be heard in the distance, but....no rowdy 'bots. Just the quiet busy humans early in the morning.

However, I knew this quiet wouldn't last long. It was bound to be destroyed by a Cranky
Ratchet and a Grumpy IronHide soon.

Real soooooon.

As I walked further down, the temperature seemed to drop more and more to the point where you could see my hot breath appear in the chilly air.

It only increased my curiosity more and I sped up my pace, feeling the sudden burst of excitement rush through me like a rocket.

I have no idea why I'm getting excited over the cold. It's all fun and games until I catch one. And then a fussy Ratchet is gonna be on my tail.

Once I stepped outside, my eyes were met with a literal white wonderland!

The entire ground was covered in this sparkly white...powder! Roofs were covered with it! Planes were covered with it! The entrances of hangars were covered! Equipment was covered! Everything was covered!

Heck, even Boomer was covered with it!

And I could even see Skids and Mudflap rolling around on the ground like two happy crazy cats.

Weirdos.

Wait...

"Boomer?"

The Cyber-dog was happily playing and rolling around in the new substance like it was water.

"Boomer, what are you doing out there in that stuff?!" He was completely oblivious to the fact that he was probably playing in some kind of dangerous human weather.

It could be some kind of acid or something that could cause him to rust.

I started to towards him until I heard something crunched under me and cold invaded my shoes, instantly freezing my feet.

"What the...." I looked down and my feet were submerged in the cold powder.

Ignoring the shiver that ran throughout my body, I took another step and received nothing but the same results; A satisfying crunch and a cold foot.

Woah.

Hesitantly, I reached down and scooped up a handful of the unknown substance and inspected it closely.

It was cold and soft like a pillow and molded easily like clay. It felt so familiar.

A sudden wave of nostalgia washed over like a tidal wave. I know this stuff! But what's it called again?
