Chapter 69: The Aftermath and Memories
_____________________________________________"What is that?"
"What is what?"
The medic stepped closer and pointed to the metal hanging from the nape of my neck.
"This? It's a necklace." I answered simply.
"Why are you wearing it?"
"What do you mean 'why am I wearing it?"
"It's unlikely of you to wear human jewelry, so what made you want to wear it now?" Ratchet asked with a tinge of suspicion in his voice.
"It's a gift from a friend."
"So another one of your human boyfriends?"
I fiddled with the key between my fingers and stared at the 'bot above. "It wasn't a boy. A girl gave me this."
"How am I supposed to be so sure?"
"Ouch. You don't trust me, Ratch?" I quipped, provoking a small smile from the green mech.
"Just need a little confirmation or proof."
"Well here's your proof. The girl that gave this to me is an actual friend. Her name is Janylaah."
"Janylaah?" He repeated, making sure he sounded the syllables of her name correctly. (Ja-Ni-LuH)
"Yep. She gave it to me and said it was a necklace that represents our friendship."
"Aww." Jazz rushed to Ratchet's side with his hands clasped together. "That's sweet! Ah wish my friends would give me gifts and tell me how much they love meh."
Are you hinting something?
He avoided the hot gaze directed towards his way and put an innocent smile on his face.
"I'm sorry, would you like a wrench to your head?"
"Ah'm just kidding!" He ducked his head under his arms and ran over to my side when the medic pulled a wrench from his subspace.
"You seem desperate for a gift and I'm willing to give it to you."
Jazz began moving restlessly in his spot, stammering for the right words.
"Ah w-was just playin' Ratch! J-Just a lil' joke!"
"Sure."
"W-What Ah meant to say was that Liz's friend is very nice to give her a gift. Such a thoughtful gift. Look at it. So pretty! Definitely not from a boy."
"Ok, now you're just adding more suspicion."
"My bad. What Ah mean ta say was-"
"I believe her. I find it hard for a human male especially a child to put that much thought into a gift anyways. Though I am curious about the key added onto the chain."
"Maybe it's a key to her house." Jazz said, earning an odd look from Ratchet.
"No, she told me the key is there to remind me how I opened her heart."
"That's just one of tha sweetest things Ah've heard in a million years! Makes me wanna go hug someone."
"Don't." Ratchet warned when Jazz started advancing towards him with open arms. "You have a sparkmate for that."
"...ok."
"Although I do find that nice of your friend." He added.
"Ah know right. She reminds me of me."
