Chapter 88: Sleepover

Optimus

The Autobot Leader stood quietly in his daughter's room as he watched her carefully go through her belongings in her bag. "Ok, I think I'm ready. I have my toothbrush, deodorant, pajamas, clothes for tomorrow, and my blanket."

"Is that everything, my dear?"

"Yep...actually-" She sprinted over to her bookshelf and took a few seconds to pick out a book of her choosing before tossing it into her bag and zipping it up.

"Ok, this time I have everything...I think."

"And your bracelet?" He questioned.

She rose her hand to show the metal that circled her wrist. "Right here."

He nodded. "Good. Are you ready to go?"

"Yep." She chirped happily and skipped out of the room, The Prime chuckled as he followed her out and headed over towards his alt form. She threw her bag onto his floorboards and hoisted herself into his large semi-form with a bit of assistance from his holoform.

"You seem excited," Optimus spoke from the radio once he buckled her in.

"This will be my first proper human sleepover! Can you believe it? I wonder about all the things we're gonna do together!"

Optimus quickly deactivated his holoform and started his journey towards the gates of the base.

He felt a bit reluctant in putting Liza in the care of an unknown human who could be a Decepticon in disguise or any other danger who could bring harm to his daughter.

He could be wrong.

Some might say he's overreacting for assuming that the father of an innocent human child could be a potential threat, but he was simply looking out for Liza.

He could feel her bouncing in his seat with excitement, a small smile on her lips and joy danced in her eyes.

She seemed so happy and seeing her happy made him happy.

After Megatron...he thought he would never see her smile again yet here she was. She seemed so delighted but he knew it was a mask to hide what was buried underneath.

She was still suffering and he knew it. Terrible memories and visions haunted her in her nightmares and he was aware of it.

She thought he didn't know but he did. When it comes to his children he was determined to know about everything.

It was his fatherly instincts.

And now she wanted to leave to go to her human friend and to be honest Optimus didn't want her to go, not only because she was on punishment but because he didn't want her to leave his sights.

Not after that little stunt that she and Bumblebee pulled a few days ago.

As if they would even attempt to do something like that again after he nearly strangled them.

But he knew he couldn't just keep them locked away for the rest of their lives. They were young and he had to let them explore the world and experience new things.

"Liza."

I groaned and swatted at the hand pushing against my shoulder. "Five more minutes."

"Liza wake up. We're here."

Oh.

"Huh...already?" I rose from the seat and peered out the tinted windows to take in the long row of houses lined up on the side of the road and the numerous toys and bikes that were scattered in the grassy yards. It felt a bit odd being in a suburban neighborhood since I was so used to isolated buildings and open fields. The small yards and little spaces between the houses made me wonder if my dad was claustrophobic in such a small area.
