Chapter 112: Final Precious Moments
________________________________________________

"RUN LIZA!"

Ducking under a missile, I turned towards the black mech running behind me. "I'm not going to leave you!"

"You-GET DOWN!"

I yelped when I was thrown behind a thick tree, IronHide's thick body standing protectively in front of me to shield me away from heavy gunfire.

"Move!"

Quickly, I transformed and sped after Hide's hulking GMC truck, skillfully weaving in and out of trees. "Hide!" I called over the helicopters soaring over us.

"Where do we go!"

"Just keep moving! Don't stop!"

"But the others!" I called worriedly. "Can't we call for help!"

"Look out!"

I swerved to the right to avoid the oncoming middle but was unable to dodge the second one that landed beside me.

"Liza!" I transformed as I was thrown forward by the explosion. With a pained grunt, I clutched onto my bleeding side and rolled onto my back, my optics blinking rapidly to clear my vision and block the bright lights hovering over me.

"Fragging humans! GET AWAY!" Transforming, IronHide dove into a roll and grabbed hold of my arm as he unholstered his weapon.

I didn't bother looking up, knowing the first shot he took had surely taken out one of the helicopters. At the sound of failing engines and explosions, I tried to push myself up but he insisted I stay down as he dragged me through the open fields toward the surrounding trees and tall grass. "I gotcha, youngling! Just stay down!"

I groaned in pain, clutching my abdomen while trying to shield myself away from oncoming fire. "I-It hurts."

"I know, just a bit longer. We're gonna get out of this. Boomer!" I watched as the Cyberdog sprinted from the woods and rammed into the vehicles and equipment surrounding us. Hide took this chance to take down another helicopter before quickly gathering me in his arms and sprinting toward the woods for cover. I grimaced at the rough movement as I swung back and forth in his arms, still clutching my wound.

"B-Boomer...we have to..." I called softly.

"He will be fine. Boomer is a smart dog, he'll know how to find us."

Trusting his words, I settled back into his chest as he weaved in between trees, lowering himself to the ground to avoid the bright helicopter lights that hovered over the treetops.

"W-Wha.." He set me on my feet as he pulled out his blaster and fired a shot at the trees ahead causing them to fall over and explode in bits.

"Should keep them distracted. Let's go!" I yelled when he made a sharp left, pulling me along with him.

I stumbled forward to keep up with him. "W-Wait, Hide!"

He said nothing as he turned around and swooped me into his arms before continuing forward. After a few minutes of running, he finally came to stop, glancing around him before laying me on the ground.

"Hide?"

"Move your hand." He opened a compartment on his arm and pulled out some supplies, hovering over me as he began patching up my wound.
