Mama!

Also, a special announcement from yours truly!

My brother, Atrivak , has a story posted on his profile that's a novel that follows his characters through an intergalactic war. He's been writing this book for years and finally got it to a place he was comfortable publishing it.

If any of you like action novels that are packed full of drama and intense battle scenes, go give it a look!

Alright, continue on, my heathens.

Alastor's POV

I could get used to this.

This weight against my chest that isn't caused by guilt or something similar. A physical weight that fits against me just right.

The weight of her.

After the little incident with my spell room, we finally made it back up to bed where I'd initially planned to end our night at.

Relieved doesn't even begin to cover how I felt when I caught her. If she had opened that door...it's padlocked and damn near impossible to enter without a key, but who knows what those nasty little spirits would've done just to get their hands on her soul.

She's not for you.

I nearly scowled as I said this in my head, hoping they were poking around in my thoughts how they normally do.

I should've known better than to not warn her further about that room. Now she just thinks I'm hiding something from her, which, technically I am...but it really is for her own good.

If I tell her she'll just be tempted, and temptation only makes the pull stronger, and if they get their hands on her soul...there is nothing I can do to save her.

This is why I keep that door locked, this is why I use my magic sparingly, because it is dangerous.

But I can handle it.

She cannot.

And I won't let her try, I won't burden her with the choice of keeping her nose out of things she doesn't understand. If I don't tell her, she won't go searching for more information about any of this.

She won't even know what to search for.

Plus, if she got in there and touched or broke anything, it could very well send my soul straight to the jaws of hell. Just one broken vial of blood would be all it took.

I take my deals very seriously.

And so do they.

"Alastor, are you even listening to me?"

Suddenly, her voice pulled me out of my thoughts, and I blinked. My eyes trained down to her laying against my chest, eyelids lowered with her lips forced into a disapproving pout.

My heart jumped to my throat from how cute she looked, and I shook my head.

"I was not, my darling, I apologize. I was just thinking about something...what were you saying?"

Her pout lessened and she tilted her head.

"Whatcha thinking about?" She asked me innocently, and I froze.

Shit.

"Uummm..." I drew out the sound as I thought of a lie to tell her, "just about tomorrow...I can't wait to show you more tricks at the studio," I said with a smile, running my fingers through her hair.
