I'm just gonna go ahead and put you all on this song. It's amazing, give it a listen I promise it's worth it.

Also, if you didn't see, I published an art book. If you'd like to see older art pieces all in one place, or even new pieces that you won't find in any of my stories, head over there.

Fawn's POV

The radio station is quite lively today, reporters bustling around and the sound of typewriters clicking away.

The scent of coffee surrounded me, the sound of Julie and Niffty playing eye-spy being the background noise to my morning.

I was sat at Al's desk in his lap, going over his reports with him and helping him edit them.

His hand was rested on my waist, idly rubbing circles against the fabric of my blouse. The soft tune that he was humming was upbeat and chipper. Something is up with him today.

All morning he's been more peppy than usual, bouncing around and being extra sweet to me.

A kiss against my cheek caught me off guard, taking my attention away from the paragraph I was analyzing.

Before I could do anything, two strong arms squeezed me around the middle and he buried his nose into my neck, sighing contently.

I blushed slightly, smiling a bit sheepishly as he was just openly doing this in front of Niffty and Julie.

One glance at them told me they were preoccupied with their game, but still.

"What's this all about?" I asked softly, reaching up to run my fingers through his hair, twirling a piece gently.

He kissed my neck chastely, and pulled back to look at me as I turned as much as I could to look at him.

"What, a man can't love his wife?"

I snorted softly, rolling my eyes.

"I'm still your fiancée, you silly man. We should probably start planning our wedding, by the way," I reminded him, and it was his turn to roll his eyes.

"Oh, you are my wife...by every meaning of the word. However, you're right," he sighed, relenting. The smile on his face told me he's not as disgruntled about this as he was putting off.

I smiled and laid back against him slightly, looking up at the ceiling as visions of a beautiful wedding swam in my mind...a beautiful wedding, with a wonderful groom and our little Julie tossing petals down the isle as I walk towards my forever.

My paradise.

Oh, I can't wait.

"I think...we should do a garden wedding...you know there's a lovely little venue that I've been looking at recently, and they have the prettiest flowers. I'm sure they could fix that up for us..." I suggested softly, one of my hands lifted to caress his cheek.

Now that the crash has mostly passed, businesses are finally starting to get back on their feet. The streets are less drab, but I know the energy will never fully return to this place. Not for a long time.
